Cyberpunk 2077 - a screenshot showcase!

avatar

Patch 1.2 was recently released for Cyberpunk 2077 -- a patch where, according to the notes, hundreds of issues were resolved -- and both my partner and myself thought we'd make new characters and have a look at what Night City now offers.

And since I just can't help myself... 😅

It has resulted in a screenshot showcase!!!

I last played when the game was released and happened to do a Screenshot Showcase at that time, also. The game has an amazing photo mode embedded in it and every 5 minutes or so I find myself pausing, taking in the scenery, and taking screenshots.

I wish more games had an inbuilt photo taker/editor! I love it.

There weren't that many bugs that I personally experienced upon launch, just that horrible audio crackle which I later discovered was because of overheating, not because of the game itself. Yes, the game had an audio crackle issue for some people that was actually game related!! But, turns out that wasn't my issue.

To be honest though, despite this patch that fixes hundreds of things, I'm actually experiencing more bugs now than I did at launch.

So far I have equipped an assault rifle that started firing by itself, killing innocent bystanders and making me a wanted criminal. My sniper rifle stopped being able to be fired when using the sight. I slid down a tiny distance and instantly died. I've been stuck in combat.

All issues I didn't have upon release but have now.

At the same time, my partner isn't experiencing any bugs, so maybe I'm just one of those poor, unlucky sods this time around.

Either way, the game is still as beautiful as ever and I'm looking forward to seeing what the future DLC will bring. Apparently the game's first free DLC will be released shortly after Patch 1.2, so, soon I guess!

What I'm personally hoping for is unrestricted access to so many of the locked doors this city has. There are bars and XXX clubs and whatever all over the place, but the doors are locked. Why? I demand entry!

Evidently, she'd be very happy there, haha! 😜

Anywho. Without further ado, here are a few more screenshots I've taken of this beautiful game.

Enjoy! ✨

You know, the game does look very pretty and realistic. But the videos I saw on youtube on it's game engine and how limiting the physics and AI behavior is — it made me a bit sad. How are you finding it since you're with it for long apparently?
Do these things bother you much?

I'm very casual with my approach to games; not much really bothers me.

For instance, my partner was interested in the new Outriders game and played the demo before release. He considered it clunky with poorly done cinematics that were jarring to the eye and thus it was unplayable for him. Me though, watching him play, I couldn't see the same things he was complaining about and I'll probably happily play it. The same thing happens on console. He'll apologise about the mere 30fps and mention how he personally can't stand it, but my eyes don't notice it.

In Cyberpunk, I find the AI normal for a game and the physics seem fine to me too. But, I'm not very technical and I'm happy to just play without going too deep into things, unless it was exceptionally bad. 😅

I kinda understand that. Specially, I'm not too observant about FPS either. If I feel a game playable, I can play it without complaints haha.

Also this whole "realistic" is pretty new, don't you think? Even a few years ago, NPCs were only for decorations and such (except a few AAA titles).

This whole "Games must be hyper realistic" thing might be bad in the end. I loved playing the Darksiders 2 and I loved it so much I played it a couple of times. That massive game! Then I found out the community is pretty hung up on the graphics!
lol!

I love interactive NPCs with a realistic AI -- more importantly, realistic voice actors. Skyrim, for example; I love the game, but the NPCs bother me because there seem to only be five voice actors to play hundreds of people.

But realism is just one thing. I love the look of realistic games and will admire the graphics to no end, but I'll just as happily play an 8-bit pixel game. 😀

There was this game a while back, Pillars of Eternity. I loved it! But as I was reading the reviews on it after playing through, all I saw were people complaining about how much writing was in the game and how much they had to read, and how the graphics were dated. A lot of people complained about the dated graphics. I personally thought it was beautiful! Graphics aren't that important. 🙂

Cheers! ~ Those two are my favourites too. 😀 (You should totally play again, at least soon -- free DLC coming up at some point in the near future, supposedly!)

The biggest feature I'm waiting for is a kit for modders to help them to make Huge mods ! Some are already ok but nothing to see with what we can see with the mods on Bethesda's games !

Yes!! Me too.

I noticed that there have been a few mods slowly coming out, but I'm very muchly looking forward to the range that's available for the likes of Skyrim and whatnot. I'd looove some more character customisation! More cyberware on the face, more eyes to choose from, etc. You never know, maybe that's why there are so many locked doors around too -- allowing modders to one day place their establishments there, haha.

Before starting up this playthrough, I had a brief look on the Nexus to see if anything was underway. I was mainly looking for a texture pack. There are so many fantastic packs out there for other games that look 4k but are only 1-2k and are a smaller size than what's currently in the game they've chosen to add them to. I was really hoping for one for Cyberpunk, but alas, not quite yet.

There was an ini file that improved driving, but that's the only one I've downloaded so far. Can't wait for more!

Improving driving is already a great feature :')

They said that a tool to help moders was planned but they first want to make the game stable and better before helping the modders, I can understand their choice and I hope this will not be too long !

Amazing post! I was considering going back to Cyberpunk with the update but I'm giving it more time. The photo mode was honestly one of my favorite features in the game. I spent so much time in it. You have an eye for photography.

Thank you! 🙂 I've always loved photography and I have my own camera kit that I'm slowly adding too. Unfortunately I need a new body - my current one is a 12-13 year old D5000 and the sensors have become a bit iffy. I'd rather just slowllyyyy save up and buy a new, better body than replace those. One day.

That photo-made in-game is fantastic. More games need one! 😄 Knowing that there is a DLC coming up, I'm thinking of stopping my current playthrough and just waiting for the new content... or perhaps the inevitable patch that will come about a week after the new DLC launches. 😅

hi @kaelci ,
the graphics are very good when I saw the article I thought they were real photos, it came to my mind how cool these games will be when augmented reality glasses arrive and we can play with augmented reality.

I'm promoting That curation trail on HIVE and it would help me a lot if you forward it, You can also check it yourself: you might find it interesting to join, I'd love to hear your comments.

That will be an amazing day when augmented reality becomes an every-day benefit to our lives. 🙂

Thank you for letting me know about your trail -- unfortunately I don't join trails and prefer to vote manually. I hope it goes well for you and those whom you vote!
