En pasadas publicaciones les hablé un poco del NES, Sega y le ha llegado el turno a la que creo ha sido mi consola favorita que he tenido la oportunidad de tener. Recuerdo que esta maquina fue una revolución gigantesca por lo increíblemente buena que era y el nivel de gráficos que tenían casi todos sus juegos.

Primer tesoro. Sin miedo a equivocarme todo aquel que tuvo el Nintendo 64 estoy seguro que tuvo este juego y si no pues lo habrá jugado con un amigo. Uno de los juegos multijugadores más populares de la historia por aquellos enfrentamientos entre cuatro personas con pistolas, granadas, minas, etc, para ver quien quedaba vivo al final fue sin duda de los más importantes del Nintendo 64.

La historia detrás de este juego lógicamente se centra en la película del agente 007 protagonizada por Pierce Brosnan por allá en el 1995, este juego salió en 1997. Recuerdo que eran nueve misiones y entre esas 9 eran veinte "mundos" que había que superar. Armas de todo tipo, desde pistolas, cuchillos, escopetas, rifles, minas, lanzacohetes y hasta tanques eran parte del arsenal del que Bond disponía. Gracias a este juego recuerdo haber aprendido el ingles ya que era necesario para entender las misiones y sus tareas, fue la verdadera revolución este juego.

I remember there were nine missions and among those 9 there were twenty "worlds" that had to be overcome. Weapons of all kinds, from pistols, knives, shotguns, rifles, mines, rocket launchers and even tanks were part of Bond's arsenal. Los gráficos eran los que eran para la época, para aquel momento estaban decentes, con uno que otro fallo pero nada del otro mundo. El modo de juego era bastante cómodo porque entre varias cosas recuerdo que disparabas con el botón Z que era el que se encontraba en la parte de atrás del control lo cual facilitaba mucho las cosas. En fin, un juego épico que quedará como uno de los mejores.

The graphics were what they were for the time, for that moment they were decent, with the occasional flaw but nothing to write about. Yo no les puedo explicar lo alucinante que era este juego, de hecho recuerdo que cerca de mi casa existía esos lugares donde uno iba a alquilar los juegos por varios días y este en particular me lo quede como por 2 semanas de lo bueno que era. Si bien es verdad que hay una precuela, este segundo trajo muchas mejorías lo que lo hizo fascinante.

I can't explain to you how amazing this game was, in fact I remember that near my house there were those places where you would rent the games for several days and this one in particular I kept it for about 2 weeks, how good it was. While it is true that there is a prequel, this second brought many improvements which made it fascinating.

El juego en resumidas cuentas trata de un guerrero que fue llamado para acabar con una grave amenaza alienígena la cual intenta dar con la conquista de varias razas, eso es todo. Quizás no se lea tan llamativo pero para aquellos tiempos créanme que lo fue. Un punto muy a favor de este juego eran sus gráficos, que con relación a la primera entrega mejoraron considerablemente.

The game in short is about a warrior who was called to end a serious alien threat which is trying to conquer various races, that's all. It may not read so flashy but for those times believe me it was. A point very in favor of this game was its graphics, which in relation to the first installment improved considerably.

Otra de las cosas en la que este juego evolucionó en referencia a su sucesor fue en el nuevo arsenal de armas que tenía, estamos hablando de más de 20 armas de todo tipo. Por último también trajo el multijugador que era lo típico de cuatro de jugadores en un todos contra todos y había otra modalidad que era en equipos.

Another of the things in which this game evolved in reference to its successor was in the new arsenal of weapons it had, we are talking about more than 20 weapons of all kinds. Sin ninguna duda un GRAN juego que si pudieran y tuvieran la oportunidad de jugarlo hoy en día se los recomendaría con toda la confianza. Fueron horas y horas pegado al televisor con este titulo, mucha nostalgia escribiendo estas líneas.

Without any doubt a GREAT game that if you could and had the opportunity to play it today I would recommend it to you with all the confidence. They were hours and hours glued to the television with this title, a lot of nostalgia writing these lines.

Parte de la saga de Mario no podía faltar en esta lista y lo hago con uno de los mejores juegos que salieron en el Nintendo 64 en lo que a Mario se refiere y miren que hubo varios: Mario 64, Mario Golf, Mario Tenis, Mario Party, etc pero como este no hay dos. Por que? - pues porque este pertenece al genero de lucha o batalla lo cual era algo novedoso en el universo de Mario Bros.

Part of the Mario saga could not be missing from this list and I do it with one of the best games that came out on the Nintendo 64 as far as Mario is concerned and look at there were several: Mario 64, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario Party, etc but like this there are not two. Básicamente es un crossover entre varias de las franquicias más relevantes e importantes de la Nintendo, ya sean Donkey Kong, Zelda, Star Fox, Kirby, Pokemon, Metroid, entre otros. El todo de este juego era pelear entre todos, así como se lee, siendo el atractivo principal el multijugador ya que podíamos jugarlo con cuatro personas lo cual lo hacía bastante entretenido.

