Éstos se han escrito para que creáis que Jesús es el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios, y para que, creyendo, tengáis vida en su nombre.

     Hoy, domingo 11 de abril de 2021, doy gracias a Dios por permitirme un año mas de vida. ¡Gracias Padre, por tu amor, por tu bondad y por tu misericordia! Gracias, Señor, porque hoy celebro mi cumpleaños sintiéndome bien de salud, lleno de alegría y de felicidad al lado de mi esposa y mis hijos gemelos que están junto a mi, gracias por mi hijo mayor y mi nieta, que aunque no están cerca de mi la tecnología nos une, gracias por mi nieto que aunque cerca también está lejos pero unido en sentimientos puros con lazos fraternos de amor. Gracias por mis familiares y amigos que están dentro y fuera del País que me hacen sentir vivo por tantas muestras de respeto y cariño. Gracias por la vida, gracias por permitirme la dicha de creer en Ti. ¡Gracias Señor, Gracias!

     En el Evangelio de hoy San Juan nos lleva a imaginarnos un ambiente de incertidumbre, tristeza y miedo y nos ubica dentro de una casa con las puertas cerrada por temor a los judíos y dentro de esa casa los discípulos de quien había sido crucificado, Jesús de Nazaret. En ese triste y lúgubre lugar aparece la Luz del mundo y los destella a todos, aparece resucitado, vivo y lleno de la Gloria de Dios, el Mesías, él mismo que había prometido levantar el templo en tres días y lo cumplió, resucitó de entre los muertos al tercer día, venciendo a la muerte y llenándonos a todos de la esperanza de vivir, porque todo el que creé en Jesús aunque haya muerto vivirá para siempre. ¡Si Cristo no hubiera resucitado vana sería nuestra fe!

     San Juan nos muestra una comunidad asustada, encerrada, temerosa y llena de incertidumbres porque le habían crucificado a su Señor, esto nos lleva a reflexionar que sin Cristo nada somos, es Él, Jesús de Nazaret, quien nos sustenta, quien nos ilumina, nos da la fe que necesitamos para vencer el miedo, nos motiva a abrir las puertas, salir del encierro y nos ayuda a enfrentar la vida. Una comunidad sin Cristo está muerta, una comunidad con Cristo vive para siempre.

     Jesús lo primero que hace al aparecerse en esa casa cerrada es saludarlos, calmarlos, bajarles el grado de angustia y de estrés trayéndole la paz a sus vidas, paz a sus corazones afligidos, y llenándolos de fe, de ánimo y de esperanza, de alegría suprema porque su Señor está vivo. Luego Jesús resucitado les envía al mundo a predicar sin miedo, con la frente en alto, convencidos de que están en el camino correcto: «Paz a vosotros. Como el Padre me ha enviado, así también os envío yo.» inmediatamente les dijo: «Recibid el Espíritu Santo; a quienes les perdonéis los pecados, les quedan perdonados; a quienes se los retengáis, les quedan retenidos.» palabras que se cumplen desde aquel glorioso día, palabras vivas que hoy los discípulos actuales de Jesús siguen con ese legado vivo.

     Por último, el Evangelio de San Juan nos narra la incredulidad de Tomás, quien en el momento que se apareció Jesús no estaba con los demás, pero lo grande de la historia es que ocho días después de aquel acontecimiento maravilloso, el Mesías se vuelve a aparecer y esta vez Tomás está presente y es tal su sorpresa que solo alcanza a exclamar *«¡Señor mío y Dios mío!» pero Jesús le deja una lección que los cristianos no olvidaremos jamás: "Dichosos los que crean sin haber visto."

Lectura del Santo Evangelio según San Juan (20,19-31):

Al anochecer de aquel día, el primero de la semana, estaban los discípulos en una casa, con las puertas cerradas por miedo a los judíos.
Y en esto entró Jesús, se puso en medio y les dijo: «Paz a vosotros.»
Y, diciendo esto, les enseñó las manos y el costado. Y los discípulos se llenaron de alegría al ver al Señor.
Jesús repitió: «Paz a vosotros. Como el Padre me ha enviado, así también os envío yo.»
Y, dicho esto, exhaló su aliento sobre ellos y les dijo: «Recibid el Espíritu Santo; a quienes les perdonéis los pecados, les quedan perdonados; a quienes se los retengáis, les quedan retenidos.»
Tomás, uno de los Doce, llamado el Mellizo, no estaba con ellos cuando vino Jesús.
Y los otros discípulos le decían: «Hemos visto al Señor.»
Pero él les contestó: «Si no veo en sus manos la señal de los clavos, si no meto el dedo en el agujero de los clavos y no meto la mano en su costado, no lo creo.»
A los ocho días, estaban otra vez dentro los discípulos y Tomás con ellos.
Llegó Jesús, estando cerradas las puertas, se puso en medio y dijo: «Paz a vosotros.»
Luego dijo a Tomás: «Trae tu dedo, aquí tienes mis manos; trae tu mano y métela en mi costado; y no seas incrédulo, sino creyente.»
Contestó Tomás: «¡Señor mío y Dios mío!»
Jesús le dijo: «¿Porque me has visto has creído? Dichosos los que crean sin haber visto.»
Muchos otros signos, que no están escritos en este libro, hizo Jesús a la vista de los discípulos. Éstos se han escrito para que creáis que Jesús es el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios, y para que, creyendo, tengáis vida en su nombre.

