Finally, my special Silver Florin!

Finally! I've been trying to snipe a 1927 Parliamentary House Australian Florin for as long as I've been collecting coins... sure, I don't put in decent enough bids to guarantee an auction win, but I always bump up higher than normal! But they do appear often enough that I have been willing to just sit around and wait for the next one... but I've picked up florins and crowns and various stuff from all around that 0.925 Australian silver content era... but not this commemorative Florin!
But finally, this time, I managed... and I think it was that it was sort of a bit hidden in the auction description in a batch of coins that were otherwise not really worth anything. There was this florin, a handful of modern worthless UK pence coins... and another Sterling Silver piece (see below)... but the description was a bit meh... so, probably most people skipped over it!

But I finally have it, even if it was through sheer dumb luck of people not reading the description properly! And we have the old King George on it... and surprisingly, it is in pretty decent condition as well!

Meanwhile, the other little treasure in the mixed batch was this Commonwealth Sterling silver piece. It still had the original coin wallet for it... cute little thing!

... and the certificate details... pretty old school, functional and not really that nice to look at!

But the coin design is really quite nice! Another commemorative coin, this time for the Commonwealth Games... but not a circulating piece like the earlier Florin.

... and an updated monarch, the last Queen of the Commonwealth. Who I have to say, is one of the very few people who actually look decent on a coin! And I will stick to that... most people look terrible when they are put on a coin!

Very nice! Two nice coins out of the deal, that's never a bad deal. It's hard to win at silver auctions these days, everyone is buying. Beautiful coins!

Definitely difficult to win the auctions... especially if you are just trying to snipe with lower bids! But I weirdly won 4 lots recently!
Very, very nice coins, @bengy!!!

Oh, I've seen one of these 1927 Parliamentary florins at my favorite local Coin and Stamp shop three weekends ago. It was among a handful I had to put it back since I well exceeded my budget with the higher priority purchases at the time.

Oh, I know that feeling... the tough choices that we have to make!
I feel like the certificates had to get fancier with interesting tech because that one looks incredibly easy to fake by today's standards XD
Yeah, probably right! I hadn't thought about that!
