My name is Donato but many of you call me Webdeals as this is a random nickname I have used invented when I was selling stuff on Ebay few years ago. I am Italian and I did graduate in Veterinary Science back in 2013. The same year after the summer time I had to decide what to do of my life as I had a couple of job offers in my city but none of them were something I wanted to do, so in September 2013 I decided to do a crazy thing, to pack all my clothes and university documents and to move to England where I am still living.

Like everyone the first step was London where I have spent about 3 weeks of my life trying to save as much money I could as I was looking for a job so I was using all my savings and trust me if you haven't been in London yet.. you won't understand how expensive is that city if you don't have a job.

Before my departure from Italy I have exchanged few emails with a private company that is hiring veterinarians with the only purpose of having them working in abattoirs as meat hygiene inspectors and then official veterinarians. In the mean time the were paying you little and making on your work lots of money but doesn't matter it was my first job had in UK so I didn't mind.

At that time I was travelling a lot in several places, from London I moved to Leeds, then in a village in the mountains of the Yorkshire, then Hereford where I settled for few months. In here I was struggling with my money as my income was just over 1k per month and I had to pay petrols, bills, rent etc... at the beginning of 2014 I ended up knowing BTC and the blockchain that for me were something not easy to understand.

How the hell I would be able to produce money using my own laptop?

That was the only question I had, but slightly it was working...getting little amount every day. I still remember back in that time there were not many powerful antminer machine... we had the PEN DRIVES... how many of you do remember does? I am still saving one for memory 😁

Whom like myself was using those for sure will be happy to see this photo. They had a led that was flashing all the time and I remember that I was keeping my laptop working at night and that light was annoying me pretty much ahahah.

I ended up mining using those usb pens that at that time were super high tech... then they had the bigger usb I don't remember how they called it... 1.2? or 1.6 but yeah. Fun time and this is the time I get closer to BTC and the blockchain. I even remember how many doge coins I was mining on my computer 😁 it was super easy to do at that time.

2- STEEM/HIVE

In 2016 I still remember one of those Ponzi scheme (called Ocean something) scammed me and many others for a total amount of 85 millions of dollars. After that I was so angry but for some reason the life brought me to a new platform where writing posts could remunerate me and perhaps I could get back some of the money lost in that scam.

This platform was Steemit and I joined them in June/July so just a couple of months after the platform was opened for a little number of people that we have always called Whales. I still remember their posts where for any single post they were earning 50k 40k 25k... it was crazy... like a dream became true. The STEEM at that time was only 1$ and then in less than 1 month it raised to 3$ or 3.5$ and then slightly dropped down until 6 cents few months later. I still remember how everyone, including myself, was trying to make new friends in between the Whales to have big rewards. My highest reward was a post in Amsterdam where I did earn about 850 dollars. My first approach was helping with some translation @kencode that was creating a wallet at that time. I do remember other friends that earned a lot of money like @claudiop63 or another one that published how she moved from youtube to Steemit to present all her food recipes and she had 17k dollars.
Several HFs after killed a bit what was the beauty of the project and not many people were writing but only few people had the strength to keep accruing their Steem Power. I recall a clever guy that I met in 2018 @starkerz that invested in Steemit and it raised again in 2017/2018 so he did the right move. I was lazy and not so motivated to write a post that was giving me 20 cents (looking back I am thinking how idiot I have been). I couldn't invest money as I didn't have them remember I have always been doing the immigrant in UK and my salary was always around 1k per month so the max I could save per month was 100 or 200 if I wasn't going out for bars the weekend.

If I am still here is because of some Italians with who I have been in contact since that period like @bhuz or @cheftony that were on Steemit since the beginning and with who a friendship is still in place 😁. Another person I should thank for what has done for me is @steempty and I will never stop thanking him for his support he has given to me.

3- Italian Community

In 2017 just before the BTC bullrun and consequent Steem's rise, me and other people saw many Italians reaching Steemit and therefore we decided to give a support to a community where also whom wasn't able to write in English could have space and a voice so we decided to create a community that was helping eachother... we were very connected and supportive but something didn't work well and some people left for some misunderstandings I believe. I had my vote given as a curation trail to give a little help to all of those that needed a little push and I still remember that my vote was 35$ back in June 2017 before the HF 18 or 19 I don't remember now so I could help many people. I haven't had any problem with anyone and I think I have still the sympathy of all of those are still writing on HIVE. As soon the Fork to create HIVE was created I have decided to move to HIVE, nothing wrong with Justin Sun but I owe everything I have to all my friends that were migrating to HIVE so it was to me the right move. So all the Italian community moved also in HIVE and we are still trying to support each other.

4 - Why I would like to be a leader?

I think that a leader should be someone that will represent the Italian community, someone that has a bit of knowledge (not compulsory IT knowledge) but someone that could represent us not only in Italy but also abroad having international meetings because let's talk seriously, HIVE will reach the moon if the mass will understand the potential behind that.

