Wow. Now those were the days.

When EverQuest came out, it was mind-blowing. The sheer scope of it. I remember stumbling out of the city for the first time and just looking out at...the world! So much amazing goodness to be explored for the first time. Of course, there was also the bad, primarily corpse runs.

I still remember the trauma from losing all my worldly possessions in some deep, dark dungeon that nobody was high enough level to successfully venture into (I think I had fallen down a well and ended up at the bottom level, haha).

Jakair, the Half-Elf Warrior had many adventures throughout the years.

And then came EverQuest 2!!!

Kooli, the Ratonga Assassin, was born. And later Goober Fuzzbottom, the Halfling Berzerker! My wife and I spent many years screaming into our headsets during raids. Our guildies became treasured friends in real life. And when our youngest son was born, my sneaky wife went behind my back and gave my son the middle name of "Kooli" on his birth certificate, haha.

Yeah, EverQuest definitely left its mark!

I never did get into EQ2. I tried it a couple of times was just never for me.

I use to get so lost in some of the zones I would never find my corpse. Would spend hours with no luck getting killed trying find what hill I died on lol.

A lot of fun times back then.

Seems like it be quite hard now a days with the lack of people. I remember when I stopped playing groups had already been an issue with not enough people around. PoK was virtually empty this morning and afternoon.

Seems many just make solo type classes and enjoy the game that way. It is tempting to make a necromancer and give it a go. I never played one expect at lower levels.
