Exploring the Wood of Sant'Andrea - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

The weather in these days is very variable but last Sunday I managed to make a short excursion in the woods of Sant'Andrea.

Il meteo in questi giorni è molto variabile ma la scorsa domenica sono riuscito a fare una breve escursione nel bosco di Sant'Andrea.

The woodland is located on the slopes of Monte Grappa and develops at an altitude of only 350 meters above sea level, in fact it is mainly interested in broad-leaved trees.

Il boscosi trova alle pendici del Monte Grappa e si sviluppa ad una altitudine di soli 350 metri sul livello del mare, infatti è interessato prevalentemente di latifoglie.

In these days it has almost always rained and walking in that wood was tiring because of the humidity in the air, which made me sweat even if I walked on the flat.

In questi giorni ha quasi sempre piovuto e camminare in quel bosco era faticoso per l'umidità nell'aria, che mi faceva sudare anche se camminavo in piano.

The path is as wide as a person and the vegetation on the sides often hinders the path.

Il percorso è largo quanto una persona e la vegetazione ai lati spesso intralcia il sentiero.

Only at this point did the path emerge on an asphalted road and then continue in the vegetation.

Solo in questo punto il sentiero sbucava su una strada asfaltata per poi proseguire nella vegetazione.

The route was clearly visible but was not very frequent, certainly due to the lockdown.
I haven't met people.

La percorso era ben visibile ma era poco frequentato, sicuramente a causa del lockdown.
Non ho incontrato persone.

Photographing that environment with omnipresent vegetation and the little harsh light that passed between the branches of the trees made it difficult to capture quality photos.

Fotografare quell'ambiente con vegetazione onnipresente e la poca luce dura che passava tra i rami degli alberi ha reso difficile catturare foto di qualità.

At some point I had to continue along the bed of a stream without water.

Ad un certo punto ho dovuto pruseguire lungo il letto di un torrente senz'acqua.

Then next to the torrent I found a small path and decided to follow it.

I didn't know, but I think a tick was attached to my leg at that very point!

Poi a fianco al torrent ho trovato un piccolo sentiero e ho deciso di percorrerlo.

Non lo sapevo, ma credo che proprio in quel punto mi si sia attaccata alla gamba una zecca!

I realized that I had a tick on my thigh while I was driving the car to go home because I felt stung.

So I stopped the car and put some disinfectant cream over the mint.

After two minutes, having no more air, he suffocated and let go of my leg, so I removed it without problems.

The best thing would be to use the oil to make it suffocate, because the alcohol of the disinfectant could make it regurgitate and therefore cause a serious infection!

Mi sono accorto di avere la zecca sulla coscia mentre guidavo l'auto per tornare a casa pewrchè ho sentito pungere.

Così ho fermato l'auto e ho messo un po' di crema disinfettante sopra la zecca.

Dopo due minuti non avevendo più aria, ha soffocato e ha mollato la presa sulla mia gamba, così l'ho tolta senza problemi.

La cosa migliore sarebbe utilizzare l'olio per farla soffocare, perchè l'alcol del disinfettante potrebbe farla rigurgitare e quindi provocare una grave infezione!

At one point I knew I was close to the asphalt road because I felt a cyclist pedaling and panting from fatigue...

Ad un certo punto sapevo di essere vicino alla strada asfaltata perchè sentivo un ciclista pedalare e ansimare per la fatica...

While walking along this beautiful avenue, a young fox crossed the road but I was unable to photograph it, it was too fast! Too bad, a nice picture would come with that perspective!

Once I got home I was still worried about the tick that I had found on my leg so I checked carefully if I had others but luckily there were none.

For safety I took a long bath ...

...even if I am comfortable with short pants, I will do the next excursions with long pants, you never know!

Mentre percorrenvo questo bellissimo viale, una giovane volpe ha attraversato la strada ma non sono riuscito a fotografarla, è stata troppo veloce! Peccato, sarebbe venuta una bella foto con quella prospettiva!

Una volta arrivato a casa ero ancora preoccupato per via della zecca che avevo trovato sulla mai gamba così ho controllato bene se ne avevo altre ma per fortuna non ce n'erano.

Per sicurezza ho fatto un lungo bagno...

...anche se con i pantaloni corti sono comodo, le prossime escursioni le farò con i pantaloni lunghi, non si sa mai!
