My friend bought some 80% receivers, and I thought you might like to see them.

Online purchases these days, AR 80% receiver; to allow a Citizen to make their own self defense weapon.

I checked online, at least 80% receivers are on backorder for 16 weeks now; because people are afraid that they're going to be restricted soon! The claim is, that with hand tools and the investment of a little time; you can turn this into a receiver for a rifle.

20210523_002107.jpg

My friend brought several of these, intending to build up a couple of rifles. These are polymer 80% receivers with Kevlar filler for longevity. He should be able to machines them with a drill press, and finish them with a file.

Whrn I looked at pricing, these are about 30 dollars today. The full build kit is about $475, so if you don't mind getting your hands dirty; you can build up an AR platform up for about $500.

They did a pretty good job on the molding;
20210523_002118.jpg

And the black color looks like it will match the kid that he got pretty good;
20210523_002137.jpg

They need a rather large pocket cut from the top down through the trigger the house the lower Hardware. This surface will be substantially removed when completed.

20210523_002144.jpg
I believe he said the 10 when will be made into a 9 millimeter carbine, and the black one will be made into a 556. I am assuming that the 9 mm is also in the desert color, they must plan that to be able to tell them apart on the Range.

I will see if I can get pictures of them when he finishes, likely I can if I take him out to the range with me.

Years ago I had decided that every time the Democrats did something stupid, I would pick up another AR. I realized early on that I couldn't afford to do that because they're doing too damn many stupid things! But I think everybody should have at least one of these, not because they're ballistically impressive; but because the Liberals hate them so much.

This is a right protected by the Second Amendment, and every citizen should exercise that's right! I would say my friend was his smart, to get some before the Liberals try to shut all this down. We need to vote these fools out before they do us irreparable harm!

You need to be able to protect your own family, because even as they defend the police; they spent almost two million dollars on increased Security in DC. So apparently their security is important, and you don't matter! You know someone by their actions, and you should ignore their words when they conflict with their actions! Their actions show their heart, and their General disdain for citizens of this country.

Remember also that $500 is a cheap insurance policy for the protection of your family! So everyone should go out and get one of these, in spite of the 16-week lead that is showing up these days. There are enough how to videos on building these that just about anybody can do it. If not you can ask a friend or neighbor and I'm sure they will help, but I think we approached your time when these will be come critical for everyone to have!

Stay safe, and keep on prepping! I really don't think we will have long to wait.

Treat one another as you want them to treat you, and we will come through this governmrnt overreach with our souls intact. Unlike the politicians who have siezed power. We need to pray for their souls, to help the few who haven't sold them already!

I think he did well, I'll see how it goes when he builds them.

Very nice. On a flight back to the US tomorrow. Looking forward to a little gun cleaning and shooting.

Welcome home! It's not quite what it was when you left, but it's still better than most places at the gun range. I hope you have fun, be sure to be careful. But it's always fun to turn money into noise!

These are certainly going to be very useful in the long run! I need to pick up a few rifles myself, but I don't think it would be a good idea for me to try and build one. I'll definitely need help for that. lol

Find somebody local that can help you. The AR is not that hard to assemble, it just has to go together in a specific way. The first one I put together, I spent half my time taking apart what I just done to put in the piece that has to go in first.

But with knowledgeable help you can put it together in less than an hour after you get the 80% receiver cut out properly. I saw a blemished full kit at Palmetto State Armory for less than $400 tonight. If a little scratch doesn't bother you that might be a good option for you. CBC Industries has good quality at decent prices too.

The one thing they are platform has, is the ability to change uppers; and make a new rifle. I'm intrigued by the 300 Blackout, and it might be nice to have a 9 mm carbine. But the sky's the limit, since there are maybe a dozen options for varying calibers.

Be careful with those polymer builds they definitely are not as durable as the aluminum version.

Accidentally needed to clear out room on my phone and just before I read this post I deleted all my ar15 build photos.

However it really isn't that difficult when you have a jig.

And if I were you I would poke around and see about ordering a jig as well as a couple extra 80% lowers.

Yep that's right with the idiot who is looking for a confirmation to being the bureau of alcohol tobacco and firearms leader says that he is in favor of an assault weapons band and specifically banning AR-15s...

Openly prejudiced appointment. And an appointment to the worst Federal agency ever and also this individual is leading idiots that shot a pregnant woman at Ruby ridge and then murdered a huge amount of women and children during the entire Waco debacle.

It seems that the Democrats are ramping up all this idiotic behavior and if I would have bought a gun and put it away for every time this month they have made an absolutely moronic mistake I wouldn't have any place to sleep in my car....

Anyway puppy dog says hello hello.

He's a good boy! Real cute. :-)

I know about the polymer frames, these are polymer mixed with Kevlar fibers, so they should be fine.

I have aluminum myself, but these are supposed to last for 20,000 rounds vs 50,000 for the aluminium ones. I will never fire that many low power 556 rounds. They are mainly to piss off the liberals.

