Lone Madman in the Apocalypse - Surviving the Fallout 4 Wasteland - Part three
In this apocalypse, nobody is safe from the dangers lurking just down the road or in this case, down the train track just outside of Arghrash's hideout. Not when there are multiple Wild Mongrel dogs roaming up the tracks and have spotted the feast coming their way.
"Get off me you filthy mutt!" he yelled as he was bitten and started feeling light-headed and the vision got blurry. All it took then was one more quick bite and he was down for the count.
This time he came prepared as he lured them to run along the track but unable to pass the fence until near the big rock, proceeding to drop a bottlecap mine which managed to take two of the three out and just left the final one..
The double-barrel shotgun was used this time to kill off the last of the wild dogs which means more meat for cooking but also having to drink some of the water on hand, as Arghrash felt dehydrated now.
Nothing much exciting happened for some time, he explored a few buildings with one being just a group of survivors willing to share a few resources, also a stone building with a password protected security door that needed hacking. This would have some things like fusion ammo, molotovs etc which are helpful.
Later on and camping at a crossroads section was Trashcan Carla with her hauling Brahmin to carry all the supplies on hand.
"Well these shotgun shells will come in handy for me, thank you and enjoy the spare things I didn't need. I hope you can use or sell them to someone who does need it" Arghrash said to Carla before parting ways.
Exploring throughout the post apocalyptic wasteland has its challenges and its rewards, well there is no real reward since everything went to shit and everyone lives poorly, killing and raiding.
Places like the Starlight Drive-in theater is now a bunch of wrecked cars and will never show a movie again, which is exactly the place our Lone madman is at to loot and fight some Mole rats which got the better of him when the newly found machete was used.. But when coming back and using the guns instead, turns out they weren't so harmful as the shots were quick and easy to maintain while ensuring all Mole rats were killed off in this section.
All that was left at the drive-in theater, was getting a sleeping bag laid down in the small shed where the workshop is and sleep a few hours, move in to the diner section from above which had a trip mine triggered as you get close or for people wanting to enter through the door so it's a good thing he didn't go that way.
"Do do de, someday I will be free" a humming Arghrash muttered to himself while running back to his hideout to do some extra work.
There were enough resources to build a water purifier and power generator to run it which would help keep some water more easily accessible to himself, or if he moved to a new location and turned this into a small hideout for some people wanting to live a life away from the masses. One more thing built was the Tesla Arc by the gate as a defensive measure and lines people up for the turret to blast away.
Progress to becoming a true lone madman although slow was definitely working out in such harsh conditions.
One settlement not too far away and run by robots only was Graygarden, this is where some trading could happen with robot Greene, accepting the Fusion Core and a few more things to give additional caps in our madman's pockets.
"Alright then I think I need to start getting a bit more serious again with the places and fights I get into. So I need to go back to Lexington and find some Feral Ghoul's again to kill and loot the place" Arghrash claimed after exploring a few areas just next to the road leading to Lexington.
So this is exactly what he went and did, he found a building with some spread out Feral Ghouls and pulled out the double barrel shotgun, proceeding to kill off the first one, following up with the pistol to kill off two more hiding in this building and not getting too hurt this time.
To finish off this day before resting and feeling accomplished with taking out these Feral Ghouls with more ease, a couple more were in a nearby building just a short walk away which were disposed off all fine, allowing finding shotgun shells, 5mm rounds and other resources along with a sleeping bag to chill in while enjoying the second floor view of a part destroyed town.
"Actually I better head back to base and get a proper 8 hours sleep to feel rested and be up to tomorrow's adventure" he said before heading out of Lexington and up the road. He caught a glimpse of something just next to the road.. an ammo crate sitting there with a jackpot prize of 20 shotgun shells! But wait, then there was another with 36 rounds of 10mm for the pistol!
"Hooray for some dumb luck and being tired as all hell without a proper sleep. These will help out a lot. Well back to base and to wake up feeling refreshed!"
