How I Spent Sunday in Times of Pandemic, Trying Not to Meet My Little Enemies

The seventh day of the week is for rest. Sixth, too. This is how the weekend is set up. For fun, relaxation and rest! This is one of the benefits of the modern era in which we live.

Each of us has very personal ways to spend these days. Of course, it is great diversity, but in the end, we all have to provide rest and relaxation and make us forget the rest of the week which is often very stressful.

My stress and relaxation recipe are made up of several activities, such as gardening, cooking, walking, coffee and sometimes an exit to the restaurant, exhibitions or theater/opera.

These are already a routine and repeated every weekend ... until a few days ago!

This small, invisible and treacherous enemy has invaded our world and pushes us towards a major crisis!

Unfortunately, we had to learn a new word: Coronavirus COVID-19!

Who would have thought this would happen and the lives of many of us would be affected. Now I mean the lucky ones we are not infected! Even so, we were suddenly forced to change our habits.

Because of this my sublime Sunday I spent it at home ... away from walks, cafes or shows.

How I Spent Sunday in Times of Pandemic, Trying Not to Meet My Little Enemies ...

I started with a clean air cure. I have a house on the outskirts of Bucharest, which I know you know is the capital of Romania. Fortunately, the house has a small yard where I try my gardening talents. I work now because it is spring and later I will be rewarded with flowers and the shade of trees!

The work in the garden is not easy but it is very pleasant. All the flowers thus cared for then delight us with their colors and beauty. My wife, who also has to stay home during this period is the most dedicated to working.

I dedicate myself more to contemplation. I am sensitive to the beauty of flowers ...

When I work, I exercise physically ... I'm always hungry. I try to take advantage of this activity situation outside the house to satisfy some small and innocent pleasures. I mean, I made a barbecue and cooked fish. The fish, besides the very pleasant taste, has a disadvantage (for some), it has a very strong specific smell. My wife can't stand the smell and that's why I rarely eat fish because I don't cook in the house.

A little outdoor activity and a grilled fish, Sunday was generous with me, I can say quietly that it is a beautiful Sunday. The good weather is almost over, we are still at the beginning of spring. A strong wind forced us to go inside.

What would be missing for the day to be great? A coffee, of course! I recently bought a machine to make milk foam. I like milk coffee.

Inside there can be a lot to do. As I mentioned at the beginning Sunday is made for rest so, for the rest of the day, I decided to do nothing. Nothing but watching TV. I need to know about the evolution of coronavirus infection.

Today, March 15, 2020 ... 162,687 diseases with COVID-19 have been confirmed in the world. A total of 6,065 dead and 75,620 were cured.

In Romania, there are 131 infected people. Many are isolated or quarantined. Overall they seem very few but it just started.

Starting with tomorrow morning, the state of emergency was established throughout the country. We have to stay at home for at least another two weeks and then, depending on how the epidemic evolved, other measures will be taken.

Everything seems to be an SF movie.

In these circumstances, it is very difficult to say that this Sunday was sublime. It was, in fact, every day is sublime as long as I didn't get sick or someone close to me. An illness would become problematic because we have been 66 years old and we are already part of the group for whom this disease can become fatal.

So far everything is fine and we keep the hope that it will end well. This blog wanted to show how we spent a Sunday in times of pandemic. This blog was inspired by the challenge launched by @ace108 and @c0ff33a!

I had a small backyard and my Sunday was similar to your 😊 I cleaned my home and after I worked in my small backyard where I have a plum tree full of flowers. The streets are desert for the Lockdown and so there was silence all around. Just me, my hubby, some cats and birds 😊

Very nice. Gardening is difficult but with many satisfactions.

Your Sunday sounds like mine. I spent it in my garden trying to enjoy the peacefulness of nature but feeling unsettled by the invisible virus slowly moving through the world. We've only had 32 cases in our state but it just started. Because of my health I'll be going into isolation to be safe. It's so strange to be gardening and looking forward to pretty flowers and spring while being so worried about something I can't see yet.
