Splinterlands - 99 MANA Battle? I can win it with 25 MANA monsters!!!!
Hello Friends,
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=3225c408e7e7415df8f0fe46879d5e82c991dba6
How are you all doing? Gearing up for the Season End Rewards? Well, I just reached Champions 1 on penultimate day for the season to end and I had an interesting Equalizer battle with 99 MANA limit.
Well, exactly the same thing as above, happened with me in an Equalizer battle as I won the 99 MANA cap battle with 25 MANA monsters!!!
Here I go to the battle details without wasting further time.
A huge respect to my opponent in this battle for the lineup he used.
Battle and Lineup:
An Equalizer battle always fascinates me as I have high win percentage with that rule set and more than 95%, I have used Fire splinter with Exploding Dwarf at the front!!!
I continued the same trend with this battle as well with below lineup.
1. Exploding Dwarf:
MANA Cost: 5
No matter what the opponent has lined up, I always use this monster for an Equalizer battle as it has won me most of the times!!
8 melee attack(thanks to inspire by Enchanted Pixie and Ferexia General) and abilities of Retaliate, Blast and Pierce makes it my go to man for the rule set.
2. Giant Roc:
MANA Cost: 5
This monster responds well to the Exploding Dwarf with it's Trample and Flying abilities besides the Reach ability.
Inspired to have 5 melee attack, this also can back up as front monster this being the Equalizer battle.
3. Enchanted Pixie:
MANA Cost: 3.
Used this particularly for Inspire ability and also being an Flying monster, it can evade few attacks from melee and ranged monsters.
4. Flame Imp:
MANA Cost: 3
Another monster I use most in Equalizer battles is this one for it's Swift ability and this also being Flying monster, can evade few attacks.
5. Beetle Queen:
MANA Cost: 4
The sole healer for Fire Splinter, Beetle Queen is a must for Equalizer battles to keep healing the Exploding Dwarf to keep it going.
6. Ferexia General:
MANA Cost: 5
Last monster on my lineup, but a prominent one with Inspire ability and is also a Snipe attack monster with useful 3 ranged attack.
Total MANA Cost: 25.
That was a formidable lineup for ALL of 25 MANA cost in a 99 MANA cap battle!!!!
It won't be fair if I don't provide the details of monsters lined up by opponent to compare the same with my lineup.
Lord Arianthus:
MANA Cost: 5.
Opponent used Dragon splinter with Earth splinter for the lineup and he had Lord A at the front followed by Gelatinous Cube, so his strategy was to have a strong neutral front line and attack from backend monsters.
Gelatinous Cube:
MANA Cost: 6.
A self healing monster to back up Lord A at the front and save the backend monsters for a longer time.
Peaceful Giant:
MANA Cost: 5.
Another neutral monster to further strengthen the front line and protect the other 3 monsters to follow.
Robo-Dragon Knight
MANA Cost: 11.
And.. the attack for opponent starts with this newly introduced Reward Card with 4 melee attack which can start attack when it comes to front position since this is a melee monster.
Diamond Dragon:
MANA Cost: 10.
The monster which can attack from round 1 for opponent is this one and the one to follow.
A magic attack monster with 2 attack and huge armors of 10 and slows down my monsters with slow ability.
Wood Nymph:
MANA Cost: 4.
Last monster on opponent's lineup included this healing monster which also has a single magic attack.
Total Mana Cost for opponent's monsters: 41
That completes the lineups for both teams and confirms that 25 MANA cost monsters by me will be facing 41 MANA cost monsters used by opponent.
Battle:
Would you expect a 25 MANA monsters in a 99 MANA cap battle? Well, I felt I have the best lineup and hence I did go with that!!!
Round 1:
Lord A from opponent's side bear all the attack including the blast from Exploding Dwarf and both got healed to get back near to the original health.
Round 2:
As we expect, it's the front monsters which will have to bear most of the attack in Equalizer battles and the front monsters from both sides lost a bit more health in this round and the details at the end of round 2 were as below:
Round 3:
We finally saw end of life for a monster in this round with Lord Arianthus bowing out and that also took Gelatinous Cube to reduce opponent's monsters count to 4.
Round 4:
It was end of another neutral monster Peaceful Giant in this round for opponent and that means, we got the Robo-Dragon Knight into the front position and ready for it's first attack.
I am excited to see to see how it battles with those nice abilities.
Contrary to what I was expecting, Robo-Dragon Knight surrendered to the supremacy of Exploding Dwarf and opponent's chances were getting lesser and lesser with just one more main monster left in Diamond Dragon.
It was the turn of Diamond Dragon to lose out in this round and there was only the healer Wood Nymph left to conquer the battle.
It didn't take much time to remove the last monster on opponent's side i.e. Wood Nymph to register a win.
I think usage of 3 neutral monsters by opponent made it a one sided match as it would have been beneficial for him to use couple of attacking magic or ranged monsters would have made it more competitive.
In the end, a win is a win and that too with just 25 MANA monsters is something that made me confident to try out more such combinations in future.
Thanks for going thru this blog and I hope you enjoyed reading this.
