Wednesday Walk by the Sacramento River, Part 2

(Edited)

I went by the river yesterday.

The water has changed from last week's turquoise blue...

Please click on the photo above to check out my previous Wednesday Walk by the River, Part 1.

... to olive green.

I wonder what is the true color of the Sacramento River .

I love the water and growing up I enjoyed drawing and painting the ocean and river waters blue, like many kids would do.

Here's what a read about What Makes A River Different Colors>.

When it comes to pure water, blue light is reflected while other colors of light, especially reds, are absorbed. When looking at the color of water, it is important to note the difference between the apparent color and true color of a body of water. The apparent color is the color of the water when looking at it without removing any suspended and dissolved particles. True color is the color of the water after the suspended particles have been removed. Suspended particles are things such as algae, sediments, or small particles of a mineral.

I will not pretend to much know about river waters, but

I certainly love the ocean and

gazing out at the water,

and swimming on water.

And if I was not confined to my home,

I'd be in the pool swimming!

Beautiful shots I am always somewhat fascinated in how much a water way can change its color and feel from week to week

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)

Isn't it fascinating? There is this house across the river that I want to show you on Wednesday. When I go back there next week, I will try to zoom in with my iPhone for the photo. I just don't know how it will turn out. Any tips, my friend?
Have a lovely evening, @tattoodjay. Be safe and take care 🥰🌺🤙

Zoom on the phone is so much better than it used to be so I am sure it will be fine and I look forward to seeing that house

:) Stay safe and Healthy

Very interesting! In looking at the two photos, one of the biggest differences I see besides the color of the river, is that in the first one, the sky is a brilliantly vivid blue. In the second, there are a lot of fluffy clouds blocking out the blue of the sky which might account for the darker olive colored water. The clouds even have a bit of gray in them which may be reflected in the color of the water. Interesting how different the same pictures are on different days. Thanks for sharing sis! Have a wonderful night!💕🤗💐
