Tortisian Fighter: Battle Strategy and Considerations
Hello friends,
the protagonist of this post is the Tortisian Fighter card, a card that I use very rarely but that can be useful in battles that have certain battle rules.

Card: Tortisian Fighter
Description, Statistics and Skills
Tortisian Fighter is a card from the Untamed collection, is a Common card and is a card of the element Water.
Level 1 Tortisian Fighter has the following stats:
- Has a low mana cost (4)
- Has 2 attack points
- Has 3 life points and 1 armor point.
- Has a very low speed (1)
- It has no skills until he reaches level 4.
Cost, Levels and Evaluations
- Level 4: Increases its armor points (1 -> 2), increases its speed points (1 -> 2) and acquires a new ability: Repair.
- Level 8: Increases its armor points (2 -> 4) and acquires a new ability: Repair.
- Level 10 (Max level): Increases his life points (3 -> 4), increases his attack points (2 -> 3).
The level that I think has the best cost / benefit ratio is the fourth level.
The Repair skill is a great skill but spending $ 8.36 on a card that attacks only from the first position doesn't seem very convenient to me also because there are better cards to buy at that price.
Tortisian Fighter-friendly Fighting Rules
Not paying due attention to combat rules often equates to losing a battle.
Below are the combat rules that favor the choice and use of Tortisian Fighter in battle.
Little League
According to this battle rule, deployable monsters are only those with a mana cost equal to or less than four.
This rule restricts the number of cards you can choose from and Tortisian Fighter becomes a possible choice.
Melee Mayhem
There are many cards that play better than Tortisian Fighter in first position.
When the battle rule is Melee Mayhem, Tortisian Fighter can attack from any position and therefore can be deployed in a position less exposed to opponent attacks.
Super Sneak
According to the battle rule Super Sneak Tortisian Fighter can attack from any position and will always attack the card that is in last position.
Tortisian Fighter is a fragile card and being able to deploy it in a position other than the first is an advantage.
Reverse Speed
In this circumstance Tortisian Fighter loses one of its defects (low speed) and acquires a maximum speed and can easily dodge many attacks.

- Close Range: Cards with distance attack can also attack from the first position.
- Lost Leggendaries: Legendary cards cannot be used in battle.

Initial Statistics
In general, I always choose a balanced battle for the Share your Battle contest.
In this battle, however, I start with a slight advantage relative to the attack points of my battle formation.

My battle formation
First position
My Tortisian Fighter is level one.
Why did I choose Tortisian Fighter?
It is the only possible position in which to deploy Tortisian Fighter because it attacks only from the first position.
Honestly, I chose Tortisian Fighter only because it is the protagonist of the Splinterlands weekly contest. I have much better cards to put in first place.
In the first position speed is important and Tortisian Fighter has a speed equal to 1.
Second position
Why did I choose Dragon Jumper?
A very useful neutral card especially because it has a very low cost in terms of mana.
It also has a Slow ability that can slow the speed of opposing cards by one.
I put Creeping Ooze in second position to protect Sea Genie in case my opponent deploys a card with the "Reach" ability in second position or if he deploys a card with the "Snipe" ability.
Third position
Has an average mana cost (5) and has a good basic magic attack (2).
Thanks to summoner Alric Stormbringher its attack increases by one unit (2 -> 3)
It has a low speed (1).
It has 5 life points.
Thanks to Crustacean king's Protect ability, he gains 2 armor points.
Has a Flying ability:
Why did I choose Sea Genie?
Not being able to field legendary cards, it was one of my three possible choices and perhaps the best.
Fourth position
Why did I choose Crustacean King?
Crustacean King is the real battle star of this post.
It costs only 3 Mana and has two abilities: Tank Heal and Protect.
It is thanks to the Tank Heal ability that Sea Genie resists the repeated attacks of the opposing cards.
Fifth position
Why did I choose Furious Chicken?
The most famous chicken in Splinterlands :)
It's a really useful card.
It is a card that I almost always deploy in last position.
Very useful to protect the card in penultimate position from a distance attack.
Summoner
It is one of my favorites.
Thanks to his ability all my cards with magic attack get one more attack point.
Final thoughts
Battle sequence
ROUND 2
At the beginning of round 2 the difference between the total (life points + armor points) between me and my opponent decreases (goes from +9 to +4).
Tortisian Fighter proves not to be a very useful card in first position especially when the opponent sets up cards with magic attack.
Due to the low speed (1) Tortisian Fighter is eliminated in the first round without having completed a single attack.
ROUND 6
The battle remains in substantial balance until round 5 and ends in round 6.
The card that was most important to win the battalgia is: Crustacean King.
Without Crustacena King's healing ability and protective ability I could have lost the battle against @cailean.
Tortisian Fighter considerations
Tortisian Fighter is a card I have never used before participating in this week's "Share Your Battle" contest.
The reason?
It has three major flaws:
- attack only from the first position
- has a low speed (big defect for a card to be deployed in first position)
- has few life points (another major flaw for a card to be deployed in first position)
The low speed together with the few life points make it a very fragile card to be deployed in first position and unfortunately the first position is the only position from which Tortisian Fighter attacks.
I have better cards to deploy in first position like:
It is a card that can be useful in particular in the initial leagues of Splinterlands and therefore for new players who have fewer cards to choose from.

