Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered - Has Come Back to Life?

By the end of 2010, the video game developer Criterion delighted us with the impressive Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, which for its time was really a crazy game, since the graphics, game quality, music, and game modes were incredible, not to mention the wide range of cars that we could go unlocking and getting as we advanced in the game, for that year Criterion by the hand of Electronic Arts, as well as other companies, and put us in context of the leap in quality that would have many video games.

Remake and Remastered, two very different things

As a result of observing much confusion on the part of users who do not understand that Remake and Remastered are two totally different terms for video games, I want to take the task of clarifying both concepts before starting with the important topic you have come here for.

When we talk about a game Remake, we will quickly know that it refers to a readjustment of some video game that has been left in the past, ie, will be affected positively the technical aspects, graphics, game controls, game mechanics, game modes, design, among other things, always retaining the essence of the original game, an example of this could be the Final Fantasy VII of 1997 with Final Fantasy Remake of 2020.

On the other hand we have the Remastered, which refers to only small improvements to a video game, mainly retouching visual aspects, such as lighting, contrast and some other adjustments that provide a subtle improvement to a game, are also retouched important aspects such as FPS, making slight adjustments that provide greater fluidity and gameplay experience, an example for a Remastered game could be the Assassin's Creed 3 of 2012 and Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered of 2019.

Was a remastering of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit necessary?

To tell the truth, with how incredible has been the Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit that we all know of 2010, was, or rather, is very difficult to think that a game so well done can be achieved significant improvements, yet Criterion, from the hand of Electronic Arts ventured once again in a challenge that perhaps much see as a marketing strategy, or many others see it as something positive, retouching a game or rather, our hearts.

When does the game come out and on what platforms will it be available?

Perhaps these are the questions that many are here for, and I will quickly answer them:

• Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered had its premiere just a few days ago, on November 6 of this year 2020 was the official launch of the video game, so it is now available in physical or virtual stores at a cost of $ 40.

• Available platforms: XBOX ONE, PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay

If you are wondering about the addition of new vehicles, I am pleased to announce that they have indeed taken the task of adding new cars, corresponding to the present time, but it will not be an easy task to get them.

The races are still as challenging as ever, the original police mode and runner mode are one of the aspects that of course remain part of this remastering, Hot Pursuit modes, racing, time trial, 1vs1, and Challenge mode will continue to delight our Gamers hearts, so we will have much to do, and an online mode that of course will be part of the remastering.

We will count with the night and day races that will give a better touch to our gameplay, the open world will still be part of this video game, but a quite remarkable aspect that has been improved is the game controls, which once we get used to it will be a piece of cake.

For many, perhaps this game is a nostalgic renovation that will bring back all those beautiful moments we enjoyed in 2010 with the original game. It is always good that the companies in charge of these games have a better contact with their past games and keep us surprised with updates that are up to date with the games of this 2020, although for many of us would be magical a Remake of the fabulous Need For Speed Underground 2 of 2004, with which we are sure and will not lose hope at any time to read a news about that project, still we feel comfortable to receive little by little updates of past relics.

Para finales de 2010, la empresa desarrolladora de videojuegos Criterion nos deleitaba con el impresionante Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, que para su momento era realmente una locura de juego, ya que los aspectos gráficos, la calidad de juego, su música, y los modos de juego eran increíbles, sin mencionar la amplia gama de autos que podíamos ir desbloqueando y consiguiendo a medida que avanzábamos en el juego, para aquél año Criterion de la mano de Electronic Arts, así como otras empresas, ya nos ponían en contexto del salto de calidad que irían teniendo muchos videojuegos.

Remake y Remastered, dos cosas muy diferentes

A raíz de observar mucha confusión por parte de usuarios que no comprenden que Remake y Remastered son dos términos totalmente diferentes para los videojuegos, me quiero tomar la tarea de aclarar ambos conceptos antes de iniciar con el tema de importancia por el que has venido hasta aquí.

Cuando hablamos de un juego Remake, rápidamente sabremos que se refiere a una readaptación de algún videojuego que haya quedado en el pasado, es decir, se verán afectados de forma positiva los aspectos técnicos, gráficos, controles de juego, mecánica de juego, modos de juego, diseño, entre otras cosas, conservando siempre la esencia del juego original, un ejemplo de ello podría ser el de Final Fantasy VII de 1997 con Final Fantasy Remake de 2020.

Por otro lado tenemos los Remastered, que se refiere a solo pequeñas mejoras de un videojuego, principalmente retocando aspectos visuales, como iluminación, contraste y algunos otros ajusten que brinden una mejora sutil a un juego, también son retocados aspectos importantes como los FPS, haciendo ligeros ajustes que ofrezcan una mayor fluidez y experiencia de juego, un ejemplo para un juego Remastered podría ser el de Assassin's Creed 3 de 2012 y Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered de 2019.

¿Era necesaria una remasterización de Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit?

A decir verdad, con lo increíble que ha sido el Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit que todos conocemos del año 2010, era, o mejor dicho, es muy difícil pensar que a un juego tan bien hecho se le pueda conseguir mejoras significativas, aun así Criterion, de la mano de Electronic Arts se aventuraron una vez más en un desafío que quizás mucho vean como una estrategia de Marketing, o muchos otros lo vean como algo positivo, retocando un juego o mejor dicho, nuestros corazones.

¿Cuando sale el videojuego y en que plataformas estará disponible?

Quizás sean las preguntas por las que muchos estén aquí, y rápidamente se las responderé:

• Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered tuvo su estreno hace apenas unos dias, el pasado 6 de noviembre de este año 2020 se hizo el lanzamiento oficial del videoojuego, por lo que ya está disponible en las tiendas físicas o virtuales a un costo de 40 Dolares.

• Plataformas disponibles: XBOX ONE, PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch.

Jugabilidad

Si te preguntas por la incorporación de nuevos vehículos, me complace anunciarte que efectivamente se han tomado la tarea de añadir nuevos coches, correspondiendo con la actualidad, pero no será una tarea nada fácil conseguirlos.

Las carreras siguen siendo igual de desafiantes que siempre, el original modo policial y el modo corredor son uno de los aspectos que por supuesto siguen siendo parte en esta remasterización, los modos Hot Pursuit, carreras, contrarreloj, 1vs1, y el modo Reto seguirán deleitando nuestro corazones Gamers, por lo que tendremos mucho por hacer, y un modo online que por supuesto será parte de la remasterización.

Contaremos con las carreras nocturnas y diurnas que le darán un mejor tacto a nuestra jugabilidad, el mundo abierto seguirá formando parte de este videojuego, pero un aspecto bastante notable que ha sido mejorado es los controles de juego, a los cuales una vez nos acostumbramos ya será pan comido.

Para muchos quizás este juego sea una renovación nostálgica que nos devolverá todos esos bellos momentos que disfrutamos en 2010 con el juego original. Siempre es bueno que las empresas encargadas de estos videojuegos tengan un mejor contacto con sus videojuegos pasados y nos mantengan sorprendidos con actualizaciones que estén a la altura de los juegos de este 2020, aunque para muchos de nosotros sería mágico un Remake del fabuloso Need For Speed Underground 2 del 2004, con el que estamos seguros y no perderemos la esperanza en cualquier momento de leer una noticia sobre dicho proyecto, aún así nos sentimos a gusto de recibir poco a poco actualizaciones de reliquias pasadas.
