With one tiny flower on a tiny cactus.
One of the smallest and youngest ones that I had in bloom this year. It is basically still a seedling that I grew from seed. Even though it is 2 years old, it is still very small.
This type of Mammillaria is quite common and popular. It grows fast and propagates easily through cuttings and seeds in my case. By next season it will probably double up in size (unless I kill it).
The flowers are peachy yellow. They are not the most decorative, especially when on its own. But the spines are cute. The big ones are much darker than normally, almost brown, while the little hairy ones stay white. They look especially nice in black and white.
And of course a black and white song for today.

The only cactus I have will flower in a week. I'm waiting for one more timelapse with it 🙂
Mine are taking a break now.. The season is almost over. Soon they will go dormant for the winter.