Carta: Tortisian Fighter
Descrizione, Statistiche e Abilità
Tortisian Fighter è una carta delle collezione Untamed, è una carta Comune ed è una carta dell'elemento Acqua.
Tortisian Fighter di livello 1 ha le seguenti statistiche:
- Ha un costo in mana basso (4)
- Ha 2 punti di attacco
- Ha 3 punti vita e 1 punto armatura.
- Ha una velocità molto bassa (1)
- Non ha abilità fin quando non raggiunge il livello 4.
Costo, Livelli e Valutazioni
- Level 4: Aumenta i suoi punti armatura (1 --> 2), aumenta i suoi punti velocità (1 --> 2) e acquisisce una nuova abilità: Shield.
- Level 8: Aumenta i suoi punti armatura (2 --> 4) e acquisisce una nuova abilità: Repair.
- Level 10 (Max level): Aumenta i suoi punti vita (3 --> 4), aumenta i suoi punti di attacco (2 --> 3).
Il livello che secondo me ha il miglior rapporto costi / benefici è il quarto livello.
L'abilità Repair è un'ottima abilità ma spendere 8.36 $ per una carta che attacca solo dalla prima posizione non mi sembra molto conveniente anche perchè ci sono carte migliori da comprare a quel prezzo.
Regole di Combattimento favorevoli a Tortisian Fighter
Non prestare la dovuta attenzione alle regole di combattimento equivale spesso a perdere una battaglia.
Di seguito ci sono le regole di combattimento che favoriscono la scelta e l'utilizzo in battaglia di Tortisian Fighter.
Little League
In base a questa regola di battaglia i mostri schierabili sono solo quelli con un costo in mana uguale o inferiore a quattro.
Questa regola restringe il numero di carte da poter scegliere e Tortisian Fighter diventa una possibile scelta.
Melee Mayhem
Ci sono molte carte che giocano meglio di Tortisian Fighter in prima posizione.
Quando la regola di battaglia è Melee Mayhem, Tortisian Fighter può attaccare da qualsiasi posizione e quindi può diventare una possibile scelta.
Super Sneak
In base alla regola di battaglia Super Sneak Tortisian Fighter può attaccare da qualsiasi posizione e attaccherà sempre la carta che si trova in ultima posizione.
Reverse Speed
In questa circostanza Tortisian Fighter perde uno dei suoi difetti (la bassa velocità) e acquisisce una velocità massima e può schivare con facilità molti attacchi.
Adesso vediamo come si comporta Tortisian Fighter sul campo di Battaglia e approfondiamo il discorso sul suo utilizzo.

