Por Mis Maestros de Vida

For My Life Teachers

My parents, along with my kindergarten and school teachers, were my teachers from the beginning. Each one with a somewhat different teaching method, but with the same goal, that I learn the lessons, acquire the knowledge and experience. Although at that time I did not see it that way because I was unaware of it. I saw it as they wanted to control me at their whim. Now I see that they always wanted the best for me.

My grandma' was a great teacher in my life because as I mentioned in the previous post, she taught me different things, and I think that for the short time I lived with her, there were many things. Sometimes I wonder how much more she could have taught me if I had stayed with her longer. Although it is something that I can no longer be sure of knowing.

My brother, in spite of everything, has always been there to give me his example in life. Someone who in his own way has tried to teach me different things. Although today we are both adults, I do not stop learning from him.

The friends and relationships I've had have also left me with some lessons. Some of those teachings I did not understand at the time, but after a while and a different level of consciousness I managed to see things differently.

There are people I have met on the street who have left me teachings, either because I have stopped to talk to them, because we are next to each other in a waiting room, or because they have approached me in a place. You may think that they will only tell you inconsistencies, but in the end you realize that those tips were the ones you needed at some point in your life.

The greatest teachers I have had in life are failure and loneliness. Failures are there to show you that you must learn more. Loneliness makes you see that if you don't find a way to be right with yourself, you won't be right with anyone else. Time is what goes on day by day without stopping, it doesn't care if you are right or wrong, if you are ready for something or not, it just keeps going its way without looking back. It is hard the method of teaching of that old sage, but it is the one that in many occasions you need to see the things from another perspective and to learn. At some point you begin to value it and take advantage of the fact that it is still with you.

When you learn you even begin to be grateful for every failure because you realized that it has hit you where you needed to be hit in order to make you see and understand many things. The pain gives you the responsibility to decide whether to stay there in that place or continue with that or change to something different until you reach success. When you learn, you are grateful for the solitude because besides being good to yourself and to everyone, no one can disturb or damage the bliss you have achieved.
