Hello, players hope you are well and caught the AMA this week. I watched it on youtube Matt showed up so it had some good info on what he is working on and some plans with the collections scores. I like the idea as is should lead to players investing more in the game. I know I got 110 packs last week for a bit more chance in the airdrop. Pretty cheap when you can get the DEC for less than 100. Once again due to nice gift from @clove71 this giveaway is now 2000 DEC. To enter just leave a comment about the battle I recap, the game, or the AMA. Just saying nice or good job doesn't get you in the draw so this week only a few had a chance.

This is the fight I picked this week and the point of it was to show you that you have to be ready for the ruleset. This a Champion 2 battle and the cards are close leveled. Yet who is going to win? You can watch it Here round 3 is wroth it pretty funny what happens. The rule set is Super Sneak and Even Stevens with 34 mana. I thought about going with Yodin but stuck with Malric this time to get that extra mana for the big guys that you can play in this format. My line up is pretty simple, the best tank upfront with secondary one having healing. Then put in the big hitter followed up with a good mana cost, then a guy with armor and retaliate followed by a pretty safe play here thorns and that much armor is great for this match.

None his line up is a bit odd for the rules. Mages at the end are easy targets to kill. Also, 3 mages in this match are a bit odd but could maybe work but I have a void tank. His team has a speed buff but is kind of on the slow side. The tank is a bit odd as it can't fight back and while it could last with the healing it was odd to make be the target of just one. Maybe you can tell it doesn't go so well for him.

Here we are after all the buffs. While he got a little faster still too slow. That healer at the end is going down fast and in general, he is going to lose a few guys fast.

Round 2 and look at that all those high-level guys are just gone. He got a stun on my Chain golem but didn't matter much. Sure I am going to lose someone this round but overall this match is over and it is just time to finish him off right.

It is round 3 is the last one but it starts out with a pretty funny back and forth. In the end, the last two guys kill each other with a retaliate after retaliating. It was one of the reasons I shared the battle that was just funny to watch so hope you clicked the link.

Once more the reason for sharing such an easy win was to point out that if you don't look at the rulesets and adjust your team you can lose really bad. That is a lesson that we all should know but even I forget sometimes. Just remember to use cards that work well in a format or that counter the normal set up. All mages can work in this formate sometimes just not those mages.

I hope that if you checked this out you enjoyed watching me win. I am open to some ideas to make this better. Would you like to see me lose some fights also? Oh and start playing if you're not sign up here if you use my link let me know I give out cool gifts.

Now for who won the 2000 DEC winner from the last post. I know I was a few days late sorry. Hive Link and Steem Link

I would like to see some close battles. Last 2 were pretty easy and I could figure out just by looking at the lineup.
Talking about updates, I'm kind of neutral about the latest updates in the game. Mostly because the earlier one would have been much easier for me. With such a big community it's hard to be on top of the leadership board. Reaching to champion 2 and may be 1 was easier for me. It's going to be difficult I suppose now.
I already had a very bad day completing my water splinter quest today. It was my best splinter once.
Plus no potions for reward cards. I know it's good for long term but being greedy here. Lol

I'm a newbie so I learnt a lot from the battle. Specially Round 3. Didn't know that when two retaliate abilities face each other, one monster will die for sure lol.
First off, I always choose Malric in super sneak mode, if he is available, and use tanks in position 1 and the last position. I think your decision to go with Malric was good and putting a retaliate in the last position was awesome.
Secondly, I think that the opponent was trying to do his quest hahaha. Or maybe he didn't pay attention to the game mode. Putting tank heal at the last position that too in super sneak mode was foolish. He should have put his retaliate in the last position.
Lastly, I was delegated a spirit miner, and just now I got to know that its out of print now. So I made my first purchase ever! A spirit miner! Just got to from this battle that spirit miner gets so many abilities when it levels up. I'm gonna buy more and level it up before the price rises.
Thanks for the post!

Ya the miner is a good card just not on this match or that position at least. Thanks for checking out my post and gl

Yeah in this match miner wasn't much useful. But it was the first time I saw so many abilities on him haha. Made me buy it to level up.

Being new to splinterlands, the sudden update about the potions is quite saddening. Daily quests will be less atractive because of it. Adding a burn value to the potions should be implemented in my opinion. New players will surely have hard time collecting cards when the updates comes. For me, the game just becomes more pay to win. Also, the collection power ceiling for me is not good for new players. This will just widen the gap between new and old players. Lols, sorry for lame opinion, Im still new to the game.

Thanks for the reward! I guess new Untamed pack is coming to me.

:reply:
For your team I would always consider there is always possibility that opponent comes with Earth team and that magic attacking sneaking goblin. Your position 5 having such a high speed and retaliate shoud work fine at 6th

For opponent I can only say all team is so wrong for the given rule sets.

Cheers!

Hi, @stever82. I love to analyze battles. Here in this ruleset the Woody Nymph in the last position was certainly a mistake, at least if it were Spirit Minner, he would still have some chance to avoid the blows. Congratulations for the initiative of this contest, which is very cool.

I was a bit miffed about the potion update that came with no advance warning, despite a previous promise that we would always get 7 days notice of changes to the game. I had been saving mine for end of season and now have a large surplus. Just opened 7 chests from a DQ and got 5 more potions and a little bit of DEC. :-(

I know what you mean. I was also saving them for the end of season rewards to get some gold cards and more legendary. But they need to protect the economy of the game. I like that now they are just for open packs you have to buy as that might lead to more pack buying

Yeah. I get that they need to protect the economy of the game. It was just the short notice I was annoyed about. Especially as it wasn't a new problem. The numbers of increased legendaries and golds must have been pretty easy to see via the stats. Anyway . . . moving on . . . :-)

That was a nice set up from you and your opponent really did a terrible mistake putting wood nymph at the back when the rules stated all melee have sneak,he didn't follow the rules and that made him lose woefully, you have 97% chance of winning that battle...
