The BLACK FLAG Silver Coins for #PirateSunday

avatar
(Edited)

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, pirates ruled the seven seas, with each ship displaying a unique "black flag" to announce their arrival and make clear mercy would be given to those who surrendered.

The Perth Mint has created aGold and Silver Series celebrating some of the most famous of these fearsome historical figures.

Source of coin information

The Black Flag Silver Coins

2019 Queen Anne's Revenge & 2020 The Royal Fortune

😍 #ilikeitalot!😍

I had previously featured the 1st release of this series: QUEEN ANNE's REVENGE.

Now, let us look at the 2nd Black Flag release!

2020 Tuvalu 1 oz Silver Black Flag - The Royal Fortune

Sovereign coin backed by Tuvalu government, struck by The Perth. Mint

The second Black Flag release features The Royal Fortune, commanded by the infamous Black Bart. This coin has an extremely limited mintage of only 15,000.

Reverse: Features The Royal Fortune, sailing through a rough sea and proudly displaying the flag of Black Bart. An ominous skull design can be seen looming next to the ship. The design also features the words "THE ROYAL FORTUNE", "BLACK FLAG: BLACK BART", the weight, fineness, and The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mint mark.
Obverse: Features the Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, the coin’s weight and fineness, and the 2020 year-date.

Hehehe... yup, Black Beard and Black Bart. I wonder if they will continue this series with Sam Bellamy's Whydah, and if they do, will it be Black Bell?
Thank you for being first to comment on this article, my friend @goldrooster. I appreciate you!
Have a lovely Sunday, and take care 🥰🌺🤙.

These look amazing. I've been slacking on my silver stacking... it really sucks that many Australian banks now refuse to do business with the Perth Mint. Oh well, I can still buy from them.

Yeah, major banks who dominate gold trading tend to work only with LBMA-accredited refiners, and the last I read was the London Bullion Market Association will investigate allegations that the Perth Mint processed gold from small-scale gold miners in Papua New Guinea who used child labor and toxic mercury. It reminds us of Elemental!
Take care, my friend @johneyreacko! 🥰🌺🤙

The Obverse of the Royal Fortune with the skull in the background is striking @silversaver888!🤗
The 3speak video makes me want to go rewatch Pirates of the Caribbean!!
The Perth Mint has a winner with this silver coin!!!
Thanks for sharing my friend, have a good afternoon!!😍😍😀

I like the reverse myself too. The skull in the 2020 Black Flag is larger and pops out more than the 2019. In the 2019 Black flag, it is in satin finish, and one needs to look at the design closer to notice the skull on the back left of the coin ( towards the bow, starboard side of the ship.) Look!

And that is a great idea! I will watch them all this week (i.e. if I have enough free time, lol)! Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon, and take care, my friend @silvertop 🥰🌺🤙.

Our stacking sis @kerrislravenhill showed the 2018 Fuji Dollar with similar design concept that the Black Flag coins have, so I am thinking that perhaps that was where the engraver-designer of these coins got the idea... from the 1840 Woodblock print Taira no Kiyomori’s Ghostly Vision.

Yes ....I remember that post from @kerrislravenhill!!😀 We watch NHK live out of Tokyo, and they run stories of the History of Japan often, and her post intrigued me! They based this design off of a 1840 woodblock print....that really is impressive😀
Thanks @silversaver888 for reminding me, take care and enjoy the beginning of this new week my friend!!!😍😍😀

Yes, one can't go wrong with a Perth Mint Coin, especially a Tuvalu, usually very low mintage numbers. So if one is into rare, high quality and low quantity rare, 0.9999 Silver Troy's, it usually a great choice. Thanks for sharing, Silversaver888.

Hello, @cve3! How are you doing!

I hope that Perth Mint will continue to be able to produce coins with all the events and scandals happening. Several of the coins that I like were made by them: Kook, Koala, Lunar, Dragon, Swan, and the Black Flag.

Thanks for stopping by today, @cve3. Enjoy the week ahead, and take care 🥰🌺🤙

One Bart's flags is represented by this symbol, a lesser know variety of Flags used by Bart. While Blackbeard had his own Black Flag he had a collection of flags of different nations as a tactic to his unwary victims.

