LEGO Freestyle

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I am back with another fun and overdue LEGO post to share with everyone! I have been busy spending time with my wife and son at the lake house, cleaning that up a lot that we really haven't been inside much which is great. One of the days we were there we came home a bit earlier so that we wouldn't get exhausted and could do some playing in the house for a change, where it was air conditioned.

StarWars Freestyle

So I had a hankering to get down to playing some fun old LEGO with our son. It had been a while since I have done it with him. He enjoys it but not as much as he enjoys riding his bike so he's been focused on that now lol

So I was looking at the two white front pieces that are normally horizontal wings and got the idea of making a Star Wars type LEGO of my own with them both pointing forward. I proceeded to build one!

While searching for the pieces I wanted, the little one took my pieces that I had already taken out and built this masterpiece. He was very proud of it! It may take the show instead of what I scrounged together.

I was going for something that was similar to the X wing but didn't have the X wings. It was long and narrow but only had regular wings on the sides and a pretty cool center console to control shit! It had the cool exhaust fan slits on the wings because when you're a badass space fighting plane, you need to let go of some steam!

I was a little dismayed when I wasn't able to find some of the pieces I really wanted on there but that's ok, I think it still came out pretty cool. I had the sweet jet engines in the back as well as the stabilizing fins on each wing to allow for a very fast up and down direction change, to the chagrin of the pilots stomach and consciousness of course.

This was the final product. Had the cool blasters on the front, a long narrow sleek body and it had the tracks to land on the ground. I was hoping to get pieces to fold the tracks outwards on the wings so they mainly go away but our collection is a bit of a disaster at the moment so I didn't have a opportunity to get that going. Next time!

I liked the little launch pads underneath either wing to give it a very fast vertical blast to get away from the baddies.

Thanks for stopping by and checking my post out! I think it was a lot of fun to build the LEGO spaceship, I had a lot of time where I wasn't building some LEGO so I had to get out my need for something fun!

Hahah isn’t it? I would like to think that the storm troopers dress like that underneath their battle armor!

I liked the spaceship a lot. 🚀

I used to play with legos when I was a child, But I don't have legos anymore because I gave them, and some others toys to an orfanage since I didn't play with them anymore and those children needed them more than me. I felt so glad that I was able to give them some hapiness.😍

My mom has a anecdote of me with legos, she told me I made a big tower and it get destroyed and I said it get "desotreded" hahaha it still makes me laugh a lot 🤣 In spanish it's funnier. "mamá, se desostró"😅

Thanks for stopping by and checking my post out! I appreciate the great comment!

That sounds like a really funny story and don’t worry, I know things that are really funny in one language don’t translate well into another! There are lots of those things in Italian, so I know what you mean!

I think it’s great that you donated your LEGO to the orphanage. That helps improve the play time of the little kids who sometimes need all the help we can give them so I think they were very glad to get them!

Thank you!
I don't know much about tokens.
Is there a post that explains or talk about them?

Yes I will find out some information for you tomorrow! It’s basically another way to get paid and earn other tokens in addition to hive that you earn on posts. More on that tomorrow!

Alright so the way you can think of these other tokens is like this:

We have the Hive blockchain that we all are using. We post things and we can post things in communities and that works well. Some communities though, have created an additional layer ontop of all of this, with their own individual tokens to reward people for posting in them.

If you visit https://hive-engine.com/?p=balances&a=cmplxty (for you it would be https://hive-engine.com/?p=balances&a=manujune ) you can see what your Hive Engine token balances are. You just need to use your posting key to log into the website. Here you can view your tokens.

I have all of these different tokens. We call this different reward system "Layer 2" since this is content linked to Hive but it is also in a way independent of Hive as a token to sell. The easiest group to look at is the LEO token. They have a really strong token here on Hive Engine and that token is linked to the LEO Finance community here on Hive. If you post a post on Hive and post it inside the LEO finance community, you (as long as you get at least a .02$ vote on the post) will earn LEO tokens in addition to earning Hive tokens.

Lots of other communities have tokens like STEM is for the technology folks on here, DIY for the DIY folks, LOTUS is for natural medicine and so on.

It is this whole other really cool layer to the blockchain! It works by the post tags you include in your post. For example, if I want to make my post show up in the STEM category to earn STEM tokens, I would add the "stem" tag to my post and I am able to earn rewards. You have to have relevant content to that though. If you post a freewrite in the STEM community, hoping to earn STEM tokens they might give you a downvote and you won't earn any STEM tokens. A really good one to start with is PALNet, you can include palnet in your first 5 post tags to earn some rewards there. PAL means Peace, Abundance and Liberty. It is kind of like OCD where any content can be accepted there, not specific ones like STEM. I have my most tokens in the PAL group.

I will stop here before going on further, let me know when you've gotten this far and if you have more questions beyond this!

Oh man. We have so many LEGOS still in our youngest kid's bedroom. He won't part with them as he grows cause he has that artistic touch. 😁

Thanks for stopping by and checking my post out! I don't blame your son! I still have my LEGO's from when I was a kid but they are stuck in my parents attic, in a 55 gallon tote lol. I want to get them someday but I have zero space for that quantity!

It's also an excellent way to express some really cool artistic talent! I'm glad he enjoys using them, thanks for sharing!

Why worry about missing pieces when you can get creative with other parts.

Very true! I did indeed use what I could find. I wanted to use these little prison bar type things for the bottom but I couldn't find it so I improvised and used the window frames but took out the windows. I think I should've tried to improvise more in other ways but that's ok, more food for the next time we build LEGO's, this weekend perhaps!

Thanks for stopping by, checking my post out and leaving a nice comment I appreciate it!

LOL its all fun and games until you're walking to the kitchens at 3am to get some water and the lego storm trooper stabs your foot

Yeah, we thankfully keep the LEGO shit out of the path to the bathroom. My wife stepped on it once and she had a bruise on the bottom of her foot for a few weeks lol now LEGO's are restricted to the far corner!

Thanks for checking my post out! I appreciate it. I love playing with the LEGO's, they are a lot of fun! It is nice that you spend time with your nephew to play some LEGO with him, it is really important for them to get this type of time!

I love the stormtrooper's tux. Very classy.

Awesome free build! I think you did a superb job putting that together.

Thanks for checking my post out! The formal wear of the trooper was a lot of fun lol I was just putting thing’s together without realizing and I didn’t notice until later.

Freestyle builds are some of my favorite! It’s cool to experiment with what you can come up with.
