Versión en Español La estadística se puede definir en resumen como un método de investigación científica cuantitativo que te permite hacer análisis cualitativos de los datos que este presenta para la toma de decisiones, disminuyendo los riesgos e incertidumbre, permite analizar el comportamiento de fenómenos a partir de una muestra representativa de datos medibles. Ahora, enfocándolo en la práctica del contador público es una herramienta básica, necesaria e imprescindible para el desarrollo de la actividad. Ya que el contador se encarga de recopilar datos para que puedan ser analizados. Así que, estando consientes de la definición anterior, parte de los resultados que genera la contabilidad son datos estadísticos. Esto es crítico para generar alertar y aportar a la adecuada planeación y control.

La estadística puede ser una herramienta para la contabilidad, pero también es una herramienta necesaria para el análisis del contador luego de su tarea principal de generar un registro, ya que el análisis de los datos que el contador registra se fundamenta en un análisis estadístico. Se ha llegado a la conclusión de que la estadística como herramienta dentro de la contabilidad es de gran ayuda y aporte, ya que los análisis que permite realizar a través de la recolección de los datos que registra el contador es fundamental para la toma de decisiones y la generación de alertas para el correcto desarrollo, planificación y control de los diferentes objetivos que se puedan plantear en las organizaciones donde el contador hace vida profesional.