     Today, Sunday, April 11, 2021, I thank God for allowing me one more year to live. Thank you Father, for your love, for your goodness and for your mercy! Thank you, Lord, because today I celebrate my birthday feeling good health, full of joy and happiness next to my wife and my twin children who are next to me, thank you for my eldest son and my granddaughter, who although they are not close to My technology unites us, thank you for my grandson who, although close, is also far away but united in pure feelings with fraternal bonds of love. Thank you for my family and friends who are inside and outside the country who make me feel alive because of so many expressions of respect and affection. Thank you for life, thank you for allowing me the happiness of believing in You. Thank you Lord, Thank you!

     In today's Gospel Saint John leads us to imagine an environment of uncertainty, sadness and fear and places us inside a house with the doors closed for fear of the Jews and inside that house the disciples of the one who had been crucified, Jesus of Nazareth. In that sad and gloomy place the Light of the world appears and flashes them all, appears risen, alive and full of the Glory of God, the Messiah, himself who had promised to raise the temple in three days and fulfilled it, rose from the the dead on the third day, conquering death and filling us all with the hope of living, because everyone who believed in Jesus, even if he died, will live forever. If Christ had not risen, our faith would be vain!

     Saint John shows us a frightened community, locked up, fearful and full of uncertainties because their Lord had been crucified, this leads us to reflect that without Christ we are nothing, it is He, Jesus of Nazareth, who sustains us, who enlightens us, It gives the faith we need to overcome fear, it motivates us to open doors, get out of confinement, and helps us face life. A community without Christ is dead, a community with Christ lives forever.

     The first thing Jesus does when he appears in that closed house is to greet them, calm them, lower the degree of anguish and stress, bringing peace to their lives, peace to their afflicted hearts, and filling them with faith, encouragement and hope, with joy. supreme because their Lord is alive. Then the risen Jesus sends them into the world to preach without fear, with their heads held high, convinced that they are on the right path: «Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." Immediately he said to them: "Receive the Holy Spirit; those who forgive their sins, they are forgiven; to whom you retain them, they are retained.” words that have been fulfilled since that glorious day, living words that today the current disciples of Jesus continue with that living legacy.

     Finally, the Gospel of Saint John tells us of the incredulity of Thomas, who at the time that Jesus appeared was not with the others, but the great thing about the story is that eight days after that wonderful event, the Messiah returns to appear and this time Thomas is present and his surprise is such that he only manages to exclaim *"My Lord and my God!" but Jesus leaves him a lesson that we Christians will never forget: "Blessed are that they believe without having seen."

Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Saint John (20,19-31):

At dusk on that day, the first of the week, the disciples were in a house, with the doors closed for fear of the Jews.
And in this Jesus entered, stood in the middle and said to them: "Peace be with you."
And, saying this, he showed them his hands and his side. And the disciples were overjoyed to see the Lord.
Jesus repeated: «Peace to you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you. "
And, having said this, he exhaled his breath on them and said: "Receive the Holy Spirit; those who forgive their sins, they are forgiven; those who retain them, they are retained. "
Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.
And the other disciples said to him: "We have seen the Lord."
But he replied: "If I don't see the mark of the nails on your hands, if I don't put my finger in the nail hole and I don't put my hand into his side, I don't think so."
After eight days, the disciples were inside again and Thomas with them.
Jesus arrived, the doors were closed, stood in the middle and said: "Peace be with you."
Then he said to Thomas: «Bring your finger, here are my hands; bring your hand and put it in my side; and do not be an unbeliever, but a believer. "
Thomas replied: "My Lord and my God!"
Jesus said to him: «Because you have seen me, have you believed? Blessed are those who believe without seeing."
Many other signs, which are not written in this book, did Jesus in the sight of the disciples. These have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and so that, believing, you may have life in his name.
