¡Bienvenidos una vez más a mi blog, chicos! El día de hoy les traigo un post que se me ocurrió realizar en conmemoración del 4 de Mayo (día —hecho por fans— de Star Wars: May the Forth be with you).
Muchos de nosotros hemos vivido esta saga con mucho fanatismo, conocemos sus frases célebres como Luke, I'm your father... (Luke, yo soy tu padre) o It's over Anakin, I have the High Ground! (Se acabó Anakin, estoy en el terreno alto) o como diría el buen Chewbacca: raaaaaahhgh aarrragghuuhw awwgggghhh hnnnhrrhhh (si entran en esta página y escriben cualquier cosa, verán su traducción en idioma Wookie).
Además de esto, muchos de ustedes posiblemente han jugado o conocen buenos videojuegos de la saga como Star Wars: Knight Of The Old Republic (KOTOR), o el mítico Star Wars: Battlefront, pero yo les traje algo mucho mejor.
Les he traído una joya en los juegos de la gran franquicia de LucasArts como lo es Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Welcome back to my blog, guys! Today I bring you a post that I wanted to make in commemoration of May 4th (day -made by Star Wars fans: May the Forth be with you).
Many of us have lived this saga with much fanaticism, we know a lot of famous phrases as Luke, I'm your father... or It's over Anakin, I have the High Ground! or as the good Chewbacca would say: "Raaaaaahhgh aarrragghuuhw awwgggghhh hnnnhrrhhh" (if you go to the next page and write anything, you'll see its Wookie translation).
Besides this, many of you have probably played or know good video games from the saga like Star Wars: Knight Of The Old Republic (KOTOR), or the mythical Star Wars: Battlefront, but I brought you something better.
I've brought you a gem in the great LucasArts franchise games as is the Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
So, without further ado, let's get started:
El Juego | The Game
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy es un juego desarrollado por la compañía Raven Software y distribuído por la gran franquicia LucasArts; es un videojuego del género FPS o First Person Shooter (Disparo en Primera Persona) y TPS o Third Person Shooter (Disparo en Tercera Persona) a la vez, ya que puedes alternar la cámara en cualquier momento dentro de la experiencia de juego.
Su fecha de lanzamiento fue el 16 de Septiembre de 2003 para PC y el 18 de Noviembre de 2003 fue lanzado para Xbox. Es la continuación de la historia de Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Outcast y trajo bastantes cambios interesantes con respecto a la dinámica de juego de sus predecesores.
Jedi Academy utiliza la misma versión del motor gráfico de Quake III pero con unos cambios dentro de su código interno para poder renderizar las peleas con sables de luz.
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is a game developed by the company Raven Software and distributed by the big franchise LucasArts; it's a FPS or First Person Shooter and TPS or Third Person Shooter video game at the same time, because you can switch the camera at any time within the game experience.
It was released on September 16, 2003 for PC and on November 18, 2003 for Xbox. It's the continuation of the story of Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Outcast and brought quite a few interesting changes from the game dynamics of its predecessors.
Jedi Academy uses the same version of the graphical engine of Quake III but with some changes within the code to be able to render the lightsaber fights.
La Historia | The Story
Durante toda la experiencia de juego, tomas el control del personaje principal, un caballero Jedi llamado Jaden Korr, el cual logró alcanzar una fama poco común dentro del mundo de la fuerza porque pudo construirse un sable láser sin tener ningún tipo de experiencia ni haber tenido un entrenamiento oficial para ello; esto resulta casi imposible de realizar, y como consecuencia, le asignan como maestro a un personaje conocido gracias a la historia del juego anterior (Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Outcast) llamado Kyle Katarn.
La historia se va desarrollando a medida que vas mejorando tus habilidades Jedi gracias a los entrenamientos de Katarn dentro de la academia, además, debes ir derrotando caballeros Sith quienes son discípulos de Ragnos, un poderoso lord Sith el cual una villana conocida como Tavios planea resucitar.
