Splinterlands | Battle of the Legendary Summoners | My First Time
Introduction
As a Splinterlands player for a year, I have reached the Champions League maybe ten times, but that was before the changes were incorporated. With the bots gaming the system, the Collection Power stats came into play, putting players and bots in leagues commensurate with their investment or weightage in the game. That was a good move, but it meant that I would take some time before entering the Champions League again.
Not that it was a bad thing, but I missed seeing all those high-powered cards. I also miss seeing the Legendary Summoners in action. By Legendary Summoners, I mean the seven mana cost ones. In the Silver and Gold League, I do come across some opponents with Legendary Summoners, but they are far and few. Not many players have them. Even those that have the Legendary cards do not have sound strategies and therefore end up losing.
And that brings us to the topic in discussion. I was pleasantly surprised to come against an opponent with a Legendary Summoner. Not only did the player have a Legendary Summoner, I too had taken the Byzantine Kitty to battle. And that gave me one of the epic (or should I say legendary) battles in some time.
So, I am going to talk about that battle. It is improbable to see two Legendaries battle it out in the Silver League. Anyway, before we get to the battle, how about knowing Splinterlands a bit? After all, that’s the game we are talking about.
What Game is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a digital card game that allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent, and even earn on the cards. The game gives Play to Earn a whole different meaning. It is one of the most generous games that I have seen where cards, potions, Dark Energy Crystals (DEC. Cryptocurrency) are given out every day to thousands of players for just playing and winning daily quests. And there are tournaments that you can play or guilds that you can join.
Just to give you an idea of how lucky you can get in Splinterlands - read my story of getting cards worth $500 from buying few packs worth $20 only.

And this is just a small number. I have witnessed people getting uber-expensive cards in their pack and selling it for as high as $6500. This means the game has interested buyers for your cards too. In fact, there is a whole Splinterlands marketplace.
If this is not enough, then Splinterlands has just launched the governance token SPS, which is being airdropped to all Splinterlands players over the next one year. So, you are not late. Get on with the game and earn SPS today.

Clash of the Legendaries | An Interesting Battle In A Long Time
The idea of taking a Legendary Summoner in the Silver League is not an easy choice. Why? Because most of the time, the battles are of medium or low mana, which disallows us to take a Summoner of high mana cost. So, most of the Legendaries in the seven mana cost bracket are automatically written off. That is until I got lucky one day.
The rule in the play had a mana cap of 42 with the Enrage ability.
For me, there was no question in mind. I thought of going for the Dragon Splinter and in it with the Byzantine Kitty. So, I had a Legendary Summoner in hand. What I didn’t expect was my opponent, too, had chosen a Legendary Summoner.
Boy, was I in for some fun! 😊
Getting Ready to Meet The Opponent
And then we were at the face-off screen. Here is what it looked like.
The opponent got “Chanseus The Great” to the battle. That was something to look forward to. Both the Legendary Summoners gave three buffs to friendly monsters.
The Byzantine Kitty heals the monster in the first position each round, gives true strike ability to all friendly monsters for the first round, and increases the speed of all friendly monsters by two. Contrasting this, Chanseus has resurrect-ability for one friendly monster, heals a monster at the back-line which has taken the most damage while restores some amount of armor for the monster that has the most damage during a round.
With these abilities, it would be interesting to see how the battle progresses.
And the Battle Begins
At the exact end of round one, both the sides’ monsters were still going on.
Despite the attacks and counterattacks, both sides held well.
By the beginning of round two, my tank was healed by the Kitty while the Chanseus had first repaired the Shieldbearer’s armor and, just when it perished, resurrected it back. That was the exact moment that the Shieldbearer was resurrected.
The Battle Races to Conclusion
The Shieldbearer lasted just one more attack, and after that, the field was open for my monsters.
The opponent’s Sandworm took out my Dragon at the back. That was the most damage that the opponent could do. As their frontline was being demolished, they stood little chance.
And then the final blow. The opponent’s Sandworm was taken out, leaving just the Ooze at the end. I had won. So, in this case, at least, the Kitty prevailed. 😊
Kitty Trumped Chanseus
Well, in this battle, I got the upper hand, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing two Legendaries in action. Imagine the fun it would be to go against other legendary summoners. It has to be experienced. It gives a different kind of thrill.
Anyway, that’s my short story of the Splinterlands Legendary battle. I hope you enjoyed reading it! 😊
