Superb Excursion to the "I Mughi" Nature Reserve in Trentino Alto Adige - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Hello everyone! Even today I take you to discover Trentino Alto Adige! Trentino has so much to offer that I already have in mind at least twenty other exploratory excursions!

Ciao a tutti! Anche oggi vi porto alla scoperta del Trentino Alto Adige! Il Trentino ha così tanto da offrire che ho già in mente almeno una ventina di altre escursioni esplorative!

This time my parents were to keep me company and luckily, driving aimlessly and letting us advise only by instinct, we reached a beautiful area at about 1300 meters above sea level in the municipality of Pieve Tesino.

Questa volta a farmi compagnia c'erano i miei genitori e per fortuna, guidando senza meta e facendoci consigliare solo dall'istinto abbiamo raggiunto una bellissima zona a circa 1300 metri di altitudine nel comune di Pieve Tesino.

With great surprise we came across a protected nature reserve called "I Mughi"!

Con grande stupore siamo capitati nei pressi di una riserva naturale protetta chiamata "I Mughi"!

The reserve extends over about 21 hectares, nestled between spruce, silver fir and beech woods. There are also specimens of mountain pine, unusual at this low altitude, which give the biotope its name.

La riserva si estende su circa 21 ettari, inserito tra boschi di abete rosso, abete bianco e faggio. Sono presenti anche esemplari di pino mugo, insoliti a questa bassa quota, che danno appunto il nome al biotopo.

As soon as we entered the wood we were delighted by that place, an ancient wood that smelled of moss, mushrooms and bark.

Appena entrati nel bosco eravamo estasiati da quel posto, un bosco antico che profumava di muschio, funghi e corteccia.

To make the forest even more special, there were stones and large boulders that emerged from the ground and partially covered with moss adorned that natural place.

A rendere il bosco ancora più speciale, c'erano pietre e grandi massi che affioravano dal terreno e parzialmente coperti di muschio adornavano quel luogo naturale.

The light that filtered was not much, but it created a really suggestive atmosphere.

La luce che filtrava non era molta, ma creava un'atmosfera davvero suggestiva.

Along the path there were didactic tables for visitors.

This gives information on the discipline that studies the age of a tree by observing the number and distance of the rings of a sectioned trunk.

Lungo il sentiero c'erano delle tabelle didattiche per i visitatori.

Questa da informazioni sulla disciplina che studia l'età di un albero osservando il numero e la distanza degli anelli di un tronco sezionato.

Continuing on, the sun began to light up the path more and the leaves of the trees became more and more vivid green

In this nice installation the various arboreal and shrubby essences that make up the reserve were explained.

In questa piaccola installazione erano spiegate le varie essenze arboree e arbustivhe che compongono la riserva.

The trail was all level, suitable even for elderly people, really easy and relaxing.

Il sentiero era tutto in piano, adatto anche a persone anziane, davvero facile e rilassante.

One of the most beautiful aspects is that we have not found anyone, we were surrounded only by nature, its scents and sounds.

Uno degli aspetti più belli è che non abbiamo trovato nessuno, eravamo circondati solo dalla natura, dai suoi profumi e suoni.

Sometimes touching a simple cushion of clovers makes me feel more in tune with the environment.

A volte toccare un semplice cuscino di trifogli, mi fa percepire maggiormente in sintonia con l'ambiente.

There is also a bog in the river, and a small stream was taking us right there...

Nella rivers c'è anche una torbiera, e un piccolo ruscello ci stava portando proprio lì...

Where the water was higher and more current, my mother quenched her thirst by taking some water from the shallowest part of the stream...

Dove l'acqua era più alta e corrente mia mamma si è dissetata prendendo un po' d'acqua dalla parte più superficiale del ruscello...

We had arrived at the bog.
A wetland of glacial formation.

Erravamo arrivati alla torbiera.
Una zona umida di formazione glaciale.

To our right and left was the whole wetland.

In a few meters a truly incredible variety of floral species.

Alla nostra destra e sinistra c'era tutta l'area umida.

In pochi metri una varietà di specie floreali davvero incredibile.

This stretch of the snetiero was truly magical, it seemed to be in a fairy tale.

Questo tratto del snetiero era davvero magico, sembrava di essere in una fiaba.

The ground was all covered with pine needles that made it soft, it looked like carpet.

Il terreno era tutto coperto di aghi di pino che lo rendevano soffice, sembrava una moquette.

And then we came out of the woods and arrived at the last stretch. A vast wet meadow crowned by mountains.

Ed ecco poi che siamo usciti dal bosco e siamo arrivati all'ultimo tratto. Un esteso prato umido coronato dalle montagne.

I must say it was a nice hike, faciel but very interesting.

I recommend it to everyone, if you are near Castello Tesino and Pieve Tesino, take a tour, it's worth it!
