The reference to the characters levels made me think of the book "survival quest". I don't really read fiction yet I downloaded it on audible and found myself reading all the books in the series.
Looks like an interesting game. I will admit that the last two times I bought an Xbox. I've ended up selling it a year later. Though I like gaming, I just haven't gotten back into it.
