EL VISITANTE QUE SIN SER INVITADO QUEDÓ ATRAPADO DETRÁS DEL ESCAPARATE🤓 🤓 /THE UNINVITED VISITOR TRAPPED BEHIND ESCAPARATE🤓 🤓

Después de nueve meses de cuarentena logramos ir para nuestra casa ubicada en las afueras de la ciudad, en la Costa; la casa que está cerca del mar, en el pueblo donde nací. Antes de la cuarentena acostumbrábamos a ir con más frecuencia por lo menos una o dos veces al mes; cada dos meses dependiendo de nuestras ocupaciones. Pero siempre pendiente de la casa, porque las casas solas son vulnerables para robarlas, se deterioran, y los animales las agarran de moradas y se apropian de ellas.

After nine months of quarantine we managed to go to our house located on the outskirts of the city, on the Coast; the house that is near the sea, in the town where I was born. Before the quarantine we used to go more frequently at least once or twice a month; every two months depending on our occupations. But we always keep an eye on the house, because houses alone are vulnerable to being robbed, they deteriorate, and animals take over and appropriate them.

De éstos últimos que mencioné, va dirigida mi anécdota de hoy. Amigos de HIVE hoy les quiero contar el episodio que vivimos mi hermana y yo el pasado viernes. Estábamos super contentas de volver a nuestro pueblo y visitar la casa que por tantos meses no veíamos ni habitabamos. Nuestra casa es muy hermosa, grande y cómoda además es fresca porque los techos aparte de ser altos algunas paredes no llegan al techo permitiendo el paso de la brisa y que no sea tan calurosa.

Of these last ones I mentioned, my anecdote of today is directed Friends of HIVE, today I want to tell you about the episode my sister and I experienced last Friday. We were very happy to return to our village and visit the house that we had not seen or lived in for so many months. Our house is very beautiful, big and comfortable and it is cool because the ceilings, apart from being high, some walls do not reach the ceiling, allowing the breeze to pass through and it is not so hot.

Esa característica es buena y mala a la vez, buena porque entra aire y la casa es fresca; pero a su vez es muy desagradable porque, por ahí se meten los animales y ellos se aparean, paren y hacen sus necesidades en las camas, muebles y almohadas o cualquier espacio que les sea conveniente, como las paredes en el caso de los tuqueques o limpiacasa (como se le conoce en algunos lugares del país) por esa razón las paredes y las lámparas están llenas de las heces de estos animalitos.

That characteristic is good and bad at the same time, good because air comes in and the house is fresh; but at the same time it is very unpleasant because the animals go in there and they mate, stop and do their needs in the beds, furniture and pillows or any space that is convenient for them, like the walls in the case of the tuqueques or limpiacasa (as it is known in some places of the country) for that reason the walls and the lamps are full of the feces of these little animals.

Como les comenté al inicio solíamos ir con frecuencia para mantener la casa limpia y evitar que estos animales hagan vida allí, ya que, tenemos un patio con una tierra bendita, porque cualquier fruta o vegetal que se siembra crece y da frutos; los mismos que atraen ciertas especies que habitan en las adyacencias de la casa y cuando no estamos se apropian de su interior y hacen vida dentro de la misma. De Caracas hacia La Sabana son dos horas de camino aproximadamente, si vas de paseo tomando fotos y parandote a comprar cosas uno se tarda más, tres o cuatro horas pero si vas sin interrupción alguna se llega rápido.

As I mentioned at the beginning we used to go frequently to keep the house clean and prevent these animals from making life there, since, we have a patio with a blessed land, because any fruit or vegetable that is planted grows and gives fruit; the same ones that attract certain species that live in the surroundings of the house and when we are not there they take over the interior and make life inside the house. From Caracas to La Sabana it is approximately a two hour walk, if you go for a walk taking pictures and stopping to buy things it takes longer, three or four hours but if you go without any interruption it is fast.