Statistiche Iniziali
In genere per il contest Share your Battle scelgo sempre una battaglia equilibrata.
In questa battaglia invece parto con un leggero vantaggio relativo ai punti di attacco della mia formazione di battaglia.
La battaglia è comunque interessante e avere un vantaggio statistico iniziale non porta sempre ad una vittoria...
La mia formazione di battaglia
Prima posizione
Il mio Tortisian Fighter è di livello uno.
Perchè ho scelto Tortisian Fighter?
E' l'unica posizione possibile in cui schierare Tortisian Fighter perchè attacca solo dalla prima posizione.
Sinceramente ho scelto Tortisian Fighter unicamente perchè è il protagonista del contest settimanale di Splinterlands. Ho carte decisamente migliori da schierare in prima posizione.
Nella prima posizione la velocità è importante e Tortisian Fighter ha una velocità uguale a 1.
Seconda posizione
Perchè ho scelto Dragon Jumper?
Una carta neutrale molto utile soprattutto perchè ha un costo in termini di mana molto basso.
Ha anche un'abilità (Slow) in grado di rallentare di un'unità le carte avversarie.
Ho messo Creeping Ooze in seconda posizione per proteggere Sea Genie nel caso il mio avversario schiera in seconda posizione una carta con l'abilità "Reach" oppure se schiera una carta con l'abilità "Snipe".
Terza posizione
Ha un costo in mana medio (5) e ha un buon attacco magico di base (2)
Grazie all'evocatore Alric Stormbringher il suo attacco aumenta di una unità ( 2 -> 3 )
Ha una velocità bassa (1).
Ha 5 punti vita.
Grazie all'abilità Protect di Crustacean king acquisisce 2 punti armatura.
Ha un'abilità Flying:
Perchè ho scelto Sea Genie?
Non potendo schierare carte leggendarie era una delle mie tre possibili scelte e forse la migliore.
Quarta posizione
Perchè ho scelto Crustacean King?
Crustacean King è la vera star della battaglia di questo post.
Costa solo 3 Mana e ha due abilità: Tank Heal e Protect.
E' grazie all'abilità Tank Heal che Sea Genie resiste ai ripetuti attacchi delle carte avversarie.
Quinta posizione
Perchè ho scelto Furious Chicken?
Il pollo più famoso di Splinterlands :)
E' una carta davvero utile.
E' una carta che schiero quasi sempre in ultima posizione.
Molto utile per proteggere la carta in penultima posizione da un attacco dalla distanza.
Evocatore
E' uno dei miei preferiti.
Grazie alla sua abilità tutte le mie carte con attacco magico ottengono un punto attacco in più.
Considerazioni finali
Svolgimento della battaglia
ROUND 2
All'inizio del round 2 la differenza tra il totale (punti vita + punti armatura) tra me e il mio avversario diminuisce (passa da +9 a +4).
Tortisian Fighter dimostra di non essere una carta molto utile in prima posizione soprattutto quando l'avversario schiera carte con attacco magico.
A casua della bassa velocità (1) Tortisian Fighter viene eliminato al primo round senza aver cocluso un solo attacco.
ROUND 6
La battaglia rimane in sostanziale equilibrio fino al round 5 e termina al round 6.
La carta che più di tutte è stata importante per vincere la battalgia è : Crustacean King.
Senza l'abilità curativa e senza l'abilità protettiva di Crustacena King avrei potuto perdere la battaglia contro @cailean.
Considerazioni su Tortisian Fighter
Tortisian Fighter è una carta che non ho mai utilizzato prima della partecipazione al contest "Share Your Battle" di questa settimana.
Il motivo?
Ha tre grandi difetti:
- attacca solo dalla prima posizione
- ha una velocità bassa (grande difetto per una carta da schierare in prima posizione)
- ha pochi punti vita (altro grande difetto per una carta da schierare in prima posizione)
La bassa velocità insieme ai pochi punti vita la rendono una carta davvero fragile da schierare in prima posizione e purtroppo la prima posizione è l'unica posizione dalla quale Tortisian Fighter attacca.
Ho carte migliori da schierare in prima posizione come:
E' una carta che però può essere utile in particolare nelle leghe iniziali di Splinterlands e quindi per i nuovi giocatori che hanno un minore numero di carte da cui poter scegliere.