I didn't propose myself until now because I wasn't sure it would have been the right move, I mean I wanted to discuss with few Italians before to try to understand whom will be the right candidate. In this post written by a good friend of mine @miti he proposed myself and @fedesox as possible leader and I was also thinking fede would have been a good candidate. What I think could happen is, we establish for example a leader, like myself if this will be accepted by the mass, and then we create a TEAM with who I will closely work. Every member of this team will have the same possibility of deciding what we should do and in a democratic way we will make our proposal di @theycallmedan if we think something will need to be changed.

6- Why I should be a good candidate?

I know quite a bit of Steemit and now Hive, I knew few people and I can fluently speak 3 languages such as Italian, Spanish and English that for sure will help in an international projects like HIVE.

7- What shall I do as leader?

The main purpose of a leader would be to organise meetings here and there in Italy and abroad in order to PROMOTE HIVE and to bring more people in our community so the bigger we will be the better for our platform will be.

1- Introduzione

Mi chiamo Donato ma molti di voi mi conoscete come Webdeals, uni nickname che ho creato quando all'epoca vendevo un po' di tutto su Ebay. Sono un Italiano, nato a Bari, laureato in Medicina Veterinaria nel 2013. Lo stesso anno, subito dopo il periodo estivo ho preso la decisione di fare un cambio radicale alla mia vita e nonostante avessi un paio di opportunita' lavorative, ho deciso che non volevo considerarle e quindi a Settembre 2013 ho fatto le valigie e sono partito alla volta del Regno Unito dove tutt'ora vivo e lavoro.

Come succede per tutti, il primo posto dove sono stato e' stata Londra, dove ho speso circa 3 settimane della mia vita cercando di risparmiare quanti piu' soldi possibili visto che non avevo ancora un lavoro e stavo utilizzando tutti i miei risparmi. Per chi non fosse mai andato a Londra, beh ve lo dico io... se non avete un lavoro, e' massacrante proprio vi succhia l'anima per quanto e' costosa.

Prima della mia partenza dall'Italia, mi ero scambiato delle emails con una compagnia privata che assume veterinari con l'unico scopo di metterli a lavorare nei macelli come ispettori dell'igiene della carte e poi veterinari ufficiali. Loro quindi essendo una compagnia che fa da tramite col Governo Britannico, loro ti riconoscono una 1/3 e si trattengono 2/3 di quello che ti spetta ma era il mio primo lavoro quindi sti cavoli.

All'inizio ho viaggiato moltissimo da Londra sono andato a Leeds, poi in un villaggio microscopico nelle colline dello Yorkshire (dove ho anche pianto per la solitudine) per poi finire a Hereford dove poi mi sono sistemato per qualche mese. Li stavo facendo fatica a campare, mi veniva riconosciuto uno stipendio leggermente piu' alto di 1000 sterline al mese e con quei soldi dovevo pagare, affitto, bollette, benzina, ricarica al telefono etc...cosi all'inizio del 2014 sono finito a scoprire il BTC e la blockchain che per me erano qualcosa di difficile da capire. In particolare la domanda che mi ponevo era:

Come cavolo e' possibile che posso produrre soldi usando il mio pc?

Quella era l'unica domanda che avevo ma lentamente quello stava funzionando... ottenevo piccoli frazioni di btc ogni giorno. Ancora ricordo che a quel tempo non c'erano tutti sti macchinari super potenti generati da antminer etc... quello che si usava erano una sequela di penne USB che facevano dei calcoli CPU molto piu' alti rispetto a quello che un normale pc poteva fare. Ancora ne ho una da parte come ricordo.

Chi come me usava queste pennette sicuramente sara' felice di vedere questa foto. In alto a destra potete vedere anche un piccolo led che era rosso e verde in base a quello che stava facendo... e vi assicuro l'ho odiato in modo profondo perche' lasciando il pc acceso nella mia stanza mentre cercavo di dormire avevo sto led che mi dava un fastidio assurdo.

Poi hanno creato altre penne USB piu' potenti che si chiamavano 1.2 o 1.6 ora non ricordo. Cmq era bello e ricordo quel tempo anche perche' minai un sacco di Dogecoin come se non ci fosse un domani 😁.

2- STEEM/HIVE

Nel 2016 ancora ricordo uno schema ponzi (chiamato Ocean qualcosa) che ha scammato me e molti altri per un totale di 85 milioni di dollari e dopo di cio' io ero cosi arrabbiato ma per qualche ragione la vita mi ha portato a conoscere una nuova piattaforma dove scrivendo dei posts potevo essere remunerato e forse potevo riprendere qualche soldo perso nello scam.

