Are You New to Silver and Gold?
In this article, I am sharing a common-sense message and opinion for those new to silver and gold stacking as inspired by a long-time stacker and friend on YouTube losinglouie.
You may be concerned about the possibility of our fiat currency being debased, and want to stack silver and gold. Don't panic and just start buying any silver and gold. Yes, you need silver and gold. But you don't need it at any cost. Don't fall into the trap of present circumstances.
Currently, spot price is low, demand is high, and premiums are high because of a shortage. There is a shortage because mints are closing down and several mines have reduced production. But do not believe that you have to pay anything the market charges to get an American Silver Eagle or an American Gold Eagle.
Right now, it is a "no-brainer" to buy the silver and gold is buying. the market is "irrational". When the market changes and recovers, and the premiums become more rational. Do not believe that there is no silver and there is no gold.
Right now, almost all precious metals website you can find silver that is below a $3.00 premium. It may be generic and not as pretty but they are available right now.
Do not believe that silver is $20.00 an ounce right now. The value of silver is $20 because people are paying that amount right now for American Silver Eagles, and do not believe that the value of gold is $1.8K because people are paying that for an American Gold Eagle.
Just because people are saying something doesn't mean it is true. There are always all kinds of silver and gold.
You can find the lowest premiums on silver and gold if you are flexible. and if you put a little bit of effort into understanding this. Look for low generic silver, look for low premium US Constitutional silver. $12-time face, do not pay 17x face, do not buy silver coins on eBay by the pound. Stick to the purer silver and gold. In time you will learn what LCS will pay. Look for silver that dealers will "buy back". Reputable mints are all over.
Protect yourself without believing that silver and gold are gone. NO, some kinds are gone but there other kinds available.
If you are new, do your research and do not walk into an LCS and buy a monster box of Eagles and but at $20 a coin. There are complexities and there is a lot that goes into buying. Getting into the market has its nuisances.
With the current market, it is recommended that go for the low premium generic silver.

News of Mines going off line due not only to the Covid-19 Virus but with the price of Commodities including the Base Metals plunging Mines have no choice but to close when they can't even meet their Variable costs let alone the 'All-in' Costs. With Just-in-time supply management gets fouled up like we have recently seen, it will take a while before things get back on line. Meanwhile, the damage is done, the fragility of the world economy will take not months but years to get over the damage according to a recent SRS Rocco video.

There are many precious metals online dealers, and shopping around for the best price is prudent. The popular sites are www.apmex.com, www.jmbullion.com, www.providentmetals.com, and many, many more. These dealers do buy-back silver, and usually noted below the advertised price, like this:

You really can't go wrong with low premium generic silver! You can always treat yourself to that "special" round, but I agree with what you are saying about the LCS buyback.
I am very lucky to have a LCS that will ask new customers, "Who are you buying this for".
They give newbies a heads up to what they buy back and what price they will pay.
In these times generic Silver, that you can flip if needed is a smart move!!

I wish there was an LCS close to me. I will probably be there all the time (the way I go to boutiques so often in my past life) and just browse and stare at the shinies, LOL! I think that LCS not only sell their merchandise, but they also help educated peeps on silver and gold, and coin collecting and stacking.
