I finished with PoE Ultimatum league. Honest review/Thoughts about my performance in league
First bad thing is what happened at the start, basically PoE failed with servers, and there were tons of bugs, lags and disconnects, at day 1 I've played for 14 hours, but in reality it was 5 hours. Why? Because I was getting disconnects every 3 minutes, I was logging in, playing for 3 minutes and then getting crashes and waiting in queue again. That was so frustrating.
Second thing is caused by the same thing as first one but its more ridiculous, people were using crashes to copy items, that fucked up league economy so hard. How does even GGG allowed that ....
and now.... the third ridiculous thing, they allowed streamers to bypass queue, because of this thing most of streamers were already high level, farming maps while others were stuck loggin in all the time. right streamers rule the economy league sounds fun? no it was not, especially when exalted orb was worth 60 chaos at day 1, and it allways was worth 30 chaos.
okay there was some more bugs but not so important so I won't talk about them, lets talk about builds because thats next bad thing, basically they decided to nerf everything, almost every build was bad, I think they wanted to give us more choices what to play but instead they made the pool even smaller, people played 2-3 builds that haven't got nerfed or got nerfed slightly. I don't even wanna talk about new mechanic, players discovered it somewhere in mid league stage and basically u can use Vaal Skills without any cooldown by using some new items, thats absurd, those builds were so op and they shouldn't exist in PoE. Next league we gonna have next nerfs. Is this Path of Exile or Path of Nerfs lmao, I'd rather they leave everything op, so there would be more choices, but they rather to make the small pool of op choices.
new Ultimatum boss suck, its nearly impossible to spawn him, I played for 16 days and have seen him twice, there was no way to enter this fight manualy, it was pure luck, I think it sucks
- except the Ultimatum boss I really liked the mechanic itself, it was good and rewarding, not too complicated, taking the risk to get better rewards was also a fun part
- GGG invested a lot of money to promote their game, so many new streameres joined to promote the game, I think thats a good thing because more people started playing path of exile and yea I enjoyed watching Shroud playing PoE.
- there was bunch of currency making strategies and they were not so op so everyone could choose how they want to make currency in the game
- coold skin rewards from Ultimatum Challenges, I liked helmet skin for 12 challenges and portal for 38 challenges, but Pet for 24 challenges was also good looking.
I think thats it, as allways I can find more bad than good things in path of exile, but I hope GGG works towards fixing them and I'm sure next league will be better. Its allways like that, after a bad league there must be a better league.
Lets talk a bit about myself and how the league went for me
, first day ofc was hard, but after they fixed disconnects I managed to end the Acts pretty fast. I got into the maps and started making currency, I started with [Flamewall Kinetic Blast Elementalist] and killed Sirus A8 with it, pretty much that was good character, but as soon as I realized that this build needs a lot of investment to be better I decided to change my build into cheap one, I found it on some stream - Occultist Bladefall Bladeblast [ (I've spent 2 ex on gear) and I've been able to do the same as my previous build (even tho I had over 30+ exalted orbs in gear in my previous build) so I focused on earning currency with my new cheap build (my strategy was rushing into Sirus a9 and killing him) and I made it to ~170 exalted orbs in 12 days, after that I was pretty bored.I wanted to stop playing but there was also one more thing I allways wanted. I wanted to try party play, so when my friend asked for it I agreed.I sold items from my build and we made a new characters Aurabot (support character) and Carry (Ethereal Knives Assassin) we finished acts pretty fast and invested a lot into new strategy that was farming harbringers in Valdo Rest region. We made tons of currency in party in a way more fun way than solo playing, idk if thats my attitude or the game is boring, but once again after 4 days of playing in party I was bored again so I decided to finish the league. I made over 200 exalted orbs this league(Thats my personal record and I hope to beat this amount in next league.) and had some fun while playing solo/ in party, I wasn't looking at my characters level because I was focused on making currency but I got level 94 on both characters and killed every boss possible except Maven and The Feared Invite.