Do you think that Sam Bellamy's Whydah ship will be the next one? I am so eager to see the next design!
Sis, you know about my GoldSaver plans, right? Seriously now... I think that I have more than enough of silver, and as soon as I complete the monster box this year, then gold it is going to be. Silver just takes so much space, and although I love it so much, I just have to detach myself from silver, and do just straight gold. THere may never be a good time to convert this silver to gold. So I just really have to not get silver (except one of each of the government mint coin and continue the regular collections that you already know about...ummm... 😕😒what😧???? what am I saying??? Goodness, I am hopeless😧 I am too addicted to silver, Arrrrgh!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣

That Mutiny Metals bar is really so very pretty! I just love your pirate booty... "It is all about pirate silver!"
Enjoy the week ahead, my lovey sis @kerrislravenhill! Take care 🥰🌺🤙, lots of love💓💝 and a million and one Hugs and Kisses 🤗💕💋!

Captain Sam Bellamy would be an excellent choice Sis, a man who was also known as the Robin Hood of the Seas who detested the English system of exploiting young boys and sailors in the navy. He became the wealthiest of Pirates. But we don't yet know what the mint has decided on.
By the way, I still need to get a quarter troy ounce of gold for my year's gold Stacking quota. I know your Strategy Sis and it's a sound one. I shouldn't worry too much about the price, as all of the gold we do have will average it down. Looks as I may not be able to bring my Cash reserves back to full yet.
Another 1/4 oz Maple Leaf is my 2020 goal.
Samuel Bellamy's Flag by Mutiny Metals!

Always, with love and what glitters of gold.... 🌺 💝 🌹 💓 🌸 🌼

Another beautiful bar, sis! And thanks for showing it here.

I know that there are many Jolly Rogers around. I oftentimes wondered which one is associated with which Pirate character, or is it just a design by contemporary artists.

I know about Bart's Black Flag design because it is shown in art pieces like the one that I used as the banner for the video on this article. And now, thanks to you, I know Sam Bellamy's flag!

Do you think they will call it the Black Bell? Isn't it so interesting?

Take care sis 🥰🌺🤙, XOXO 🤗💕💋!

This as a awesome series, I wish I had it in my budget to get some of these but maybe later at some point. Great show, thanks for sharing.

It is! I wish I could get more than one of each. But in principle, the only ones I get more of one coin are those that I stack.. the ASE, US Constitutional silver, and specific designs that I am on a tubular journey on.. like the 1982 Libertad and the Engelhard Prospector round.
The great thing about stacking is that we are never in a hurry, and we all must go at our own particular and personal pace. We support each other's motivation by talking about precious metals here in social media (because many of us really do not share this hobby with personal friends), and we learn from each other. In the end, slow and steady is what works best in precious metals stacking. Because it is never easy (for anyone) to set aside fiat for precious metals. I personally forgo many things because I'd rather add an ounce to my stack, LOL! I think I have a serious case of stack-itus😂🤣!
Have a great week ahead, my friend @maddogmike, and take care 🥰🌺🤙

Hands down these are my favorite coins. Everything about them is spot on. The ships are great, skulls everywhere and the details are impeccable, down to each pirates unique jolly roger. So much going on yet not too busy.
Good show triple-8
;)

I know, right?!... just a stunning design - the pictures don't do it justice. Low mintage, relatively low premium than other coins, cool theme, awesome strike, perfect design... aren't you glad you have yours! Can't get them now from regular dealers... only in the secondary market and it is not the end of the year yet!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. O appreciate you, my friend @summertooth. Take care🥰🌺🤙

Very cool, sis! I think that I am attracted to the ships and treasure, because it depicts something that's old, and I've lately come to appreciate the age of items in general, and the history behind it. These are awesome rounds and an asset to your stack! Thanks for sharing sweet sis and have a lovely week ahead!🤗🤗😘💕🌸

The design of these coins are really pretty, and I am so happy to have them. I hope they continue the series and that it goes for a long time! Keeps stacking boredom away, LOL!
