Spirits in a Material World - my entry today to the #monomad daily contest by @monochromes
Here are few long exposure black and white photographs, I was trying to capture the spirit of the life of a small town in Tuscany, Italy.
Exposure times are between 8 and 30 seconds, I was observing the street movement and modifying the exposures to try to reflect it. I can't tell if all were successful, I like them though so that must mean something. :)
You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by @monochromes, supported by @qurator, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!

Ahhhh, another beautiful city of Italy i was in Tuscany, Italy a little while back great wine comes from there 👍
True, true, great wines, great people :)
Agree on both of them 👍
I love it, I would like to learn how to do that effect, any tutorial?
Thanks, buddy! I could put up a proper tutorial, I'm sure there are plenty out there already though.
Here is a quick tutorial just for you :)
This technique needs a tripod or somewhere to put your camera, of course the tripod is much better as it gives the freedom to have a proper composition. Late evenings and nights work better, city streets always have some artificial lighting. The camera may be either in Shutter Priority (Tv) or Manual mode so the shutter speed could be controlled. Usually it takes some time to experiment with the speed as people move differently. So between 4 and 30 seconds should do. Use the Camera Self Timer to avoid shaking. Just have fun and it will work out :) I'm here if you have any questions ;)

Oh, what a lovely surprise, thanks a lot for selecting this photo, I love it :)
I just uploaded a new entry in Black and White. Cheers :)
Oooph, wow.
These are stunning.
I have to get a tripod soon, cos I cant shoot long exposure with my shaky hands :).
Top stuff sire
Sometimes a solid table or putting the camera on large objects also work but no proper control on the composition :) Sometimes I use my backpack that I just put on the ground. Thank you :)
Back pack, yes.
That sounds good.
