This is a real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment for Microsoft Windows and MacOS X platforms. Its official release was on July 27, 2010 for the aforementioned digital platforms. This game as I mentioned before is of strategies where the player must direct his own combat unit, where in it there will be characters in charge of collecting, attack, healing, transport, etc.. This game is the sequel of StarCraft that was launched to the market in 1998 and where StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is maintained in the line of the original edition, but with certain changes to improve each one of the aspects that we normally have in the video games, such as the gameplay that is one of the most important aspects that we can find in the games since this is what gives us most of the entertainment, beyond the importance that also has the technical part of the game (graphics and sounds), but I will talk about it later in this publication.

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty starts four years after the end of Brood War and narrates the destiny of the three races that inhabit the StarCraft universe. Now Jim Raynor is a rebel fighting against Arcturus Mengsk to end his tyranny and domination. The story begins when Jim Raynor is sitting in a bar and Tychus Findlay arrives. He tells him that he has come to do business about some Xel'Naga artifacts. Later, the Zerg attack Mar Sara, and other worlds after not being at war for a long time, Jim Raynor escapes in his Hyperion ship along with a piece of the Xel'Naga Artifact. He then continues to get artifacts on Xel'Naga planets while fighting against Mengsk and the Dominion, but many unexpected things happen.

Starting with the gameplay, the first thing I should mention is that the game is a strategist game as I have already mentioned on several occasions, where the player must know how to choose a combat unit if he wants to win the games to defeat the opposing buildings and obtain resources to create his own. By winning games the player will obtain resources in the game, the most important of which are mineral resources and gas, in order to create a large army. These two resources both minerals and gas are collected by a specialized unit, while we also have resources called supply that depends on the race of the members of the unit. Among the different races units have Terran, Zerg and Protoss. Among the three races the one that I like the most and stand out are the Terrans that have proven to be a great adversary for both Protoss technology experts and voracious Zerg, where each of them have specific characteristics and skills that will help us according to the strategy that we put together as players.

Among the game modes we have The campaign mode which is the best because it is available to be multiplayer player which is always very well received by players, but not only that is that this mode itself offers us more content than the multiplayer mode itself, plus this campaign mode tells us an excellent story within the game. In addition to these two modes where we can play online we have single player modes, where you fight against Artificial Intelligence (AI). These single player game modes will give us certain achievements and resources, as a result of having completed the missions presented by the game. In terms of gameplay this game gives us a great experience as the player also has the availability to select which mission to do at the right time or at least at the convenience that we have at that time, a fairly complete game in this aspect and that tells us an excellent story for the delight of users.

In the game we can select several fighting modes either one on one, two against two and up to four against four, which gives a greater variety to the game. Besides that for this sequel was added what we know in many RPGs as leagues, which is good because it divides the players according to their level and experience to make the games more balanced. The truth is that the game has a great variety of things that were improved with respect to its predecessor and that was already a pretty good game. Another thing that has left me very gratified is the social platform of the game that allows players to exchange information, chat, meet and interact with each other, either through a chat and even a voice channel, but the best thing is that we can practice or make our own games and whether they are published for other players to join or private for groups or friends only.

Now I will talk about the technical part starting with the graphics. Graphically it is not the best game compared to the gameplay and entertainment of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. The modeling of the characters, structures and units is correct, but the artistic level of the game is quite high, both of the locations through which the units move and the groups themselves are well created, being the best as far as the graphics of this game is concerned. Another thing that I liked a lot are the visual effects that occur in the battles that tend to be mostly very colorful, with large explosions, light beams, the vomit of the zerg or Protoss energy balls. What is the fluidity of the game is very good and more when you meet the recommended system requirements. In general the graphic section is fine, it is not the best of the game but it has many things that are good even surprising or quite outstanding.

The sound is good, with good sound effects, you can hear really well the explosions, the detonations, the blows that are given in the battles. Another thing that I really like is how the voices of the characters are heard at the time of the dialogues between the characters, however some voices do not sound so good, some dialogues sound with a lot of volume, while others can be heard with difficulty but this is in very few things, thus being the negative part of the sound section. What is the soundtrack is very impressive with a very good variety of musical themes that are according to the situation in which we find ourselves, plus the interface music is quite entertaining for the player, however we always have the option to remove the sound if we wish.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty in conclusion is a game worth trying, in terms of gameplay is quite entertaining, with lots of material to keep players busy for a long time and the best thing is that with very few errors that I could notice. The highlight is the campaign mode that has a good variety and tells an excellent story, even more than the multiplayer, plus it allows us to interact between players either through a text chat or a voice channel. The game is not totally perfect because it has some errors but these are not able to overshadow the flood of positive feelings that the game transmits as soon as you hit Start Game. For all of the above I give it a 9.8 for the gameplay, game modes and entertainment, a 9 for the graphics and a 9.4 for the sound.

For all the above, I give a 9.4 out of 10 to StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.
