Please Don't Judas Me

Don't ever feel like nobody listens to you! The NSA is always listening! For that matter your friendly neighborhood intel agency is too 😎 The title comes from the Nazareth song below, I somehow had never heard it before I stumbled upon it this morning.

The line in the song 'Please don't blacklist me' got me to thinking about all the surveillance directed at protests and protesters, not only last year but all through history. COINTELPRO is one of the more famous examples of this but it damn sure didn't end with that.

More cameras than you could shake a stick at, drones hovering and helicopters circling, that's protesting in 2020! You could tell how worried the authorities were by how many things you could see watching you (knowing full well that there was plenty you weren't seeing). When the cops finally realized that protesters were livestreaming everything that they did they had to jump in the game too, these first couple photos of one of their attempts at that, from the first day that the NFAC militia came to town. Their emphasis on putting the camera in peoples' faces was a bit at odds with how the livestreamers usually did things...

The alphabet boys were rather busy around here last year, lots of ATF and FBI coming around asking questions. Lately they've been a bit distracted with the excitement that happened at the Capitol back in January but I suspect that won't last forever.

The cops definitely knew who many of us were, they'd often call people by name. I'm kinda curious how many different lists our names are on now...

With all the mass surveillance and 'intelligence' agencies out there, I'm sure this is not a unique experience. Who else is pretty sure their name is on a list somewhere?

I know Uncle Sam likes to watch but this voyeur thing is getting a bit out of hand. Explains why him and Jerry Falwell Jr get along so well though.

That's enough out of me, y'all don't do anything the feds wouldn't do!

good that this is the digital era otherwise they would have wasted a lot of analog celluloid.
great documentary storytelling as usual

Yeah but that would have made the whole surveillance thing much more of a hassle.

Thank you!

my pleasure
i'm just kidding.
here was and happening now the same. high-quality special cameras installed close to the important for protesters places. very high ability for faces recognition by the only eyes, due to the restriction and as result covered by mostly bandanas faces.
