More Pirate Treasure Silver - Silver you can hold.

In my stack, I have my collectible numismatic coins, my sealed bullion coins and my low premium higher ounce bars. This post is about another type of silver that I like to stack, that I like to call my pirate treasure.

As you can see from the photo above, my pirate treasure is my rough and ready silver that is not stored in capsules or fancy display cases.

It is good raw silver that you can hold in your hand and touch. Some of the rounds and coins are .999 pure silver, but most of the coins are between .500 to .925 purity.

You can see the green tinge on some of the coins that is actually the start of oxidisation of the copper content in the coins.

Here is my pirate treasure laid out for you all to see:

• The bulk of the coins in the picture are Australian 1966 50c coins. The 1966 50c coin has a silver purity of 80%.
• The smaller coins are a mixture of Australian Shillings and Sixpence coins. The pre-1943 Shilling and Sixpence coins are 92.5% silver purity also known as sterling silver. The post-1943 Shilling and Sixpence coins are 50% silver purity.
• At the back you can see some milk spot 1oz Canadian Maple Leaf silver coins with a purity of 99.99%.
• There some other random silver rounds thrown in there as well, but I am not totally sure what their purity is.

I am always on the hunt for more treasure and random rounds to add to my stack. If I can find the coins for the right price, I am not too fussed on the silver purity, as long as I am picking them up for the silver content value. 🤑
