More Projects to Add to the "In Progress" List.jpg

I swear that this list will never be complete! A few little more things that need to be done... and seeing as they are smaller projects, they take precedence over the larger stuff like the complete mulching, the retaining wall, the wicker beds, and so on and so forth.... After all, if we wait for the big things to be finished, then nothing will get done! So, complete the little jobs and chip away at the big ones... and hopefully, we will be done before we die!

First little project... relining the front path with rocks again to hold back the incoming mulch layer. This just involves digging out a little trench and lining it with rocks... I do wonder if we should line it with river pebbles instead? I might check to see if that is good with my wife, I think it would be a nicer border than the hard and jagged rocks?

A few new plants to plant in the front area... although, part of the area that my wife does want to plant two of them in is currently being occupied by the large woodchip pile for mulching... so, that is one of hte bigger projects that is currently on a more critical list of things to do... when I have time. This week, I'm travelling again... so, I did prepare some ground by weeding and getting rid of the grass... when I get back, I will cardboard it and then lay down a layer of woodchips. That will make a little dent in the woodchip pile!

All of these new plants are Grevillias of different sorts... I think that two are more bushy, and two are more ground cover types. The two bushy ones will go where the woodchip pile is, to help make a privacy screen... and the two ground cover ones are going to be around the letterbox and the path to that side to see if the will take and grow out some much needed cover.

I actually really love these flowers... so, looking forward to having three different versions of them... to add to the several different varieties that already exist in our garden!

... and finally. A little bit sad, but I discovered that the old timber swing set that had been standing in the backyard forever was reaching the end of its life. The timber was splitting... and likely a hazard in waiting. So, I took off the swings... and will start dismantling it soon enough. Not a critical project... but it might be nice to reclaim the space and start thinking about what we want to do with that area!
