Exploiting creativity to make this photograph, my entry to today's monomad challenge. / Explotando la creatividad para hacer ésta fotografía, mi entrada al monomad challenge de hoy.

Today I continue with my practices, and I say this because that's what they really are, they are practices to become the photographer I want to be, and although today I didn't have anything planned, ideas can come at any time and we must be ready to start working with them, today while I was in the living room, I was looking at a flower arrangement that got old, but the shape of its flowers caught my attention, and since I'm getting into still life photograhy, I had to make a few captures.

And it all started because I was watching a couple of videos on youtube, do you remember Nickelback? Well, while I was listening to his music the vase and his flowers started to captivate me, I thought about this picture, my hands holding the cell phone while I was taking a picture of the flowers, to take this shot I had to control the camera through the cell phone and with the connection through wifi, I also had to use the flash for several reasons, like softening the light more, but mostly, because I didn't want to have any movement on my hands, and with my continuous light (home made) I need to give more exposure time, so the only practical option was to use the flash and the softbox.

I started by checking my composition and the quality of the light, from here I started making some exposure adjustments to improve my scene.

To avoid having to illuminate the background to separate my subject and my hands, I set the flash at 10 o'clock with respect to my camera. I also turned the cell phone a little bit, pointing it at the camera so that it was well exposed, always trying to have it at the height of the white flower that was the place where I was focusing.

In the previous photo I didn't like the position of my fingers, so I repeated the shot and this was the result, the truth is that I liked this photo very much in color, with one of my presets that I created during the time I've been a photographer, although I still don't like the shape of my fingers, but in landscape mode, there is no other way to hold the cell phone and make the fingers look aesthetically fine.

I decided to change the position of the cell phone in a portrait way, as if it was a common photo for any social network, which brought another problem, by moving the position of my hands and by the size of the cell phone, the flower covered the light that should be on my hands, and that's why I had to make the last photo, which was the one you saw at the beginning of the post, was the final one and that concludes today's idea.