Bueno les cuento que en este viaje no hubo interrupción alguna porque todo estaba cerrado y no había donde comprar, así que llegamos rápido alegres y felices de volver a nuestra casa. Abrí las puertas y las ventanas de la sala; pero desde que entré me llegó un mal olor, una fetidez de algún animal muerto y en estado de descomposición. Efectivamente, cuando entré en la habitación donde duermo para abrir la ventana el mal olor lo percibí más fuerte, supe que estaba ahí, en esa habitación. No puede ser, pensé, era tan fuerte la hediondez que casi no podíamos permanecer ahí.

Well I tell you that on this trip there was no interruption because everything was closed and there was no place to buy, so we arrived quickly happy and content to return to our home. I opened the doors and windows of the room; but from the moment I entered I got a bad smell, a stench of some dead animal in a state of decomposition. Indeed, when I entered the room where I sleep to open the window, the bad smell was stronger, I knew I was there, in that room. It can't be, I thought, the stench was so strong that we could hardly stay there.

Mi hermana abrió la puerta de la habitación de enfrente y decía está aquí, pero yo le decía que no, no estaba ahí porque era demasiado fuerte y desagradable el olor. Comencé aterrada a buscar la fuente del mal olor, estaba muy asustada porque no sabía con que me iba a encontrar. Moví las almohadas de la cama y no había nada, gracias a Dios no fue encima de la cama pensé, busqué un banquito y me monté para ver encima del escaparate, tampoco había nada, en el suelo había un machete mi hermana lo movió y salieron una cantidad de gusanos impresionante y horribles.

My sister opened the door to the room across the street and said it's here, but I said no, it wasn't there because it was too strong and unpleasant to smell. I started to look for the source of the bad smell, I was very scared because I didn't know what I was going to find. I moved the pillows from the bed and there was nothing there, thank God it was not on top of the bed I thought, I looked for a little stool and I mounted it to see on top of the window, there was nothing there either, on the floor there was a machete my sister moved it and an impressive and horrible amount of worms came out.

Ella salió a buscar desinfectantes y detergentes para echarle, ya sabíamos la fuente del mal olor, entonces moví el escaparate hacia adelante y fue cuando vi una larga cola y la parte trasera del cuerpo de un Rabipelado (así le dicen en Venezuela) o Zarigüeya muerto; podrido, en un fuerte estado de descomposición de ahí venían los gusanos. Salí corriendo y gritando como una loca a buscar ayuda a los vecinos para que sacaran ese animal de ahí. Todo esto aconteció como a las 6:00 pm, un vecino lo sacó en una bolsa, y lo enterró en el patio; desde ese momento comenzamos a limpiar el piso, la pared y la parte trasera del escaparate.

She went out to look for disinfectants and detergents to throw away, we already knew the source of the bad smell, so I moved the window forward and that's when I saw a long tail and the back of the body of a dead Rabipelado (that's what they call it in Venezuela) or Zarigüeya; rotten, in a strong state of decomposition that's where the worms came from. I ran out and screamed like crazy to get help from the neighbors to get that animal out of there. All this happened around 6:00 pm, a neighbor took it out in a bag, and buried it in the yard; from that moment on we started cleaning the floor, the wall and the back of the window.

Por la forma como quedó presumimos que se quedó atascado entre la pared y el escaparate y no pudo salir ocasionándole la muerte. Entre cloro, jabón, kerosene, desinfectante y mucha, mucha agua estuvimos hasta las 3:00 de la mañana sacando gusanos de esa habitación. Movimos y lavamos todas las mesitas, camas y otros enseres que estaban alrededor, dejamos puertas y ventanas abiertas para que saliera el mal olor. Este es la razón o motivo por el que siempre debemos visitar la casa con frecuencia.

From the way it was left, we presume it got stuck between the wall and the window and could not get out, causing its death. Between chlorine, soap, kerosene, disinfectant and lots and lots of water we stayed up until 3:00 in the morning pulling worms out of that room. We moved and washed all the little tables, beds and other belongings that were around, we left doors and windows open so that the bad smell would come out. This is the reason or reason why we should always visit the house frequently.