Además era un juego que tenía nueve escenarios siendo todos ellos parte igualmente de estas franquicias de las que les hablé anteriormente. Pocos juegos, tan fuera de lo tradicional, han calado tanto en la gente como este porque si, muy común no era ya que estaba incluido en juegos de pelea y viendo las referencias que habían, Tekken o Mortal Kombat, como que no encajaba mucho. Aún así, de los mejores de esta consola e imperdible en mi lista.

It was also a game that had nine scenarios, all of them being equally part of these franchises that I told you about previously. Few games, so out of the traditional, have penetrated as much in people as this one because yes, it was not very common since it was included in fighting games and seeing the references that there were, Tekken or Mortal Kombat, as it did not fit much. Still, one of the best on this console and a must-see on my list.

Este juego para mi fue importante porque fue uno de los que tenía en mi grupo de juegos del 64, además de que todo el universo de Castlevania es una locura. Es el tipico videojuego de aventura y acción en el cual tu vas descubriendo escenarios y mundos a través de un desplazamiento lineal y que a la vez nos vamos encontrando con los enemigos clásicos de esta de esta historia como lo son los esqueletos, las medusas, etc.

This game was important to me because it was one of the ones I had in my '64 game group, plus the whole Castlevania universe is crazy. It is the typical action adventure video game in which you discover scenarios and worlds through a linear movement and at the same time we are encountering the classic enemies of this story, such as skeletons, jellyfish, etc.

El único detalle con este juego es que no contaba con el multijugador pero era tan bueno que realmente a mi no me importaba eso. Siempre he sido un gran fanático de este estilo de juegos en donde tu vas recorriendo mundos o niveles buscando avanzar y donde además no existe una cuenta atrás, es decir, no tienes limite para terminar.

The only detail with this game is that it did not have multiplayer but it was so good that I really did not care about that. I have always been a big fan of this style of games where you go through worlds or levels looking to advance and where there is also no countdown, that is, you have no limit to finish.

Las armas son las típicas de la saga, ya sean el agua bendita y el hacha. Y los personajes pues acá tienes la posibilidad de elegir a dos, a una joven con poderes mágicos y a Reinhardt Schneider, el heredero de la familia Belmont. Increíble juego del que sin duda tengo muy buenos recuerdos y es que todo lo que tiene que ver Castlevania es un plus.

The weapons are typical of the saga, whether they are the holy water and the ax. And the characters because here you have the possibility to choose two, a young woman with magical powers and Reinhardt Schneider, the heir to the Belmont family. Hemos llegado a una de las joyas de la corona del Nintendo 64, el juego multijugador, solo por debajo de GoldenEye, Mario Kart. Un legado que hasta hoy en día sigue en una impresionante vigencia, incluso llegó hasta los teléfonos celulares, y que no creo que llegue el tiempo en que este juego sea olvidado tan fácil.

We have reached one of the crown jewels of the Nintendo 64, the multiplayer game, second only to GoldenEye, Mario Kart. A legacy that continues to this day in an impressive validity, even reached cell phones, and that I do not think the time will come when this game will be so easily forgotten.

El juego competitivo por excelencia para toda la familia llegó en 1996, con unos gráficos increíbles y un modo de juego bastante sencillo, a atrapar a todo el mundo y sumergirlos en este mundo de las carreras. Liderados por Mario están algunos de los personajes del mundo de Mario Bros quienes pueden ser elegidos para competir ellos mismos en las distintas copas.

Seamos sinceros, quien no jugó este juego? - creo que la respuesta es bastante obvia. Incluso seguro habrán quienes tengan el juego en sus teléfonos y hoy en día lo sigan jugando, me incluyo, porque es que realmente no pasa de moda. No voy a decir de que va ni como se juega, eso está bastante claro, lo que si quiero es darle el reconocimiento que merece como fácilmente uno de los mejores tres juegos de toda la consola del Nintendo 64.

Let's face it, who didn't play this game? - I think the answer is quite obvious. Even surely there will be those who have the game on their phones and continue to play it today, I include myself, because it really does not go out of style. I'm not going to say what it goes or how it is played, that is quite clear, what I do want is to give it the recognition it deserves as easily one of the best three games of the entire Nintendo 64 console.

Estos fueron los 5 juegos que más marcaron huella en mi juventud en lo que al Nintendo 64 se refiere. Se que quedaron otros por fuera, Zelda o Mario 64 pero es que con este grupo en especifico fueron con los cuales pasé horas y horas frente al televisor disfrutando esta gran consola que fue el Nintendo 64.

These were the 5 games that most marked my youth when it comes to the Nintendo 64. I know there were others left out, Zelda or Mario 64 but it is with this specific group that I spent hours and hours in front of the television enjoying this great console that was the Nintendo 64.
