Ma non dovevamo "italianizzare" le radio italiano?

Sanremo is Sanremo and controversy is the daily bread of the most famous singing competition in Italy.

This year, however, the post-festival discussions have taken on surreal and worrying connotations that have ended up revealing all the smallness, self-harm and absurdity of the Italian people and their leaders, their elected representatives.

Already the people. Those people who are now being called into question every time they want to legitimize a choice or an idea that with common sense punches them in the face.

It happened with the televoting this year, which has become one and only way to validate and legitimize the best song. As if the people are the only ones who know music, appreciate it, understand it. The victories of Valerio Scanu, Emma Marrone and Marco Carta, then idols of the followers of musical talent, are here to testify that the people of music understand little or nothing and follow, as always, the fashions, the masses, the instincts. On those 3 occasions only the sovereign people voted and look how it ended.

Our politicians immediately did their best to put themselves at the head of the caravan pro televoto, citing as their motivation the unquestionable judgment of the people.

Ridiculous controversy, devoid of analysis and deepening, but until yesterday it had remained only a controversy.

Since yesterday it has become a social drama with the news that the League and the Minister of the Interior Salvini have devised a bill to protect Italian music.
If the law were to pass all radio stations would be obliged to "pass" at least 33% of songs in Italian. One song out of 3 would have to be Italian. This would be a way to preserve, publicize and safeguard the Italian genius, because by now we know "Italians first".

A law that would violate the constitution first of all that in article 33 states, among other things:

Art and science are free and free is its teaching.
The institutions of high culture, universities and academies, have the right to give themselves autonomous systems within the limits established by the laws of the State.
Do you know when was the last and only time that radios were regulated and controlled by the Italian State?

In Fascism. Benito Mussolini realized that the radio was an instrument capable of reaching the hearts and heads of Italians and he began to use it as he liked, inserting propaganda messages and making room for songs like "Giovinezza" and forcing the radios to host members of the Fascist party on a regular basis.

The Leghista law is worrying, it is worrying even the mere thought that someone might have elaborated it. It violates the principles of freedom of expression and is configured as a method of control of a medium that reaches about 30 million Italians.

Think of a radio as "Radiofreccia" that in just 2 years of life has established itself as one of the most appreciated radios. Radiofreccia does not broadcast Italian music but only rock music in English. An editorial choice that has paid high dividends in terms of listening and quality. Swept away by trap singers, musicians from social and "talents" from talent and space to Pink Floyd, Queen, Dire Straits, Rolling Stone, Creedance Clearwater Revivale and space to emerging rock music with Greeta Van Fleet, Florence & the Machine, Balthazar and many others.

Tomorrow Radiofreccia should by law sweep away its idea of music and broadcast 1 song out of 3 in Italian, against its principles, against its corporate strategy, against its musical tastes, betraying even its audience.

What if tomorrow someone wants to found a jazz radio with pure and hard jazz made in the U.S.A.? They would still have to do their best to broadcast 33% of Italian jazz music, if it exists.

The bill is worrying and takes us into a dimension typical of regimes. It is not by chance that it is expressed by a party that in words and deeds in a few months is demolishing many civil rights and not only and that has repeatedly used the stick against migrants, homosexuals and has, in the name of the people and the homeland, repeatedly developed nationalist theses, which have nothing patriotic.

But let's not think about that, guys.

Let's shoot music at a ball, or rather, at full speed and everything will be fine.

Life isn't a train. It's a shit tornado full of gold..png
