Pokémon Black and White Edition

Pokémon Black and White Edition is a video game of the famous anime Pokémon, which was developed by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Ds platform. It was officially released on September 18, 20101 in Japan and in 2011 in Europe and North America. This is the fifth installment of the Pokémon saga for Nintendo Ds and Nintendo 3DS consoles, as well as PC. This installment offers us a new variety of 156 species of pokémon more to capture in our pokedex, giving us a total of 700 different pokemon. Besides that it includes an update as the incorporation of the chat to the video game, new animation of combat, graphics and interaction between the players with global Pokémon Link. The story of this game is the same as the previous sagas, where we will see a young man whose dream is to become a Pokemon master and embarks on an adventure to capture pokemon and fight in various tournaments to achieve the ultimate goal of our role in this great and very famous game.

In this installment we will travel to the region of Teselia, a place far away from the previous installment. As I mentioned earlier, the game consists of a young man which we will control throughout the game that begins his adventure capturing and training pokemon to win to win the 8 medals of this region in each gym, where we will face the leaders of each of them in order to achieve the goal that is to get the awards, in order to attend the Pokémon league and thus face other players to win the title of champion of the region of Thessaly. But yes, we will not be alone in the game, on our way we will meet other trainers, with the so-called plasma team of chechis, which for a change, intends to dominate the world. Fortunately, Nintendo in this installment has not wanted our game to be a journey without more and focus on the development of Pokémon Black And White, especially with the missions and battles, making this a more unique delivery than the previous ones.

The gameplay of this game turns out to be quite interesting and it brings us new developments with respect to the previous games of this saga that make the game more interesting and entertaining, because not only the developer focused on the story of the game, but it was highlighted in what is the gameplay, especially in the missions that we must complete to obtain the various medals. The difficulty level of the game is not so high, but in some things and when we acquire more experience, it can get a little more difficult as we advance through the stadiums and places in the region of Teselia.

As for the combats I can tell you that it is one of the most important things of the game have undergone good changes, at least from my point of view, however with regard to the system of change of three has not been anything good because it tends to be a little tangled for players, but as we go forward in the game, this can be improved gradually. Another thing that has undergone major changes in terms of gameplay is the distribution of experience points of the players that has been quite satisfactory because the points will be distributed depending on many factors such as the level of the pokémon used by our opponent, in addition to the amount of pokemon we use, will greatly affect the delivery of experience, which is good because it puts a little difficulty to increase our level in the game.

As for the graphics, I can tell you that the game looks good for 2010 and for the DS game console. Among the highlights of this game is the animations I improved a lot, which makes the game more eye-catching for players when having battles. What is the camera view is from the top which gives us a better view of the environment and the different scenarios through which we must pass during the adventure of this game. Another thing I really liked is the effects, however it is a step below the animations. The scenery looks very good, both in the houses, buildings, forests, the different gyms where the fights take place, among others. The interface of the game is according to the same, nothing outstanding but it fulfills its mission. The fluidity of the game is really good, nothing I can complain about. In general terms and in terms of the graphics of this game I can tell you that it is good and more for the style of it, plus it is for a game console of this style.

The sound is also a highlight of this game, mainly the sound effects and the soundtrack. The sound effects, both those that occur in battles, as the environmental and dialogues are heard quite well, nothing that is impressive but if they fully comply with its mission. The soundtrack is entertaining, very varied and according to the game, both in the menu and in the game itself. The voices of the game are in Japanese, however it has a Spanish translation, which is a very good thing for Pokémon Black and White.

In conclusion, Pokémon Black and White Edition is a main game for the DS console that is quite entertaining, with great improvements in that they added new Pokemon, the gameplay goes beyond the story of the game that is similar to previous installments of this game, the animations improved a lot what I liked the work that was done in this aspect. The graphics are pretty good, not perfect but if they meet the same as the sound. In short, this game is worth a try because if you like the Pokémon saga I think you can love this game. For all these reasons I give a 9.5 to the gameplay, a 9.2 to the graphics and a 9 to the sound.