Questa piattaforma era Steemit ed entrai a far parte della community a Giugno/Luglio di quell'anno, giusto un paio di mesi dopo che la piattaforma fu aperta per un piccolo numero di persone che oggi chiamiamo Balene. Ancora mi ricordo che i loro posts raggiungevano valori di 50 mila dollari, 25mila, 40 mila... cifre assurde ma che hanno fatto si che si formassero queste balene e sembrava un sogno, scrivi e ottieni una barca di soldi. Steem a quel tempo valeva 1 dollari ma ben presto in meno di 1 mese, raggiunse anche 3.5 dollari per poi crollare fino a 6 centesimi diversi mesi dopo. Ancora ricordo come chiunque, incluse me stesso, stava cercando di farsi nuovi amici tra le balene per poter ottenere delle reward interessanti. Il mio post piu' remunerativo fu uno creato sul viaggio fatto ad Amsterdam dove guadagnai circa 850 dollari. Un'altra cosa che ricordo come fosse ieri fu il mio primo appproccio con Steemit, conobbi una persona che si chiama @kencode che cercava persone per fare traduzioni in diverse lingue per il portafoglio che stava creando. Ricordo anche amici che fecero un sacco di soldi con post molto piu' remunerati del mio come il grandissimo @claudiop63 oppure una ragazza il cui nickname inizia per yummy... che ottenne al suo primo post 17mila dollari solo perche' si stava presentando, diceva che aveva lasciato youtube o che voleva spostare il tutto anche su steemit e quindi ebbe una reward da paura.

Dopo diversi hard fork, iniziarono a massacrare la bellezza del progetto e non molte persone continuavano a scrivere ed accumulare steem power quando ormai il valore era a 6 centesimi. Ricordo un ragazzo molto intelligente che ho incontrato qui in Inghilterra @starkerz che ha avuto la prontezza di investire in steemit prima della bullrun che c'e' stata nel 2017/18. Io purtroppo mi mangio ancora le mani per non aver investito all'epoca quando valeva solo 6 centesimi ma purtroppo come avrete capito il mio stipendio non mi permetteva di mettere soldi da parte.

Sono ancora qui per via di alcuni italiani con cui sono stato in contatto dal 2016 come @bhuz e come @cheftony che mi hanno sempre dato ottimi consigli e con cui credo di avere ancora un'ottima amicizia/stima nonostante non ci si senta mai. Un'altra persona che devo ringraziare per il supporto datomi e' @steemty che non smettero' mai di ringraziare per tutto quello che ha fatto negli anni.

3- Comunita' Italiana

Nel 2017 giusto prima della bullrun del BTC e conseguente salita del valore di Steem, io ed altre persone abbiam visto che la comunita' italiana stava crescendo e quindi ci siam detti che dovevamo aiutare i nostri connazionali anche perche' non tutti sapevano scrivere in Inglese e quindi non volevamo che loro venissero penalizzati per questo. Ci siamo uniti ad aiutare tutti infatti all'inizio tutto funzionava benissimo e ci si aiutava a vicenda ma poi qualcosa e' successo ed il giocattolo si e' rotto a causa di alcune incomprensioni.

All'epoca il mio voto era in un trailer automatico che votava tutti e nel 2017 un mio voto al 100% valeva 35 dollari... non i 40 centesimi che vale adesso. Da allora non molti sono rimasti ma credo di godere ancora la simpatia di molti di loro a cui ho dato una mano senza chiedere nulla in cambio.

Subito dopo il fork dove e' stato creato HIVE io ho deciso di lasciare steemit e di muovermi qui per poter supportare tutti gli amici che si erano mossi da una parte all'altra. Non ho nulla contro Justin Sun ma non mi andava di lasciare quelli con cui sono cresciuto.

4- Perchè dovrei essere un leader?

Io credo che un leader dovrebbe essere qualcuno che rappresenti la comunita' Italiana, qualcuno che abbia un po' di conoscenze (non per forza conoscenze informatiche) ma qualcuno che rappresenti tutti noi non solo in Italia ma anche all'estero facendo meetings internazionali perche' parliamoci seriamente, HIVE raggiungera' la luna se la massa capira' il suo potenziale.

Non mi sono proposto fino ad ora perche non ero sicuro di voler prendere questa posizione, cioe' volevo discuterne prima con alcuni Italiani per capire prima ci potesse essere il migliore candidato.

In questo post scritto da un caro amico @miti lui ha proposto sia me che @fedesox come possibili leader ed anche io penso che fede possa essere un ottimo candidato. Cosa penso potremmo fare e', decidere se si puo' avere un leader unico (visto che ne vogliono solo 1) quindi mi propongo per tale scopo se per voi va bene chiaramente, e poi bisogna creare un TEAM alle spalle con cui si lavorera' in modo veramente stretto. Mi piacerebbe sicuramente avere @fedesox e @miti come membri visto che sono SEMPRE stati attivi per la community ma penso che ci sara' spazio anche per altri anche perche' io non riuscirei a gestire tutto da solo.

Ogni membro di questo team avra' voce in capitolo ed in modo democratico deideremo che proposte fare a @theycallmedan.

6- Perche' penso di essere un buon candidato?

Conosco abbastanza bene i meccanismi di Steemit ed adesso di Hive, ho diverse conoscenze e parlo in modo fluido 3 lingue come Italiano, Inglese e Spagnolo che sicuramente potranno essermi d'aiuto in meetings internazionali o progetti vari che potranno esser creati da HIVE.

7- Cosa dovro' fare come Leader?

Beh l'obbiettivo e' quello di organizzare incontri qui e li in Italia ed all'estero per far conoscere alla massa HIVE perche' piu' gente lo conoscera' e piu' sara' popolare e piu' persone magari vorranno investirci e quindi potremmo farlo arrivare fino alla Luna.
