Super Mario Odyssey did this to a certain degree. Not in the way that we rescued Marios from different eras but in that it took us through Super Marios history. There's so many references and even mini games anchored in the old games. Like the murals you can jump into to play in 2D. They even included World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros in New Donk City.
It would be awesome to take it one step further like you mention though. A game that's just an amalgamation of everything Super Mario has ever been. All in one giant game.

Exactly, that's the idea, a compilation and at the same time a challenging journey through everything that has been Mario, turning the title into something extremely complete. Super Mario lovers would be happy with a single game that combines and makes us remember how amazing this story has been throughout its more than 30 years, where all the characters are playable as we rescue them, and make the combination of skills, transformations never seen before of the most iconic character of video games, I think Mario deserves this and more, hopefully someday we will have a very creative all in one, combining retro with 4k. So I think I played with your nostalgia and mine, my favorite video game of all my life is Mario Kart 64, I appreciate your words, greetings bro.
