Portfolio: The Neon World of Japanese Photographer Omi Kim

Omi Kim is a Japanese photographer and content creator, based in Osaka, who has specialized in mainly portraying the urban life of the streets of Japan in a way that we could call cinematographic.

One of the most distinctive features of his work is that his photos are at night, which gives the neon lights of the illuminated advertisements a leading role in his photographs, either as central elements, compositional elements or as lighting for them.

The cultural richness of Japan and the mixture of traditional Japanese culture mixed with the overwhelming modernity of the urban is striking.

Geishas, street food stalls, modern cars, common people on their way to work, communication antennas, dark alleys, illuminated facades, and many more elements coexist in a permanent and harmonious contrast in the universe that this talented photographer shows us through his images.
