My First Night Away from Home

I receive a call from one of my friend this afternoon. Its has been a while since we talked, so we gist and out conversation led to the time I slept over at her house. Then, I realized it was her house I spent my first night away of from home. Have never slept overnight in someone's else house before until that day. In the year 2019, I was selected in our ward party meeting as an agent to the represent our party in a particular polling unit for 2019 election.

My expectation was to go that very day(election day)but a day before the election, I receive our ward party chairman call that I might not be able to make it,if I was to come the next day because my house is a bit far from my posted polling unit. so,he told me to come and that day but by the time he told me, it is already in the evening. In my thinking ' how do I do it,where will I stay,will I get a hotel' then, I suddenly thought about my friend. She lives within the area of the polling unit. I decide to call her and asked if she was at home?and she said she is, I told her am coming over she was like asking me why but I didn't give her the opportunity and I cut the call. I become relieved with her respond and quickly pack my things and move out.

On getting there it was already late and they have closed the door, I had to call her to come and open the do do for me. They had their dinner already and didn't leave any for me because they didn't believe I will still come. We had to go out to look of what I can eat and she walked me down to a mallam who sells noodles and tea. We order but the way the mallam prepared it was in a different method, a method have never experience, I couldn't eat it and gave it to my friend ,claiming she is used to it and I only had tea. We went back home and slept but couldn't sleep well, am not comfortable because its strange to me. I was the first person to wake up by 4:00 in the morning. I went to the bathroom to take my bath but was not also comfortable and I couldn't use sponge so, I used soap and water only and all what I am thinking in my head is to end my business there quickly and go back home to find pleasure.

My friend and her family gave me a warm welcome and treated me like a princess. Am happy but within me am not comfortable because I have always been an indoor person since childhood. My parents never allow us to go travelling or spend night in someone else house. They decide when to come in and out of the house.

Well, nothing like family love.
