One of the Best Robotic Action Video Games of Yesteryear / Medabots Game Boy Advance / (ENG/ESP)

avatar

Welcome friends addicted in the wonderful world of video games.

Today I will tell you about a good robotic action video game that I have played from the Game Boy Advance console.

The game is called MedaBots Rokusho Version, it is about the story of a main character named Ikki where he gets a strange medal from a guy named Ghost Renegade (in the game), although according to the anime/animated story it is noted that he gets that strange medal in a lake.

Indeed the game carries with it an anime/anime series, it's kind of comical and funny, this anime I watched a lot when I was little.

Source

Previously when I was little I had played the MetaBee version, which I finished 100% many years ago, so I decided to start playing it again in its RokuSho version.

The game is still the same as in the MetaBee version, but it has new medabots, they are totally different and in my personal opinion, the battles are more complicated.

We will note that the game begins differently from the anime series, the story in the game begins with Ikki entering the laboratory of the medabots, where they make them all kinds of tests and studies before launching them for sale.

The plot of the game focuses on robots that are powered by strange medals, which they need to function, hence their names MEDA-BOTS.

The medals are like the soul of these powerful metallic beings, their battles are fun, since we have to be strategic when fighting against other medabots.

We can use incredible pieces to be able to defeat our opponents.

The game is originally in the English language, but after a while it started to be translated for Spanish speakers.

In the depths of the laboratory is Dr. Aki, a scientist who produces many medabots and is the one who is in charge of all the operations of the laboratory.

As always Mr. Aki will forget our name, so in this part we can change Ikki's name and put the one we like the most.

We can place a total of 10 letters to place a name to our character.

Of course of so many investigations Dr. Aki will not have time to take care of us, so he will send us with his granddaughter Nae to guide us more about the medabots and what are his latest experiments.

Being with Dr. Aki's granddaughter, Nae will tell us about his latest experiments and show us 4 new medabots, where it seems they are very powerful.

These 4 medabots are cataloged as, Tank, support, warrior and healer, these powerful machines can transform any part of your body into a medapieza.

The medapies are the parts of the medabots, these powerful machines are very powerful and dangerous, that's why they are kept secret.

When we finish exploring the whole laboratory we will see how Ikki leaves running towards his house where he will want to see the medabot weekly.

In this weekly we will observe a woman where she will teach us how to assemble a medabot, she will tell us how it works and how powerful they are.

Then Ikki's mother will turn off the TV for us because he has been behaving very rebellious lately.

She will ask us to do her the favor of buying picantoni at the store and that she will give us 50 euros to buy it, she will say she has no change so she hands us the full 50 euro bill.

As we head towards the store we will see two people at the back of the store having a discussion, it seems to be an employee and his boss.

We will see how the boss scolds his employee for buying some extremely expensive medapiezas and forces this one to think of a way to sell them or else he would be fired.

After the boss leaves we will talk to the employee, we will ask him about the picantoni, but he will not pay attention to us and will tell us about some powerful medapiezas which he will try to sell it to us.

As according to the anime story Ikki represents to be a charismatic and a little silly character, he will be tempted to buy those medapiezas for 49.80 euros.

When he buys them he will return home where the worst scolding of his life will be waiting for him.

Arriving home with the package of the medapieces he bought, he will try to go unnoticed by his mother, when she asks him about the picantoni, he will find out that Ikki spent all the money buying his medabot.

His mother punishes him and sends him to his room to think about what he has done.

A very curious fact about this game is how it totally changes the story of the anime.

In the anime Ikki desperately gets his medabot because of a decision he made, since his best friend was in danger.

In the anime MetaBee's medabots were the most obsolete of the series, he didn't want to buy them, but it seems that it didn't turn out as bad as he thought, he bought his medabots thanks to his savings that he got from his allowance, while in the game he got them from his mother's money, instead of buying what his mother sent him, he bought the medabots.

In the game the MetaBee medapiezas was the latest in technology for medabots, they had manufactured a few of them and very few people had them.

When Ikki starts to assemble his medabot he realizes that he is missing the most important piece for a medabot, and that is his medal, without it he will not be able to function properly.

Outside his house we will observe how Ikki's father is on his way home, when a strange guy called "the Renegade Ghost" gives a strange medal to Ikki's father.

The ghost renegade talks about giving his son the medal, to give it to him as a gift.

When Ikki's father arrives home, he goes to Ikki's room and gives him the medal, where Ikki finally possesses his first medabot.

After that scene we can already have control of our character.

If we press the button "B" we will see 4 options, the first one is the medarelog, in that option we can see the level of our medal that in this version Rokusho, the medal is called Kuwagata, we can see the levels of hit, frenzy, defense, healing, shooting, hit, help and block that has our medabot.

As we go using the movement we will increase the level, the higher the level the more effective the medapiezas.

Then we can observe the medapiezas that we will obtain in the course of this story, are characterized by, head, left arm, right arm and legs.

As we leave our house, we will see the secondary character of this story named Erika.

Erika and Ikki are best friends since childhood, when we are out of the house she will challenge us to a "robot battle" where we will learn to battle for the first time.

At the beginning of a battle we will see the opponent and his medabot, then we will choose the medabot we want to use for the battle and then we will be on the board.

Each turn in the battle will depend on how fast your medabot is, they must run in the middle of the wall in the battle for them to be able to fight.

Then we will see our medabots in action as you can see in the gif below.

In battle we can observe how our medabots fight each other, they will run towards their targets and hit them.

We will see the hit points that these cause and their vitality bar, each robot piece has its vitality, such as the head, left arm, right arm and legs.

The damage is random unless you have a medapieza that can cause damage to a specific piece, but the place to inflict damage is still random.

Battles will culminate when the medabots head is destroyed or the battle time runs out.

After defeating Erika, she will tell us that in the school a team called Screws are trying to dominate the school by defeating all the medalists, so we will go to that place.

Once inside we will see our 3 opponents, our goal is to defeat them so we will fight them one by one.

The first one is called Sloan with a tank class medabot.

This enemy is very resistant, its most resistant piece is its legs, having a maximum of 120 vitality points, the first damages will be directed in that place, then when it has between 20 to 30 vitality left, the damages will be directed towards other places of the body.

Despite being a very slow medabot it is very powerful, it has a deadly movement that can destroy any part of our robot with a single blow, both its arms and its head release a powerful laser beam.

After defeating Sloan we will quickly face Spyke with his warrior type medabot.

This medabot is not very resistant, each piece of his body have around 45 / 40 and 50 vitality points.

The bad thing is that it has a powerful shot that sometimes is usually dodged, but when it hits us it can cause a critical impact, not to mention that it has a very good aim.

And finally we have Samantha with her medabot of the female warrior type, she has the appearance of a cat, her body parts have a value of 30 / 25 and 40 vitality points.

She is very weak, but very agile, she can dodge some of our moves, not to mention that she leaves us a stop state evil, which is like a paralysis, but only lasts a second.

To beat them they will not give up so they will try to cheat in a 3 vs 1 combat.

But in a desperate attempt our medabot makes a special move sending the 3 medabots back to the hole they were pulled out of.

Although the story of the game is a little different from the animated series, it is still a good and entertaining game of yesteryear.

The soundtrack is very entertaining, it has a little touch of electronic rock and it's a bit catchy, sometimes I hum the soundtrack of the game hahaha!

Thus concludes today's post friends, I hope you like it, see you next time!
