Hive Gaming Community Contest - Worst games or gaming experiences

Wow! This contest left me a bit perplexed because initially I immediately tried to remember which game I may have judged as bad but in the immediate future nothing seemed so negative. Maybe because as a child I always played any game I had in my hands and I don't remember ever having discarded anything.

Questo contest mi ha lasciato un po' perplesso perché inizialmente ho subito cercato di ricordare quale gioco possa aver giudicato come pessimo ma nell'immediato nulla mi è apparso di così negativo. Sarà perché da piccolo ho sempre giocato a qualsiasi gioco avessi tra le mie mani e non ricordo di aver scartato mai nulla.

So I had to think a lot and some titles immediately jumped in my head. When I was younger, and I speak in the late 80s, I was a huge fan of the movie E.T., directed by Steven Spielberg. Well, in those years the game version for the Atari 2600 console came out which initially created a bit of the buying rush and so my brother didn't miss that opportunity. From my great expectation of the game, the disappointment was total: a bad game, without a plot, and really horrible to play. The graphics at this time were still 32 bit I think but a lot of the games were still incredibly beautiful and fun. But ET? Really a real disaster.

Così ho dovuto riflettere molto e qualche titolo mi è subito sobbalzato nella mia testa. Quando ero più piccolo, e parlo alla fine degli anni 80, ero un grande fan del film E.T., regia di Steven Spielberg. Bene, i quegli anni uscì la versione game per la console Atari 2600 che inizialmente creò un po' la corsa all'acquisto e così mio fratello non si fece sfuggire quell'opportunitá. Dalla mia grande aspettativa di gioco, la delusione fu totale: un gioco brutto, senza trama, e davvero orribile da giocare. La grafica a questi tempi era ancora a 32 bit credo ma molto giochi furono comunque incredibilmente belli e divertenti. Ma ET? Davvero un vero disastro.

My thoughts previously shared by millions of players who considered the game a flop and recently, in an interview with its creator, he himself confirmed that it was really bad. Honestly, I also removed the plot, total darkness, and that kind of gives an idea of how horrible it was. Another game that I have never liked and it is a little more recent is Tekken 3. Game born for the PlayStation 1 console, late 90s, and has been quite successful even among my friends.

Il mio pensiero di precedentemente condiviso da milioni di giocatori che reputarono il gioco un flop e di recente, in una intervista al suo ideatore, lui stesso ha confermato essere stato davvero brutto. Sinceramente ho rimosso anche la trama, buio totale, e questo un po' rende l'idea di quanto fosse stato orribile. Un altro gioco che non mi è mai piaciuto ed è un po' più recente è Tekken 3. Gioco nato per la console PlayStation 1, fine anni 90, e ha riscosso un discreto successo anche tra i miei amici.

For those unfamiliar with it, it is a Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter style fighting game but, unlike the games I just mentioned, Tekken does not add anything new, on the contrary it seems a bit like the characters of the other games. Despite being newer, the graphics are worse than the two competitors and I really can't find a point in their favor.

Per chi non lo conoscesse, è un gioco di combattimento stile Mortal Kombat o Street Fighter ma, a differenza dei giochi che vi ho appena nominati, Tekken non aggiunge nulla di nuovo, anzi sembra un po' riprendere i personaggi degli altri giochi. Nonostante sia più recente, la grafica è peggiore dei due competitors e davvero non riesco a trovare un punto a proprio favore.

Playability is practically dubious and the moves are always the same, no innovation. I remember trying to play a few times but after the first challenge I hit the Off button and changed the CD. The good will on my part was there but I never established a good feeling with Tekken 3. Another big disappointment, although it is a game that has been a huge success worldwide, but I honestly did not like it at all, is Clash of Clans. I may be unpopular but I didn't like it and wouldn't recommend it to others.

La giocabilità è praticamente dubbia e le mosse sono sempre le stesse, nessuna innovazione. Ricordo di aver provato a giocare qualche volta ma dopo la prima sfida schiacciavo il tasto Off e cambiavo il CD. La buona volontà di parte mia c'era ma non ho mai instaurato un buon feeling con Tekken 3. Altra grande delusione, sebbene sia un gioco che ha riscosso un enorme successo a livello mondiale, ma a me sinceramente non è piaciuto per niente, è Clash of Clans. Risulterò forse impopolare ma a me non è piaciuto e non lo consiglierei ad altri.

Quite chaotic game as a whole and with not very satisfying graphics, although I have also played it on latest generation smartphones. I come from the world of Warcraft so I know the structure of the game well: from a small camp of a few warriors you need to create a strong army, which can face and defeat enemies, enlarging your kingdom.

Gioco abbastanza caotico nel suo complesso e dalla grafica non molto soddisfacente, seppur io ci abbia giocato anche su smartphone di ultima generazione. Io provengo dal mondo di Warcraft quindi conosco bene la struttura del gioco: da un piccolo accampamento di pochi guerrieri bisogna creare un esercito forte, che possa affrontare e sconfiggere i nemici, ingrandendo il proprio regno.

I remember installing the game twice because I wanted to give Clash of Clans a second chance after some time, reading the enthusiasm for the game almost everywhere. Even the second time, after a few days of playing, I decided to cancel it because I really played it almost forcibly. I probably loved Warcraft so much that I find everything else unattainable. Maybe in the future I will try to download it again on my smartphone ...

Ricordo di aver installato due volte il gioco perché ho voluto a distanza di tempo dare a Clash of Clans una seconda possibilità, leggendo un po' ovunque l'entusiasmo per il gioco. Anche la seconda volta, dopo qualche giorno di gioco, ho deciso di cancellarlo perché davvero ci giocavo quasi forzatamente. Probabilmente ho talmente amato Warcraft che tutto il resto lo reputo irraggiungibile. Forse in futuro proverò a scaricarlo di nuovo sul mio smartphone...
