Last Thursday I woke up feeling like eating something different from what this social isolation has forced me to do; so without further distraction I drove my car to the supermarket to buy some juicy smoked chops that I had not eaten for a long time; I left the store and went to a greengrocer to buy some fresh vegetables and fruits.

With the main ingredients on hand, all that remained was to return to the apartment and prepare my favorite meal. The decoration was made with red onion rings, red bell pepper strips, sweet chili peppers and parsley stems.

  • 1 ½ Cup of white rice,
  • 2 tomatoes,
  • 7 sweet peppers
  • ½ red or green bell pepper,
  • ½ purple onion,
  • ½ white onion,
  • 7 cloves of garlic,
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil,
  • 3 sprigs of parsley.

Preparation

First wash the chops and soak them for 10 minutes to desalinate them. Wash and chop the vegetables, except for the parsley and garlic.

Keeping the pan hot with the olive oil, add the vegetables and cover until the juices begin to drip and the aromatic flavors mingle.

As you can see in the sequence of images, once the smoked chops have been incorporated, they must be covered with the vegetables to prevent them from burning and their aromatic juices from soaking into the meat protein.

After 8 minutes have elapsed, turn the meat protein, following the same method used to incorporate it, i.e. keep the vegetables on top of the meat to prevent them from burning. Cover again and wait about 7 minutes to remove from the heat and serve.

And as you can see, the chops are ready to serve with juicy vegetables because we took care to keep them away from the bottom of the pan, so they received the fat from the protein and are great to eat.