Durante el trayecto, consigues un aliado conocido como Rosh Penin, el cual te ayuda a pelear en muchas ocasiones, hasta que desaparece en circunstancias extrañas; más adelante vuelves a toparte con él pero ahora como enemigo, ya que este ha sucumbido ante el lado oscuro de la fuerza, por lo que debes derrotarlo para poder llegar hasta Tavios, la cual, te hará enfrentarte primero contra su estudiante Alora, pero esta, comienza a tentarte en pasarte al lado oscuro de la fuerza diciéndote que debes matar a Rosh Penin por su traición, esto motivado a que le tenía celos de que Tavion tuviera una preferencia con él.
Along the entire game experience, you control the main character, a Jedi knight named Jaden Korr, who achieved a rare fame within the force world because he was able to build a lightsaber without having any experience or official training for it; this is almost impossible to do, and as a consequence, he's assigned as a master to a character known thanks to the story of the previous game (Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Outcast) named Kyle Katarn.
The story unfolds as you improve your Jedi skills through Katarn's training at the academy, you must defeat Sith knights who are disciples of Ragnos, a powerful Sith Lord who a villain known as Tavios plans to resurrect.
Along the way, you get an ally known as Rosh Penin, who helps you fight many times, until he disappears in strange circumstances; later you meet him again but now as an enemy, since he has succumbed to the dark side of the force, so you must defeat him in order to get to Tavios, which will make you face her student Alora first, but this one, begins to tempt you to go to the dark side of the force by telling you that you must kill Rosh Penin for his betrayal, this motivated by jealousy that she had a preference for him.
La Decisión Final | The Final Decision
Al finalizar el videojuego, debes elegir un camino, si pasarte al Lado Oscuro de La Fuerza o mantenerte en el Lado Claro de La Fuerza como lo has hecho durante toda la historia, esto afectará el resultado final del juego, es decir, si tomas la decisión final, sucede lo siguiente:
Lado Oscuro de La Fuerza: Si decides pasarte al lado oscuro, significa que vas a matar a Rosh Penin, por ende, Jaden se deja llevar por la ira y termina asesinándolo. Además de eso, también asesina a Alora para ir a pelear contra Tavios ya que piensa que ella es demasiado débil para obtener el poder del cetro de Ragnos, y mientras se dirige hacia ella, va asesinando a cada Jedi o Sith que se atraviese en su camino, simplemente pierde el control y como batalla final, luego de vencer a Tavios, debes luchar contra Kyle Katarn en una épica batalla Maestro - Alumno en dónde terminas venciendo y Kyle finge estar muerto debajo de unas piedras que le arrojas con la fuerza y terminas alejándote en una nave del Imperio.
Lado Claro de La Fuerza: Si decides mantenerte en el lado claro de la fuerza, significa que decides perdonar a Rosh Penin, esto hace que él te ayude a luchar contra Alora y tras derrotarla, te diriges hacia la tumba de Ragnos con ayuda de muchos Jedi que te encuentras en el camino. Al llegar, Travios utiliza el cetro de Ragnos y le permite a este poseer su cuerpo para enfrentarse a ti en un duelo final Héroe - Villano. Luego de vencerla, no planeas asesinarla, pero la corrupción provocada por Ragnos en su cuerpo termina causándole la muerte, finalmente, Jaden cierra la tumba de Ragnos para siempre.
At the end of the game, you must choose a path, whether to go to the Dark Side of the Force or stay on the Light Side of the Force as you have done throughout history, this will affect the final outcome of the game, if you make the final decision, this will be the end of the story:
Dark Side Of The Force: If you decide to go to the dark side, it means you're going to kill Rosh penin, so Jaden goes into a rage and ends up killing him. On top of that, he also kills Alora to go fight Tavios because he thinks she's too weak to get the power of the scepter of Ragnos, and as he heads towards her, he kills every Jedi or Sith that comes his way, he simply loses control and as the final battle, after defeating Tavios, you must fight Kyle Katarn in an epic battle Master - Student, you end up winning and Kyle pretends to be dead under some stones that you throw at him with force and you end up leaving in an Empire ship.
