Hello Friends,

Splinterlands Weekly Challenge has brought back the rulesets instead of monsters for the SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge and it's none other than one of my favorites, Equalizer Ruleset.

Equalizer ruleset, as we know, enables all the monsters from either side have equal health and the health will be equal to the monster with highest health.
For example, if I have included a monster Magnor in a battle with Equalizer ruleset, if that is the highest health monster among all the monsters used, then all the monsters will have a health of 15 no matter what their original health was.
This particular ruleset is helpful in using low health monsters to effective use and it's advised to use low health monsters as much as possible to make the best use of those.

Battle and Lineup:

https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=d9aa9fb900a33d49a22e7d72090e9ae9a7d1e41e

This being an Equalizer type of battle, I always try to use the combination of Exploding Dwarf with Giant Roc from Fire Splinter in order to maximize the attack with Exploding Dwarf having abilities of Pierce, Retaliate and more importantly Blast while Giant Roc comes with Flying and Trample abilities.
This battle involved a huge MANA cap of 50 and besides Equalizer, there was another rule set in Weak Magic which means the magic monsters have to reduce the armors before hitting main health of a monster.
Here goes my lineup with the 2 monsters I mentioned above along with couple of magic and a ranged monster with inspire ability and finally, Magnor at the back end to taunt all the monsters to attack it and make the life a bit more easy for Exploding Dwarf at the front.

1. Exploding Dwarf:

image.png

If you have gone thru my Splinterlands Weekly Challenge blogs, you might have read why I use Exploding Dwarf whenever there is a Equalizer ruleset battle. The simple reason being, Equalizer ruleset gives additional power to Exploding Dwarf in the form of additional health which makes it more potent with all the abilities it has.
First, it's awesome attack of 6 with speed of 7 and abilities blast, pierce and retaliate makes it have more chances of attacking more than once in each round and my ideal choice for front monster!!!!

2. Giant Roc:

image.png

it's a good ally for Exploding Dwarf because of it's abilities Trample and Reach besides being a Flying monster and it gives good enough melee attack of 3.

Line.jpg

3. Flame Imp:

image.png

I use this monster more for it's Swift ability to increase the speed of the monsters I use than for its magic attack of 2. Being a 3 MANA cost monster, this gives the option for me to use few other monsters even if MANA cap is less.

Line.jpg

4. Beetle Queen:

image.png

Every battle needs a Tank Healer and this only healer for Fire Splinter is a must to include especially in battles involving Exploding Dwarf in Equalizer battles. More often, it's among the first few to attack and compliments attack from Exploding Dwarf and Flame Imf by attacking early and there will be more chances of removing the front monster early.

Line.jpg

5. Ferexia General:

image.png

Another good monster for all kinds of battles as it has the ability inspire to increase the attack level of melee monsters besides it's 3 snipe ranged attack.

Line.jpg

6. Magnor:

image.png

I use Magnor at the backend, infact most of the Taunt ability monsters at the backend to divert the attack and battles with Equalizer can utilize this monster best by using it at backend so as to allow front monster attack freely.

Line.jpg

That completes my lineup and it's always nice to see what opponent's lineup was, the Death splinter monsters Goblin Mech, Corrupted Pegasus, Sandworm, Phantom Soldier, Prismatic Energy and Dark Enchantress completes his lineup, a good one with couple of them having Stun ability and use of Magnor was a justified one for me in this battle.

Line.jpg

Battle:

When we have huge MANA, we know that the battle will go into more rounds, but there are exceptions like with use of Legendary monsters such as Yodin Zaku, the battles will get over early.
But, this battle went on for 10 rounds and here we go with the details round by round:

Round 1:

The inspire ability from Ferexia General and swift ability from Flame Imp means, the Exploding Dwarf and co had to be among the first few to attack and also have increased attack level and that showed in the first round itself with all of opponent's monsters attacking Magnor due to taunt ability it has.
By the end of round 1, Magnor's health reduced to 7 while Goblin Mech, the front monster for opponent regained the health by end of round to 16 as it got healed by Corrupted Pegasus.

image.png

Round 2:

Magnor became the first one to be removed as it continuously took the blows from all of opponent's monsters barring first and second one and that means, now, Exploding Dwarf will be getting targeted.

image.png

Round 3:

opponent had hist first monster loss with removal of Goblin Mech and retaliate from Exploding Dwarf made Corrupted Pegasus got it's health reduced as well by the end of Third round.

image.png

Round 4:

Corrupted Pegasus was the first to go in this round followed by Exploding Dwarf with a hit by Sanworm. The monster count remaining by this round was 4 each for both of us.

image.png

Round 5:

A stun by Dark Enchantress means, front monster, Giant Roc couldn't attack in this round and got reduced it's health to 1.

image.png

Round 6:

Just when I was thinking that the Giant Roc will get removed in this round, it could get out of stun and got healed to attack Sandworm and Phantom Soldier back to back because of trample ability and reduced opponent's monster count to 2.

image.png

Round 7, 8 and 9:

Giant Roc health got reduced to 1 by end of each of the rounds 7, 8 and 9, but it kept getting healed and by end of round 9, it removed Prismatic Energy and with that, only Dark Enchantress left for the opponent.

image.png

Round 10:

It was 1 vs 4 in this round as for as monster count was concerned and Dark Enchantress has to bow out against the combined attack.

image.png

It was a good battle considering the monsters used from both of us. It's always a challenge to win battles against Death Splinter monsters and Magnor played a huge hand in this win as equal to Exploding Dwarf.

Line.jpg

Question Answer time!!!!

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Yeah, each monster played it's part in this win including the not attacking **Magnor as well and I don't think any other monster would have made that possible. We can see the case of Giant Roc where it was reduced to 1 health in 3 or 4 rounds, but got healed to kept attacking.

Do you like the EQUALIZER ruleset? Why or why not?

It's the most cherished ruleset for me and I love battling it out when this ruleset is on.

Line.jpg

That was a nice battle and a cherishing one for me and I win most of the battles with this ruleset courtesy of Exploding Dwarf and combination of Flame Imp, Beetle Queen and Giant Roc along with couple others based on MANA cap.

Thanks for reading and have a good day battlers :)

That Dwarf is horrific with Equalizer.

Your opponent looked a bit underpowered this time! If i used sneak with Equalizer, I like to use it with poison, then it becomes very effective! Actually doesn't the opportunity monster from Fire have poison when you level it up, potentially poisoning two or three monsters at a time if you used snipe and sneak.

Once again you are spot on on the shortcomings, but all I have is a level 5 opportunist monster in Serpentine Spy and it needs to be upgraded to level 10!!!

Another poison monster is Serpent of the Flame but it's attack is too less although it too has retaliate ability.

You gave me a bit more idea of using other monsters, I will definitely try different combination next time :)

Good day buddy :)

This is my absolute faveourite ruleset! Affliction, cleanse, blast, heal are all good also dodge/ blind as they have more chance to work!

Even mine too!!!!

I do have monsters with all those abilities, but it's just that, we need to get enough MANA cost to accommodate them all :)

Have a wonderful day in the new country you moved in :)

Another fantastic Battle Challenge post. By the way, your dividers don't work on the dark mode for Peakd or Splintertalk, because they are JPGs with white backgrounds. Check out this collection of Splinterlands graphics. Maybe you like something. They are all with transparent backgrounds.
