Hello Friends,

Thanks to @bdcommunity for hosting a contest for second week on the trot and I still remember the entries for last week's contest with some of the best entries for 12 MANA battles.
Through those wonderful entries, Splinterlands battlers showed how creative and intelligent in winning the battles with different combination with just 12 MANA!!!!
Well, here is my entry for this week's contest, which is to showcase the best lineup for Little Leagues i.e. only monsters AND summoners with MANA cost of 4 or less only are allowed to be used in the battle!!!!

My all time favorite lineup for Little Leagues is from Life Splinter with lineup in the order of Crystal Werewolf, Silvershield Warrior, Divine Sorceress, Defender of Truth**, Divine Healer and Peacebringer.
Believe me, that is one of the toughest combination with my win percentage with that combination is, I can say more than 90% and that is like I said, my all time best combination for Little Leagues.

But, for a change, I tried something different today with Earth Splinter monsters and I think that combination should also be among the top best combinations if not the best ever.
OK then, let's see what combination I used and why I rate it higher.

Lineup:

https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=30401b6cdc047cdeb5f51824c3c90e5d9488c809

So, the above screenshot shows the lineup for both sides and coincidentally, we both used Water Splinter, but one summoner was trying to inspire his monsters while the other tried to degrade the monsters on other side.
lol, you guessed it right like what I tried to convey with above sentence, it was a battle of Alric Stormbringer summoner vs Bortus summoner!!!

So, the battle was for 32 MANA cap although, we can't use that much because of Little Leagues and the other ruleset we had was Heavy Hitters making the stunned monster to get double blow from each of the monster.

Fine, here is my lineup:

1. Spineback Turtle:

image.png

One of the best front monsters against melee, magic and even ranged attack monsters with it's good number of armors and ability to throw thorns makes it a winner of Little Leagues.

2. Electric Eels:

image.png

Another good monster suitable for front position in second line because of it's Reach ability with Blast to damage 2 monsters at a time.

3. Mermaid Healer:

image.png

The healing ability of second line monsters makes it one of the front runners to be used in Little League battles and it's 2 magic attack will be a bonus as 2 or 3 magic monsters in little leagues will be a terrific combination.
This was particularly helpful in healing the monsters attacked by sneak and snipe monsters.

4. Medusa:

image.png

Second magic monster in my lineup to give that advantage against the armored front monsters and one more reason to use this only is because of heavy hitters ruleset and this being a monster with stun ability, well suited in Fourth position to survive from snipe monsters.

5. Crustacean King:

image.png

A healer with added advantage of providing the armors for all friendly monsters is what makes Crustacean King to be used in battles with all kinds of rulesets.

6. Pirate Captain:

image.png

A snipe monster with inspire ability to give more teeth to melee attack, a must use in Little League battles.

In comparison, opponent came up with a slightly different lineup such as Tortisian Fighter, Feasting Seaweed, Electric Eels, Crustacean King, Medusa and Naga Windmaster.

Battle:

The battle of 2 Water Splinter teams with both sides mostly identical, was a feast to see and the strategy from both sides looked a good one, but I had a slightly better strategy to win the battle.
Let's see what made me to win the battle with details of each round as below.

Round 1:

Lack of thorn monster at the front and Medusa from opponent's side missing to Stun the Spineback Turtle were notable things from round 1.
Although, no loss of monsters from either side in this round showed the equality in attack, the shielded Tortisian Fighter for opponent losing couple of health has to be seen as a gain for me from round 1 beside it was stunned by Medusa.

Round 2:

Stunned Tortisian Fighter was first to go in this round and Feasting Seaweed attacked and removed Spineback Turtle but also itself getting removed because of thorns by Spineback Turtle.
So, monsters remaining after round 2 are:

Round 3:

Both Medusas were able to stun in this round with Electric Eels being at the front on both side, the difference again was because of an extra magic monster I had.

image.png

Round 4

Electric Eels from both sides lost out as they were stunned in last round and the strategy I used in using 2 magic monsters with a second line monster healer in Mermaid Healer was a good move.

image.png

Round 5:

Stunning was again the decisive point in this round with opponent's Medusa stunning Mermaid Healer to stop it from attacking, but a heal from Crustacean King saved it from perishing.

image.png

Round 6:

This time, it was the turn of Medusa used by me to stun medusa on opposite side and eventually, that almost sealed the win for me.

Round 7 and 8:

Stunned Medusa was first to go followed by Naga Windmaster providing a win for me.

Little League battles can tilt in any way based on the strategy and monsters we use.

Strategic points for this win:

1. Usage of 2 magic monsters with useful abilities in stun and healing second line monsters.
2. Usage of a monster with thorn ability in the front and second monster with blast ability to damage 2 monsters.
3. Usage of a monster with inspire ability (Pirate Captain) to make melee monsters more stronger.
4. Usage of Crustacean King for healing front monster and also to provide armors for all friendly monsters.

I believe the points mentioned above are the strategy points and possibly among the best for any Little League battles.
Even against the Life Splinter lineup I mentioned above, this will prove to be a winner with stun ability of Medusa.

Line.jpg

Possible loss scenarios:

1. Two or more magic monsters with atleast One with stun ability and One or Two opportunity monsters to remove low health monsters.
2. Use of Selenia Sky summoner with few good ranged attack monsters with a solid melee monster at the front.
3. Death Splinter monsters with couple of snipe monsters to check magic monsters and monsters with poison and stun abilities.

Those are some of the scenarios which could have induced loss to lineup of monsters I used.

Do you think any other lineups which could have defeated me?

Thanks for reading this, have a good day :)

Gotta love little league! I hate when I have a high mana little league though, and can't use all the mana, haha!

Thanks bro, Little Leagues are always interesting with limited resource use.

lol, high MANA cap in a Little League is always a waste and I think the same as you ;)

That's a fairly safe choice of low mana cards. I think the sniper is a good idea, as ranged and magic attacks are always common choices.

I'd be interested to see if you'd have won had they played their cards in the correct positions - I don't know what the reach card is doing in third, and their Crustacean should be where yours is!

I've had a look at the battle chain on LL battles, and usually Manticore wins over Eels in second place btw.

Thank you my friend. I used Pirate Captain thinking of it's inspire and it's 2 ranged snipe attack, it worked well to inspire melee monsters.

I'd be interested to see if you'd have won had they played their cards in the correct positions - I don't know what the reach card is doing in third, and their Crustacean should be where yours is!

Well, I don't think a person with rating above 4.5K would have done it by mistake, there should be something in his mind behind putting that Reach monster in third position, may be, he wanted to use it for monsters from second or third onwards in my lineup or may be, he wanted to save it from those front position monsters with thorns?

I agree with you, it was a bad move to put that healer in second position instead of Fifth or last position.

I've had a look at the battle chain on LL battles, and usually Manticore wins over Eels in second place btw.

This is something even I thought of and yes, I have lost few battles when Dragons were on with Manticore as Reach monster.

But, this being a Heavy Hitters battle, results would have been still same because of stunning by Medusa and others grabbing the opportunity to hit with double blow.

Also, the Dragon Splinter usage against my Water Splinter means, my 2 magic monsters would be more rampant with extra magic attack for not using Bortus!!!

One monster change wouldn't have made huge difference in this Little League battle is what I think...

What do you say?

I still can't see a good reason for having one monster sitting idle! It also made their opportunity monster useless more quickly!

One change, you're right, could have made a massive difference.

You still played it right, it's one of the more interesting rules is Little League, and heavy hitters!

Yeah, agree with you on a monster being idle.

And the combination of rulesets were interesting and medusa is a hero or should I say heroine?
