Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is a reedition of the game Baldur's Gate, which is a role-playing game or RPG developed by Overhaul Games. This game follows the original line where only some changes were made to improve it or at least that was the idea. Its release was on November 30, 2012 for Microsoft Windows, iPad and Mac OS X digital platforms. The original game Baldur's Gate caused a great revolution in its release in 1998 Well, this game has the first two games of the saga and several of its expansions and DLCs. Within Baldur's Gate we find the expansion Siege of Dragonspear and the additional campaign The Black Pits. On the other hand, Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn arrives together with Throne of Bhaal and The Black Pits II Gladiators of Thay. We will be able to play for hundreds of hours, because there is content to give and give away. The plot of this game tells us how a young man who had no parents or any kind of family was raised by a wizard named Gorion, where he decides to leave the city in a hasty and surprising way, but on the way he is killed and that is where a series of events that leads to the main story of this game is unleashed. As for the gameplay, I will start by mentioning that the player must select a character who will lead throughout the adventure and the story of this game, but the best thing is that you will also control 5 more companions. Each of these characters has different characteristics and skills for combat, and their behavior will be different from each other, which gives some realism in this aspect to the game. The combat system of this game is good, where the strategy is the order of the day, in which the player must take into account a number of factors and possibilities to complete the largest number of missions in order to gain a lot of experience in the game. The strategies in this kind of game are so important that we must always put together a balanced team since, as I mentioned before, each hero or character has a different ability for combat and their behavior in the field is not at all similar. However, not everything is good and the game has many problems regarding the detection of objects and other characters.

Each of the 6 characters of which we can form our team, can be equipped with weapons, armor, spells and skills. The best thing is that the player must initially create their own character in an editor which is always a positive plus in games because users can create their characters to their liking, and then increase the level of that character to make the missions much easier. The difficulty of this game is high which makes this game quite entertaining for players, always the player must lead with combat system that is usually really hard for players and more for those novices who are not so expert in these types of role-playing games and more of this classic that was one of the best for the 90s, however it has some details that we can criticize it compared to current games, but from my point of view it is still a great game in terms of gameplay and difficulty level, so I invite you to try it because it is worth it.

This game can be played online which is really good, however it has been criticized harshly by players because the system that uses the game is very archaic, where they still maintain the creation of the games through IP, which to be worse do not work well at all, which makes you down several points in the final score of the gameplay of this game. However the creator of the game was working on their own servers for the creation of games, which I can not tell you if it is currently in operation. Another thing that is always important to mention is the configuration of the controls and is that in this game is very easy or at least for me. In the PC version it is usually easier since we use the keyboard and mouse, where we place the functionality to the keys that we use most commonly or those that are more comfortable for us. This game presents us with a good amount of content which makes the gameplay interesting and entertaining, but it still has some details that for the time when the original game was released was not as remarkable as it is today, but it does not stop lowering the high level of this game.

Graphically the game not much to my liking but you have to understand that it is original from 1998 and although it has some improvements, it is still correct for the genre but some regular compared to current RPGs. The scenarios were very colorful for the time but compared to the current ones is far behind, but we must consider that the game is retro with an update package. For this version of the game the developer concentrated more on increasing the resolution than on improving the animations, neither has detail been added, nor has a new personality been brought to the title, which disappointed me a lot because I expected more from the creator of these "improvements". The detail of the characters is very poor and more in this version that with some of the changes that were made have worsened it even more. The visual effects do look a little better than the other points mentioned in the graphic section. The fluidity of the game is something positive, since it has a good fluidity, the textures load fast and the interface of the game is according to the theme of the game.

At the sound level, the game remains as the original with good sound effects that occur in combat, both those made by the characters and the environmental ones. The soundtrack is also like the original although some musical themes have been added to give a greater variety to this game. Another positive thing is that despite the game having English voices of the characters during the dialogues, an update was added where all the dialogues were translated, which has greatly improved the sound part of the game, and if I'm honest it is the strongest part of this game. That said, it should be noted that the sound problems detected when changing the language of the texts on screen seem to have been solved, which turns out to be a success on the part of Overhaul Games.

In conclusion, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is a game that can provide great entertainment due to the large amount of content it has and how difficult it is in terms of difficulty, beyond some errors in the gameplay that makes the game lose some level. The interface of this game was improved a lot as well as the graphics but the result was not as successful as expected. The sound is the best of this game in the technical part, since the soundtrack is kept as the original only some themes were added to give more variety, the dialogues were translated into Spanish, something that is very positive. Overall this game does not have many changes from the original so if you like retro games I invite you to try this one. For everything concluded is that I give a 7.5 to the gameplay, a 6.5 to the graphics and a 9 to the sound.