Thought you'd like this....

I got my wife home from the hospital today, so my dog is real happy.

I have a jig, and a full machine shop. It might be fun to cast one of these, just to see if I can.

Actually I love that picture.

And in my experience I have had friends who have had polymer lowers fail in as little as 100 rounds.

The reinforced versions that they had to come up with because of these issues are way better.

However look up the long life AR-15s. There is a full auto machine gun rental in Las Vegas that has AR-15s that have been documented with million plus rounds.

AK-47s actually only can do 100,000 rounds before you shoot the barrel out.

And the difference is is the mayor 15 you just unscrew a barrel nut and replace the barrel a couple of screws a new bolt and the AR-15 can do another 100,000 rounds.

So....

Just go get a couple Anderson $50 AR-15 lowers and that wonderful jig as well as milling machine and you are making a much better investment with your time.....

Good job that your friend is getting into this however avoiding the polymer unless it's the polymer 80 Glocks.... Is definitely an advisable thing.

And we will see but I think that's going to sum up my adventure. And I'm getting an ambidextrous one in two or three months. So I'm super excited for that to happen.

These are the reinforced type, but mine are aluminum. My daily carry is polymer, and it has been flawless. Besides, I can't afford 50,000 rounds, LOL!

I don't care for full auto, it just wastes rounds. I am large enough to hold it on target, but it is still not accurate.

Agreed, but he will be investing tine, I will show him how, and leave him too it....

I bought the jig before it was popular, so it was inexpensive then. The mill is 7000 pounds, and 7 foot tall; and accurate!

I have helped several new builders assemble their toys, and have allowed one to cut his 80% on my equipment.

That said, to me, the AR -15 is underpowered and not good for much. If I relied on it, I'd go to an AR-10 in a 308.

I prefer an M-14....

Stay safe!

Actually I had the M1A socom2 and even with the shortened barrel. Oh my God that thing was heavy.

Put a scope on it and holy cow.

However the AR-10 system is phenomenal.

That Ruger of mine on paper is the bee's knees and we will see what happens when it gets delivered. If it shoots straight and if they fix the barrel.

The gas piston makes it a little bit heavier but base weight of 8.6 lb I believe...

However a lot of pansies say it's too heavy.

I'm really tickled that I got not only the 10 round magazine but also 20 and 25 round magazines for the SR.

And I need to complete a Rock River lar8 one of these days. Interesting design. Totally proprietary.

And one of these days I need to get more tools

The M1A1 suits me well, and I love the platform! I use the military peep sight with no scope, because my long range will be covered by a 300 win mag.

I wonder if the AR-10 frame can hold up to the 308 charge. I do like the longer case ability, but it is lighter than I like. If it were steel, it might be okay. Titanium would be ideal, but it is difficult to machine.

I am, sadly, a tool whore, LOL! I have one piece of test equipnent that originally sold for $75,000 that I use in my consulting business.

I made a pair of switchable electrodes in my shop that was 5 by 22 foot. Now that was fun...they were powder coated for calibrated electrode areas.

I'm adding investment casting to my metal pouring capability! It's never boring....

Absolutely and you can shoot wonderful calibers like 338 Federal 6.5 creedmoor as well as 243...

Super versatile and I can't wait until they come out with a 40 caliber upper.

I enjoy my 6.5mm Swedish. I have harvested deer at over 450 yards with that round!

But I may build up some AR-10 stuff, but we are running out of time on 80% stuff. May be forced to scratch build....

My Son carries a 40, as a cleet guard at Tulsa University. My Daughter keeps one in her purse too, LOL! Nice size....

Yep and you can get 9mm conversion barrels.

There are a lot of options for sure! It is wise to limit conversioms to calibers that you already have, with ammo where it is. Preferrably one that you reload already.

The AR-9 shoots 9mm pistol ammo, but with a long barrel; you'll get a lot more power out of that round. The prepper goal of both shooting the same round is easily met that way too.

I gave looked at conversion kits for the 45 acp, but since I reload that, and with 22 LR so scarce; I didn't pursue that. Might be interesting with the 556....

Just trying to focus on more prepping before the economy crashes!

Absolutely having some versatility is absolutely amazing.

And as well everyday we see the March slowly towards war with China the collapse of our industrial base and economy as well as radical inflation from a illegitimate fraud of an election of a pedophile with a crackhead son into the White House.

Well it's really not going to matter much when we get to a dust up with China and I have a feeling they are going to be accelerating their plans and this is going to happen quite a bit sooner.

I think that china will push biteme (since he is in their employ) into a war with russia. That way, both are destroyed leaving china intact, to 'help' us; by helping themselves...to anything they want!

Your analysis of the biden crime family is spot on, sadly they are undoubtedly worse than we will ever know....

So, get to the country, and become self sufficient; ASAP!

You're just worried that if she splits firewood, she may decide to womp on you too, ROFLOL!

But the sandwich and drink can be a nice touch!