Light Side of the Force: If you decide to stay on the light side of the force, it means that you decide to forgive Rosh Penin, this makes him help you fight Alora and after defeating her, you head for the grave of Ragnos with the help of many Jedi that you find on the way. Upon arrival, Travios uses the scepter of Ragnos and allows him to possess his body to face you in a final duel Hero - Villain. After defeating her, you don't plan to kill her, but the corruption caused by Ragnos in her body ends up causing her death. Finally, Jaden closes Ragnos' tomb forever.
El Modo Multijugador | Multiplayer Mode
Otro aspecto interesante dentro del juego, es que se puede jugar en modo multijugador pero no Co-Op (Cooperativo) sino JcJ (Jugador contra Jugador), y como dije anteriormente, el juego funciona con el motor de Quake III, esto permite que en los servidores dedicados se puedan jugar partidas de hasta 32 jugadores a la vez.
Dentro de la experiencia del modo multijugador, hay diferentes tipos de partidas, entre las cuales están:
FFA (Free For All o Libre Para Todos): El tipo de partida clásico, donde solo se batalla libremente contra los enemigos, literalmente es un todos contra todos.
Duelos: En este tipo de partida, solo hay batallas de uno contra uno y los demás solo se mantienen como espectadores dentro de la partida, luego, se eligen dos jugadores más de la lista y así sucesivamente todos van esperando sus turnos.
Duelos por el poder: Es el mismo tipo de partida que el anterior, pero con la diferencia de que el duelo ahora es de dos contra uno donde el jugador solitario se ve potenciado y los jugadores en dúo se ven nerfeados.
TFFA (Team Free For All): El mismo tipo de partida de Todos Contra Todos pero por equipos, está el equipo azul y el equipo rojo.
Asalto: Se juega en equipos pero sin color asignado, el mapa te va colocando objetivos específicos en un tiempo límite y las armas y poderes van variando a medida que la partida avanza.
Lugormod: Es un Mod del Jedi Academy, en el que juntas dinero y experiencia, el poder se mide por niveles y puedes decidir si ser Jedi/Sith al utilizar la fuerza y sables láser o Mercenario utilizando armas.
Another interesting aspect within the game, is that you can play in multiplayer mode but not Co-Op (Cooperative) but PvP (Player versus Player), and as I said before, the game works with the Quake III engine, this allows that in the dedicated servers you can play games of up to 32 players at the same time.
Within the experience of the multiplayer mode, there are different game types, among which are:
FFA (Free For All): The classic type of game, where you only fight freely against your enemies, is literally all vs all.
Duels: In this type of game, there are only one-on-one battles and the others are only spectators in the game, then two more players are chosen from the list and so on, everyone wait for a turn to duel.
Duels for power: It's the same type of game as the previous one, but with the difference that the duel is now two versus one where the lone player is empowered and the duo players are nerfed.
TFFA (Team Free For All): Same type of game as Free For All, but in teams, there is the blue team and the red team.
Assault: It is played in teams but without an assigned color, the map places specific objectives in a time limit and the weapons and powers vary as the game progresses.
Lugormod: It is a mod from the Jedi Academy, in which you combine money and experience, the power is measured by levels and you can decide if you want to be a Jedi or a Sith by using force and lightsabers or by using weapons.
La Conclusión | The Conclusion
Este es un videojuego que a pesar de ser bastante viejo (solo 17 años de edad) sigue mantiéndose como uno de los grandes lanzamientos que derivan de la gran saga de Star Wars pues aún la fanaticada y los videojugadores lo prefieren y lo juegan al pasar el tiempo.
Tanto ha sido el impacto, que Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy fue relanzado para PS4 y para Nintendo Switch, así que su legado continúa vigente.

This is a videogame that in spite of being quite old (only 17 years old) it still remains as one of the great releases derived from the great Star Wars saga because even fans and gamers prefer it and play it as time goes by.
It has been so popular, that Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy was re-launched for PS4 and for Nintendo Switch, so its legacy continues.

This game, THIS FUCKING GAME, do you have any idea of how much I've played this? I used to win tournaments of this, man the memories! Great review man, but I think you have mentioned that Disney decided to delete this from the official canon to insert their half-assed, toy-selling story... PRICKS!
