A little harvest today from our small garden.

Greetings garden lovers,

Early in the morning today my children are very enthusiastic because I told them that we will pick vegetables and I want them to pick them for me. So my eldest Carlo immediately finds some scissors and a plastic bag for the vegetables.

Honestly, I was having my period and in my place, we have some superstitious belief that whenever a woman had her period it is not good to pick or harvest fruit or vegetables for the reason that the tree or plant might die days after.

I don't believe it 100 percent but this time I'm going to harvest some eggplant trees for the first time so I will follow because there's nothing to lose. So this time I instructed the children to do the harvesting so that they will also learn and appreciate the value of growing their own vegetables so that they can eat free and fresh foods.

The first thing I let Carlo pick was okras. This is the reason why I will pick the fruits today because okras grow quickly and when they mature too much, they are not good to eat. So far I have four full-grown okras that I think I harvested four times already but they still produce a lot of fruits.

Little Lucas is impatiently waiting for his big brother to hand the fruit after picking because he is the one who will receive it after picking and putting it in his plastic bag.☺

This was followed by the picking of string beans, just like okra, they also mature quickly.

And the eggplants. This was my first harvest on this side so I had the kids do it. Only a few had fruit and they already landed on the ground so I harvested them as well.

I also went to harvest spinach and I think the last fruit of my bitter gourd. I did it myself because I thought they were old already so I don't have any doubts if they die.

Carlo and Lucas really had great fun doing their task today😍.

Imagine in just four okra trees we harvest this giant and this much!😃

This is just a young eggplant it can still get bigger but I decided to pick it because it already landed on the ground.😁

After we picked, I took some pictures of the ones we harvested. I want to show them to you because I am very proud of my efforts and I want to share them with others so that they can be inspired to plant as well.

We also shared some of the ones we harvested with the family today because they might just wither at home. There are still more to harvest soon and hopefully, with God's mercy everything succeeds and we will be able to give many more to others.🙏🧡💛💚

It is very nice to see the fruits of one's labor. I am in this harvesting period too and I can imagine how you feel.

You know that what you call Okra, here in my country is known as "Quimbombó" haha, it's great the names we give to the same vegetables in different countries.

By the way, the banana plants in the background of the first photos are beautiful, these are great!

Wow, nice to hear that. Do you eat okra too? Those bananas just recovered from the typhoon last year and they look so messy that time but now they are really nice 😍. Thanks for dropping by and appreciating my work. Have a good day!

Dear @luckylaica, sorry to jump in a bit off topic but may I ask you to support the HiveSQL proposal?
It lost its funding recently and your help would be much appreciated to keep the HiveSQL service free for the Hive community.
You can do it on Peakd, Ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.

Thank you for your support!

Hi @luckylaica
I'm very curious, what kind of food will you make from the fresh and tempting vegetables from your garden ❤
