These are my favorite types of video games!

There are moments where I miss playing video games. I've been a gamer since I was about three or four years old. I remember playing with my brother and cousins many types of games. I even remember that my father used to be very good in Dr. Mario, he never liked video games but in that game he was a master, he stopped playing because he forced his eyes a lot.

Some of the first video games I played were Super Mario Bros. Duck Hunt, Pac-Man, an old Flintstones game for MS-DOS and also a weird game with a cat that had to jump over trash cans. In my childhood I played all sorts of games: sports, adventure, fighting, racing, role play, fantasy, war and I remember that I didn't care about the gender I only wanted to have fun. Today I am more selective in what I play, I don't like to play sports or racing games, I also dislike games that can punish the player for simple mistakes, I do not deal well with frustration and to be honest I am not a very skilled player.

In my teenage years I started to discover the games that I really liked, in those years I found Role Playing Games: Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG and also some adventure and fantasy games like The Legend of Zelda. These types of games became some of my favorite games. Later I discovered that I loved to level up characters and make progress in the games, if a game has that type of elements I will play it, even if it is an action game or any other type of game.

There is something special in games where you are able to start from zero and little by little make progress. With each strike become stronger, with each spell you are wiser and with each stealthy kill you become sneakier. I remember the first time I played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, it was not only a full world to explore but you could even level up by jumping and running all around. If you are not familiar with the level up system of that game let me try to explain it to you:

image.png

In the game you have skills and the more you use them you increase their level, after leveling up a certain number of skills you can level up your character and become stronger. I remember that I summoned a skeleton soldier to fight with me but instead I started hitting him with a sword, I threw fireballs at it or shot some arrows and I even let it hit me to level up my armor skills. It was fun because I could level up several skills at the same time.

Fallout and Skyrimg have similar leveling up systems but I will always remember Oblivion and it will have a special place in my heart.

Other types of games hat I really like are farm simulation games, or any other simulation but that also has RPG elements. I have played Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley and more recently Graveyard Keeper.

The following videos are from some of the games that I missed playing. As I talked in previous blogs I prefer spending time playing Blockchain games, but there are times where I miss playing regular games, I'm sure that soon I will also find time to monetize that content, either with blogs like this one, with videos and/or with livestreams. Gaming journalism has always been something that I have been interested in. Here are the videos:

Borderlands 3

I was this close [] to buying this game, I even made a pre order on the Xbox One, but it wasn't charged to my card so I cancelled it, because I needed money for my wedding. Some days later I sold my Xbox One, it was a hard decision but I do not regret it and I can buy a new one in the future.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

I have played this game on two occasions, one time in the Wii U and the other in Nintendo Switch, but I have never played it enough and I still want to play it completely. After buying a better computer I may buy a Nintendo Switch next.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

I've heard so much about this game even that is one of the most sold games ever. Even though I haven't seen a lot of gameplay I think this game is my type of game, because it is similar to Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley.

Overwatch

I have played Overwatch a LOT. But I have played it mostly in shitty PCs so I have never enjoyed it to the fullest and like it or not if you have a lot of lag or low fps in the game you can't play as well as others. Overwatch 2 has been announced and I hope it is good as the first one.

I also want to play other games like Final Fantasy VII, Diablo IV, The Last of Us 2, The Witcher 3& Cyberpunk 2077:

If the price of HIVE keeps going up, I may be able to buy a new computer and a couple of gaming consoles too. In the meantime I will keep playing Splinterlands and the other Blockchain games that I have been playing. I love building content and interacting in Hive and for me this is like a big MMORPG where I can level up in many ways.

Hope that you guys are alright and read you in the next post!

Fantastic blog, we share a lot of the same interests in video games. Now if only I could take some time off of Hive work to actually play.

Yes, we need a lot of time, the best scenario is to monetize the gameplays/reviews/live streams to earn more Hive.

That is very true, but video games are not my favorite style of things to use for creations. Live-streaming could be fun though I’m sure. I’d rather play as a leisure activity instead of turn it into work. I WILL say that I am rather excited for cyberpunk, that is the first game to get my hyped in awhile.

I at least like knowing the reason that something is not working instead of being left in the dark. I am glad that they updated that post. Hopefully the ETA remains accurate.

I can see we share some interest on some types of videogames, especially for The Bethesda RPGs. I wrote a Post about SkyBlivion. In the case you don't know about it, you really should read it because I think everybody want to see Oblivion to have a second life.

Thank you! I have heard about SkyBlivion but I have never tried it, I believe that there is a similar concept but with Mirrowwind, right? I'm gonna check it out. I have Skyrim on Steam, what I do not have is a good PC to run it... lol!

Yes ! There is also SkyWind for Morrowind. You can also find Fallout 4 The capital wasteland to play fallout 3 in the fallout 4 engine !
I hope you'll find a great PC to play it, Skyrim is old enough to make a cheap PC able to run it ! 😉

Yes, RPGs are great! Right now I'm not very updated on upcoming games, I don't like to get excited about them because I know that right now I can't play them.
