The Walking Dead ends early this season but it was a good finale (ENG - ITA)

It's been a special year for The Walking Dead.
The first 10 episodes were a real bust.
Slow, repetitive and as always lacking in substance also sinned in one of the few things that Kirkman's TV series had always managed to preserve, action and some great episodes every season.
Instead, there were 10 flat episodes that had led many to quit the TV series after 10 years.
To everyone's surprise there was an incredible and unexpected turnaround.
Alpha and Negan were the beating heart of this rebirth, testifying that the real protagonists of the show became the villains and no longer the survivors we had learned to love since the first seasons.
Carol and Michonne are perhaps the last 2 characters to pay attention to and offer benevolence and affection.
Daryl remains a historical character to be loved for what he is but certainly not because he was never really well characterized by the authors.
Michonne's goodbye was emotionally less impacting than other goodbyes but it was certainly a turning point for the future of the franchise.
The fate of Alpha was the biggest surprise both because it was unexpected and because it was fundamentally well thought out behind the scenes and off screen.
Negan remains the overall winner.
With him on stage everything makes more sense.
Little to say about the rest except that everyone seems to have benefited from the shock related to the latest events.
The season ended with the fifteenth episode instead of the usual 15. The covid-19 has out of sync with the production plans. The real season finale will air in a few months as a special episode.

E' stato un anno particolare questo per The Walking Dead.
I primi 10 episodi sono stati un vero buco nell'acqua.
Lenti, ripetitivi e come sempre privi di grossa sostanza hanno anche peccato in una delle poche cose che la serie tv di Kirkman da sempre era riuscita a preservare, azione e qualche ottimo episodio ogni stagione.
Erano invece stati 10 episodi piatti e che avevano indotto molti a mollare la serie tv dopo 10 anni.
Con sorpresa di tutti c'è stata un incredibile ed insperata inversione di rotta.
Alpha e Negan hanno costituito il cuore pulsante di questa rinascita, a testimonianza che i veri protagonisti dello show son diventati i villain e non più i sopravvissuti che avevamo imparato ad amare sin dalle prime stagioni.
Carol e Michonne sono rimasti forse gli ultimi 2 personaggi a cui prestare attenzione e offrire benevolenza e affetto.
Daryl resta un personaggio storico da amare per quel che è ma non certo perchè sia stato mai davvero ben caratterizzato dagli autori.
L'addio di Michonne è stato emotivamente meno impattante di altri addii ma è stato sicuramente un punto di svolta per il futuro del franchise.
La sorte di Alpha è stata la sorpresa più grande sia perchè inattesa sia perchè fondamentalmente ben congegnata seppure dietro le quinte ed off screen.
Negan resta il vincitore assoluto.
Con lui in scena tutto ha più senso.
Poco da dire sul resto se non che tutti sembrano aver beneficiato della scossa relativa agli ultimi eventi.
La stagione si è conclusa con il quindicesimo episodio anzichè i consueti 15. Il covid-19 ha sfasato i piani della produzione. Il vero finale di stagione andrà in onda fra qualche mese sotto forma di episodio speciale.
