Song of the Snowflakes

After I have taken the Winter Wonderland photos last Saturday, I have got up early on Sunday and took a few photos of the sunrise near the place I have been the day before. But these photos have to wait another few days till I find the time to edit them.

After the sunrise photos in the snow, I drove to mountain pass, which is called Flattnitz Pass, where I could take a couple of photos of trees from the roadside.

The road I was driving on was winding beautiful between the snowy trees, but there were also snowy roads, which are only accessible in during the Summertime, but you can walk in the snow to your cabin or whatever there is to find.

The weather was amazing and the snow was covering the ground and the trees perfectly.

Not all photos look good in black and white. I have tried to convert these into monochrome, but didn't like it at all.

Last but not least in the end I want to show you a bit more color. This is one of the photos I took in the morning before I drove to the Flattnitz Pass.

Another week has gone by and the end of 2020 is already in sight. I don't know how you feel, but I am very glad that this year is finaly over and hope the next one will be better ... it can only get better anyway ;)

Information

All photos were taken with the Canon EOS R and one of these lenses: Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM, Canon EF 16-35mm 1:4 L IS USM, Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 L STM, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM, SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C.

I like that tiltle "Black Road" Hannes,

It gives a perfect tune to the post if there ever could be such a thing.
Somebody should make a video song called "Black Road" and use these pictures in the video.
The poem can be used for the lyrics.

No, we are too low above sea level and it's too warm at the moment for the snow to stay longer.
But my parents have more than they need - I will see it today in the afternoon I hope 😁

There's a lot snow in the mountains and higher regions. This afternoon we will visit my parents who said they have got about 3 feet of that white stuff last week 😁

Yeah, but we will celebrate at home where I live ... probably snowless 🙃

On December 26 starts our third hard lockdown, so we might not be able to get there again before some time in January.

Yesterday it has been too dark to take photos, but because it is too warm at the moment the snow has become less. I think about 2 feet are left.

These lockdowns are getting a real pain but we have no choice it must be controlled we have have about a dozen new cases also hope it doesn't get any worst otherwise we will be in lockdown for Christmas 😣

The photos in B & W turned out beautifully Hannes . I love them all and my favorite is the second one with the winding road and snow covered trees standing guard.

Your pictures very well show the intense beauty of snow over the trees @johannpiber.

These pictures are so much fascinating😍, specifically the road between the snowy trees, that's pretty cool.

I just wish to be there on the road riding a bike between the trees with complete peace and beauty😅.

For riding a bike it would be a bit too cold I believe, and the road is wet and partly icy. In Summer it's great to ride a bike in this road though 😁

Yeah😂! I can freeze🥶 on the road...
Well it's enough cold here also, 9°C-10°C temperature, just need to snowfall, which didn't happen here😅 to see such beautiful scenes.

Yeah its warm for the snow. Here snowfall never happens, as its a warm climate region for most of the year. That's why for the people who are habitual of warm climate with 47-48°C, its little difficult to survive in 8-9°C😅.

Wow, I don't think I have ever experienced such high temperatures over 40 C, but I think I'd prefer them to be between 20 and 30 ... anything over 0 C would be fine though, and for colder temperatures we should have the right clothing 😉

Here I sit on a murky hot day, wishing those small snowflakes were closer,
Oh to dream is such a wonderful thing, especially through the lens of well presented nature.

Painted tones of white, grey and black, each displayed in perfect form,
Through supreme Poetic description, expressing the feel of each little crystal making it's presence felt.

Rider of the black road or walking the white road, hot, sunny South Africa here is wishing you a wonderful path during the week.
