I hope you are doing and also making money thru the airdropped SPS tokens.
It's been a busy week for Splinterlands personnel and even battlers like me as we are nearing the end of the current season.
Happy to be back in Champions league after a long time and hope to have some good returns from the extra chests I will get.
The challenge of SHARE YOUR BATTLE this week includes a Earth Splinter monster of Beatrix Ironhand which is one of the only few monsters with Close Range ability.
OK, here I go with the lineup and battle details for this challenge.

As I mentioned, this is an Earth splinter monster from Untamed edition and this monster of epic category with ranged attack and this comes with good speed and attack along with some newly introduced abilities which I will be discussing in below section.

Statistics:

As we see from the above pic, the monster starts with 2 ranged attack and it gets leveled up quickly with a requirement of just 5 cards in total and the next leveling up to have 4 attack happens only in the Sixth level which also happens to be the maximum level for this monster.
It has good speed as well and it is constant throughout the Six levels with 4 speed.
As for as it's life is concerned, it starts with 5 lives and it can get to 6 from level 4 and above.
The abilities this monster can boast off includes Close Range, Thorn and Cripple.
Close Range makes it to attack even from First position which normally doesn't happen with ranged attack monsters.
Thorn we already know that, the monsters with melee attack will get hit with thorns when those attack the Beatrix Ironhand
The last ability this monster has is the Cripple which reduces a life from whatever maximum a monster can have and hence, we may call it as reverse scavenging.

Now that, we know about the statistics of this monster, now, let us move onto see what lineup was used by me and by my opponent with details of summoners too.
I used this legendary summoner of Scarred Llama Mage to utilize the additional abilities it provides to all the friendly monsters such as +2 health, Last Stand and Cleanse.
This was a battle with 40 MANA cap and had 2 rule sets in Stampede and Heavy Hitters.
Let's see the lineup I used for this battle:

Lineup:

1. Lord Arianthus:

I normally go with either Flesh Golem or Nectar Queen whenever I see there is huge MANA cap, but I just wanted to try it differently this time and used Lord A guessing that, there might be few magic monsters in opponent's lineup.

2. Kron The Undying:

Kron the Undying was used to negate any snipe attack as this monster can heal itself and survive the battle for some rounds.

3. Screeching Vulture:

Used this to get rid of low life monsters and this was a good addition to this lineup.

4. Brownie:

I used this to increase the speed of all monsters and also to inspire melee attack monsters(infact there was only 1 melee attack monster).

5. Beatrix Ironhand:

This close range attack monster was not something I normally use, but, here it is used to have it's nice ability.

6. Spirit of the Forest:

The tank healer was crucial in this win as it is a snipe attack monster and accounted for couple of monsters including opponent's Spirit of the Forest.

Opponent used Earth splinter too with beta version summoner and his monsters were Flesh Golem, Mushroom Seer, Prismatic Energy, Wood Nymph, Spirit of the Forest and lastly, Javelin Thrower.

Battle:

Let's see the battle with details from each round as described below:

Round 1:

The usage of Scarred Llama Mage summoner was a big plus in this battle as it gave the much needed extra lives and that made the Lord A keep surviving the from the the attack from all the monsters from opponent's lineup.
There weren't any monsters lost in this round as all the monsters were with more lives.

Round 2:

Spirit of the Forest's snipe attack and Screeching Vulture's opportunity attack made the Mushroom Seer to lose itself, but it did poison the Lord A before dying.
Lord A was down to 2 lives and Flesh Golem's attack just before the round ended made the Lord A to get removed making it 1 each monster from each side to get removed.

Round 3:

Wood Nymph was the next monster to be removed once again by opportunity attack from Screeching Vulture.

image.png

Round 4 to 7:

The dodge ability by Javelin Thrower made it to evade couple of attacks from Screeching Vulture and that means, all the monsters survived till round 7 and in round 7, both sides lost a monster each with opponent's Spirit of the Forest taking out Beatrix Ironhand and opponent's Prismatic Energy to got lost in round 7 from combined snipe and opportunity attack.

image.png

Round 8 to 10:

The next monster to get removed was opponent's Javelin Thrower after evading couple more attacks and finally bowed out in round 10.

image.png

Round 11:

Spirit of the Forest from opponent's lineup has to go as it was constantly getting attacked by it's counterpart and also from Screeching Vulture.

Round 12 and 13:

The last monster standing on opponent's lineup, the Flesh Golem got removed in Thirteenth round finishing the battle.

It was a good battle with both sides having some awesome monsters and reaching 13 rounds shows how tough the battle was.

Questions and Answers:

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Well, the strategy was good with each of those monsters I used contributing in this win.
Lord A survived just 2 rounds but, the Kron the Undying ensured no further monster removal from front position.
Even the Beatrx Ironhand was good in the 7 rounds it survived and if I am not using that, I would have definitely used either Spirit Miner or Javelin Thrower.

Do I like BEATRIX IRONHAND? Why or why not?

I do like it, but, the flurry of monsters Earth Splinter has, it seldom gets a lesser number for it's chance to be used in the battle as we have monsters like Javelin Thrower, Spirit Miner and even Mushroom Seer which all gives better option.

So, did you enjoy this battle and the explanation I have given here? Do share your comments.
The price of the SPS is slowly getting reduced and it's quite understandable that, many will be trying to sell with the price of each SPS is above 0.5$ and I will be waiting for few more days to see what will be the stable price of each SPS.
Thanks as always for the support you provide to my blogs.

Thanks and Have a good day :)
