Will Pieve di Soligo be the capital of culture 2022?

There is great expectation among the ten finalist cities for January 18, when the name of the capital city of culture for 2022 will be announced by the commission of the MIBAC (Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism).
Among the ten finalist cities there is also Pieve di Soligo (and the territories of the high brand).
Pieve di Soligo is a town of about 12,000 inhabitants located in the Treviso Pre-Alps. It was the scene of strong battles during the First World War, and the cathedral itself, under construction, was occupied by the Austrians. Many wartime buildings still survive today! Over the centuries it has given birth, among others, to Andrea Zanzotto, one of the most illustrious poets of the second half of the twentieth century.
The municipality of Pieve di Soligo, together with the entire territory of the Alta Marca Trevigiana, has decided to apply for the Italian Capital of Culture, a great opportunity to give life to a real long-term strategic program, which sees culture as a great economic and social engine and which is based on the awareness of the multiple potentialities of the territory, also following the recognition of the area as a Unesco Site.
The possibility of becoming the capital of culture for 2022, in addition to being a source of great pride, is a great opportunity both to make the most of the beauties of the territory and to give breath to the entire tourism industry, severely affected by pandemic in progress.
